The Up is at least 100% more expensive with all it faults that needs to be rectified, the Up has shuddering brakes, bad clutch, bad gearbox, bad release bearing, prone to water in the boot, bad antenna, no infotainment. What the Up has is better body work and stronger engine even with the 60HP. I know I have had both cars and the Aygo is simply the cheapest and most reliable car ever, never spend a single penny on the Aygo in 5 years. The Aygo is more noisey, doesnt handle wind as well and struggles more on the highway.

I was hoping John would mention about the clutch and high biting point. I have had a lot of problems with stalling and rolling car back as i cant seem to control the clutch.

It needs calibrating every 6-12 months to bring it down again, plenty of tutorials on CZcams. You basically need to remove the battery then manually turn a knobby thing underneath by around 3 anticlockwise turns. My uncle did it for me and it took like 5-10 minutes so now my clutch is nice and low. If you next take it to the garage for an MOT or service they can do it for you really quickly and cheaply. Search on CZcams Toyota Aygo, Citroen C1, Peugeot 108 clutch calibration. Let me know how it goes!

Had one of these from new in the top spec with the auto box. It is a good city car and I did a few long journeys with no problem as long as you don't want to much comfort. The 69bhp engine was the only gripe was it was gutless up hills and definitely needs more power .

Thank you Jonathan for another excellent car review presentation in the
Delightful English countryside, with a clear comprehensive commentary and backed up by very professional camera sound and lighting.
As far as I'm aware, unfortunately, we don't get Aygos here in NZ, but do get interesting and imaginative small cars, used ex Japanese, ( sienna, Porte, Spade, Spike, etc).
Kei class mini trucks are becoming more numerous on our roads recently, also ex Japan.
PS. Nice to see 'that corner' once more, the one with the pine trees, always makes me smile, lovely!
Kind regards to you and your team, from Geoff and Linda,( two squares in a Nissan cube.)

@@Christopher_C same as any other car. it's brilliant. only downside of the aygo is it's very underpowered.

@@isaachunt5799 okay thanks for the response. I personaly don’t need a fast car. As long the car can handle the highway, i’m happy with it.

@@Christopher_Cit handles highway speeds (up to 70 mph) but struggles on inclines due to lack of power - have to shift to 4th gear and maintain 60 mph going up :)

Great video. And I know why Toyota definitely doesn't want the 1.2 litre engine. The 1.0 litre engine is sourced from Toyota's subsidiary, Daihatsu. While the 1.2 litre engine is a PSA design. Enough said!
