Damn dude. Was this just before Notorious? I feel like they are one of the few bands that changed and grew and it was very beneficial for their sound. They didn't change drastically, but man Notorious night be one of the best albums ever.

This was the Strange Behaviour Tour promoting the Notorious album. "Working for the Skin Trade" came out of this tour. I saw them on this tour in Pittsburgh, PA. It was magical because you could see many changes from when I saw them in March of 1984 at the Syracuse NY Carrier Dome with Billy Idol opening up.

Notorious was in 1986 and both Warren and Andy played guitar as well as none other than the legendary Nile Rogers who produced the album. 'New Religion' was one of the heaviest rock songs from the band's early history. It comes off the Rio album as sounds as fresh and vibrant as it did 40 years ago!! This live version may not be for everyone, but Warren's imagination on guitar is absolutely off the scale! Incredible live music!!

They slowed the tempo of the song. I like the original version live version better. You can really each instrument. This was a transition period for them. ANDY and Roger had left. The production reflects their absence:(....

Yeah, especially having just watched them doing the song in 1982, this slower version just seems a bit bland. Even Warren's guitar seems a bit lost and dull.

This is how they reinvent their song/musical arrangement back in 1980s. This version is from their Strange Behaviour Tour of 1987-1988. What you're talking about is the Arena - Sing Blue Silver tour which is also a great version and sounded similar to the LP version but in a speedy tempo mode.

Yeah, I've never been keen on this full horn section version either, and Warren's guitar interpretation doesn't help.
