bro honestly this is the best new golf channel in recent history
Thanks! :) also love your videos. Jerome Golf Sidekick crossover episode one of these days??
I agree, and I watch you as well Matt.
@@JeromeRufin yeah let’s do it. may be in the states july/august. would love it
whadda playa
@@GolfSidekick yayayaya!
Mikes lessons are on a different level. I feel like a college student getting the best instruction ever
He makes learning fun IMO. I liked the original premise of categorizing the shots that players of certain levels can and cannot be able to hit. That is a really good way to set interim goals while on the way to improving overall game. I think that is a really good way to get a player to work on fundamentals while attempting to work on proficiency in all the shots necessary to hit to become a player .
This guy is a monster.
It's raining gold every time mike talks!
I feel like I’ve gotten thousands of dollars of golf coaching from your videos. I’ll be rewatching these for years!
Keep up the grind bro! So excited to be along for the ride.
I just want to give everyone in the world the accessibility to watch the greatest coaches in the world, so everyone has the same opportunity regardless of their situation :)
And appreciate it and thankful for you to be a part of the ride!
My life has been guided by no one that has told me to fold my wrist. That's what I get everytime I'm at the range or the net in my backyard. I even pause shooting a round... no shame. That's just what needs to happen. My irons have become so much more consistent.
Mikes patience is next level, you can see why a lot of the top coaches will only coach top players
Great , Mike is pure gold
Masterclass at its finest. He explained it so well when he said that couple of miliseconds at the point of attacking the ball with hands and wrists in front of the ball is the most important aspect of a swing and something I wish I learned 10 years ago.
Once you get that down consistently and start rotating, your slice will go away and can start working on other parts of your game. You can't find this content anywhere else on CZcams explained so perfectly. What a legend.
every time I see one of your lessons with Mike I just want to get out and practice what he is teaching you. Hopefully if you get to scratch then I will get in to single figures. I wish us both good luck.
Thanks for posting these lessons. I can only imagine how expensive a coach as good as Mike is. To be paying and posting for us is much appreciated.
The channel for the people! :)
Yep, really appreciated!
Really great instruction from Mike - embrace everything he says and you will get to your goal!
Keep up the great work, I’m really enjoying your videos and your journey 😊
These are teaching me more about teaching than I’ve ever been taught 🤙🏻
I don't know why people don't talk about the leading wrist as much as Mike, it might be one of the most important thing for ball striking.
The good golfers know!
@@Dietz18 And proof of that is...I'm just learning this! (Meaning I am NOT a good golfer) I hope I can break years of bad habits☹️
It always amazes me that Mike does exactly what he says he's gonna do. He has such great control of his body and club head. Id pay big money (which I'm sure you are) for a coach like him. Glad you found him to teach you these fundamentals.
I have changed my whole Driver swing since i started watching your channel...i have never hit it further and better 😍 Please tell mike thanks for the amazing tips 💪
this is nutso. pure gold
For the love of god never leave Mike
I think this was one of the most informative lessons you’ve taken so far.
My fav channel at mo. Must say Mike's a star.'
So many great tips! Great video
I love Mike. Such a great coach
Your best video yet!👍 Mike is amazing. I (almost) feel like I can figure out the reason for my ball flight after watching him explain to you.
Nice lesson to watch, that’s pretty much what I’ve been applying to my swing recently, and yep I’m still making bad shots but I’m also making some good shots, what’s more important, is that as you practice what he showed today with regards to bowed wrist, hands ahead and turning, it soon becomes a very repeatable standard that you apply each time, once your doing that you may still make bad shots but the bad ones are less and the good ones are more, and when you make those bad shots they start to look somewhat consistent, whereas if you weren’t following these tips and you were eg working on trail foot and then working on lead leg lost up and then working on arms between body etc etc etc, you will have good and bad shots however your bad shots can be all over, topped, thinned, sliced, hooked, which gives you no confidence as that makes you feel like you have no idea what your doing… I honestly like watching both coaches and wouldn’t take credit away from anyone as I can see there all working on good things, I have to say Mikes is a get good quick method. You may not feel like that, but trust me it’s coming…
Mike is a fantastic coach. He knows his stuff. You cracked the hardest nut in golf, finding a good coach who knows how to teach and is really interested in you getting better. Most coaches out there are more interested in getting paid than you actually getting better, in fact, many will drag you on so that they can get paid more. Wish I could find a Mike in my neck of the woods. Cheers.
Great video. I feel like im on this journey with you. Makes me really want to hit the range.
Outstanding teacher…genuine understanding of all the mechanics and able to explain them in simple English….I could use a few lessons from him, I’m stuck at 15 handicap and I’m sure it’s a few basic things I keep doing wrong!
Great coaching session. This is a keeper.
i have literrally saved all your training videos with mike into a playlist to watch when im at the range!! the mans a genius its truly incredible to watch!
This guy is the best golf coach I have seen on You Tube
Great lesson. Some good points to go and practice 👌
Brother man I'm having an absolute blast watching your content and seeing you improve. Thank you so much for uploading lessons with world class coaches. I've picked up golf around the same time as you! I'm pulling for you brother, you're a hell of an athlete! What a great game to learn!
You got it! Even greater content coming soon :)
Man, you are very lucky to have this so early. People spend a lifetime and can't figure it out. Becoming scratch still won't be easy. But I do wish you the best.
Many thanks for sharing this with all. This is masterclass material.
Keep it up Jerome! The wrist thing is hard! Took me weeks and I still revert to bad habits if I don't practice it.
Mike says he’s proud of you Jerome! Good job 👍 keep it going and decide which you want to do grip or wrist then focus on exercise and drills to strengthen that option to get good progress 🎉
He gives you great knowledge and drills
Thank you for making these videos.
For years to come :)
Fold my wrist and keep my right elbow as close to my right knee as possible, while still swinging hard, then throw the ball. This has changed everything thing for me. I still shoot stiff irons only. No woods/hybrids. I used to worry about stingers but from this I can shoot my 200 yd 6 irons without worry about slicing. Just dragging my front hand, I feel like I'm shoveling the ball down range with my back hand. Like I'm scooping the ball towards the target.
I like Mike!👍🏼
I love it, keep it going!!
S2 until i die haha
Thanks!
HEY jEROME LOVING THE PROGRESS GREAT MENTAL TALK . GREETING FROM FARGO ND USA
Mike is real just became a sub
Curious on Mike‘s opinion abt training aides like “precision impact” or “gravity fit”. Do u use them for ur practice?
I really enjoy all the videos of the lessons with Mike. He reminds me of Henry Winkler as the coach in Waterboy 😂
Hello! @JeromeRufin What is your golf hcp right now?
Mike is fuckin awesome. I’m thinking I might need a little weekend trip to San Diego for a lesson from him. The way he breaks down the basics of whist bow and rotation are so good for a solid foundation of ball striking.
Sad to hear about the future plans of replacing this range with top golf. So many good memories hitting balls with my highschool team here.
Good job J. Golf is hard but work harder brotha! Gives me the strength to not give up too 😂
Jerome I hope your giving Mike a residual on these because these are the top fundamentals of golf. I actually unsubscribed because it just felt painful to watch you trying to advance without anytime on the course. But I realize it’s the same frustration I feel and trying to do a complex action without understanding why. Mike is telling you over and over why and then giving you ways to achieve.
My wrists weren’t even on the radar screen prior to these video’s. Today he gave you 75% of all you ever need to know!
So let’s do it.
I still think this is a three to five year project but if you can get in the 80’s and understand every shot the pleasure of the game more than the number will be worth the effort. 43:56
Curious, is there any good golfers that dont bow the wrist? I really would like to know. I feel like the wrist bow was a game changer for me.
Isn't this instructor's name Mike Wydra? The beginning of the vid show Mike "Wyde".
I wish each expert had their own playlist.
I would kill for a lesson with the big dog.
Loved how he included “a half” after the “7”… 😅
Dat squirrel at the end
No more golftec. Stick with Mike, play a lot, be patient with yourself, and have fun.
Mike's last name?
What part of the country are you guys working from?
Wydra…. Mike has his own videos and everyone of it is great.
San Diego
All I know is you better appreciate the help that you're getting because any one of us watching these videos would kill to have these coaches I kill myself at the range 3 to 4 days a week just to try to be efficient player
It seems you really want to keep switching back to a really strong grip instead of listening to what he's saying. Trust him and focus on that flexed wrist. I realized many years ago how important having a flexed wrist is and haven't looked back. I went from a hacker to a pretty decent golfer bc of it.
This is the last video with Mike😢😢😢😢
yeah, not sure if Jerome ever really practiced all those little drills that build a solid foundation, too impacient. I’d love to see the progress of a student who does all the stuff and drills Mike teaches for a few months, I guess this would be a killer swing.
Mike is great coach but it seems the pace of teaching is too fast for John
Golf is tough, hang in there and have patience. Get the fundamentals locked and you'll be grateful later. It's not a race.
He spent more time coaching you in this one lesson than he did in my 6 1 hour lessons. Must be cause the cameras are on. SMH!! I should have saved my money and just watched your videos LMAO!!!
There are students that are just uncoachable
@@broccoliaugratin bro I had just started golfing and he would spend 10-15 minutes of a lesson out of an hour talking and then watching me swing once or twice and be done. You can’t coach anything by watching a couple swings especially with a beginning golfer. Don’t try and justify that. I still paid for an hour.
@@broccoliaugratin it also looks like out of 7 yelp reviews a few other beginners had the same experience.
Comment for the algorithm. What improvement do you notice most?
Are you scratch yet?
Dude you have to show great enthusiasm to change use the new grip and method. Dont do half heartedly..
I'm so glad I was taught by a pga tour professional basically for free in high school because watching this feels like going to the Dr's for a simple stomach ache but next thing u know they want you to schedule seeing 3 different specialist, each leading you to believe something different and you finally realize that they are all full of shit, lol! 😂
Mike needs his own channel!!!, @jeromerufin I'll still follow you don't worry. But Mike's explainations on mechanics is just too good. Other video's are telling you tips on how to fix a bad swing or part of the mechanics. I feel like I finally understand the basics after 2 years of heavy youtube golf learning. I can't thank you enough!
