  • Western Inspirations to Rabindra Sangeet’- is a unique compilation of some popular Rabindra Sangeet garnished with profound melodies which have their roots in Classical European Folks. Classical western music, especially Scottish and Irish folk songs had provided a great source of inspiration to Rabindranath Tagore. The emotional modulation of voice and English music deeply inspired him to introduce western music in the arena of Indian music giving rise to a number of finely blended melodious Rabindra Sangeet. Here we present a collection of such seventeenth and eighteenth century aboriginal classical western songs with lyrics followed by the respective inspired popular Rabindra Sangeet.

arijit das when all the notes and tempos are stolen mercilessly without the consent of the original creator it is plagiarism. He didn’t even give credit to the original tune creators. A burglary is a burglary. And fyi there was a music industry on those days and people used to buy records as a disc shaped device. And he copied every single notes and tempos like Bollywood musicians without having written consent from the original musician.

arijit das the definition of plagiarism is stealing someone else’s work without prior consent. Show me a solid and unambiguously written reference/proof where Tagore took consent from the original western musicians. If you can’t show proof Tagore is definitely guilty of burglary.
