I remember watching some of the Dev's devlogs. It's amazing he made the whole game from scratch with no enginee, he also explains how he implemented a bunch of the features in the game, pretty educational
Been following him for years. Really puts into perspective how much work goes into indie projects like these
Ffs fgggggggggf
No engines ? None ? Nothing.. just straight up coding with no backbone, no engine, no architecture ??? If that is how it happened.. then yeah this is insanely good game. I find it hard to believe that is the case though .
@@rjboxxer1502 Many games are made with no engine. It doesn't mean that you start from 0, people generally use backends like OpenGL, Vulkan or Direct X, to handle the actual rendering.
@@VictorRodriguez-zp2do correct. In other words this isn’t a “ 1 dev game “. Is someone uses unreal engine and makes a little Pac-Man clone. Would people chime “ wow. This guy is insane. He made this all by himself. “? Of course not, at that point you’re little more than a modder. And let’s be honest this game isn’t even a game. It’s a school project at best. So yeah a “ modder “ using copied code from valheim should be able to do it over a couple weekends,
So I'm watchin' this video here, thinkin' "wow this looks neat, lemme go download the Steam demo..." Then I had to pause this video, because there you were, streamin' at the top of their Steam page! Nice work, Nook!
You just can't get away from me!
@@Nookrium And I don't wanna
"Tell me your secrets peach" LOLOLOL nearly fell off my chair when you said that.
I always appreciate the "made by one dev" thingy, but the game is 15 years late at least.
It didn't feel right to not have the homo in Sapiens so I invited my friend Marc over.
Thank you for using the term "Cave People". Usually people call me the T word after they hear I'm a software developer..
That intro ... Just wow, first time seeing it I thought it was the intro to the game, then I saw the loop and thought "hmm, is this like a new mecha anime or something?" then noticed the sequence beat "wow, seriously someone is trying to one-up Wintergatan - Marble Machine" after a while longer "I bet when it zooms out it will probably say Nookrium while showing all the mechanical pieces moving in place" then it ended ..."wow, this is awesome but also ... now I want to see the whole thing, animation, creation, etc.
Leaving a comment to show some love as everyone should!
❤️❤️
played the demo a while back i love the idea of it and it would be great but it needs rival civilaztions imo
still this game has great potential and imo plays much better than universim
Yep. Gonna buy this one too probably.
this might be the slowest game I've seen you play to date.
And this is why speed mod is a must
Is there a desert environment in this game?
Kept trying to ask how far the tech goes for the game but impossible to get a clear answer on it in the steam discussions. Wondering if it really goes anywhere or just ends as large primitive tribes with one or two big buildings.
You can build castles in the late game so somewhere around the medieval period
@@rallipete the castles were all custom made. I don't think the tech tree goes out that far. I'd be surprised if it got to the first Bronze Age. I know the end goal for the game is to end at Medieval Times
@@brettgoldsmith8584 Ah okay
I like the gameplay but the way the camera works puts me off...
U should have paused thr game and looked around for a better place.

Looks good but your dad jokes were a train wreck.
your stream was ok but that game blows big time
