@@animoments8969 Oh 100%. It wasn't my first anime (I started watching anime around 2013 - 2014 I'd guess), but back then, you couldn't go without hearing about SAO. It was a big deal at the time, and even for somebody who hadn't been very well versed in anime, I had heard a lot about it. We only like to forget about it because current day, people diss on the writing.

@@Vozird there's no (thinking) involved pokemon ,dragon ball and the big 3, was mainstream. 😂 Anime used to air in Japan and not in America not until,I think it was Akira or transformers was aired in America and it was the catalyst for anime being showed to American audience then it got mainstream with the shows I listed got popular. We call in new gen because the same effect the older shows had when they first aired capturing the attention of Americans the new gen is capturing the eyes of the younger American audience just like it did before (new gen) new generation of anime for the new generation of viewers.
@@benjimentv Back then people didn't consider those anime, they were just referred to as cartoons because everything animated was called that. Anime itself was not mainstream back then. If you told anyone that you were watching any other anime than like DB, Pokemon or the big 3, you got bullied.

Understand where your coming from but not everyone is into attack on titan hell I did'nt want to watch it at first cause I thought it was messed up off the trailer alone then even when watching it season 2 becomes some what of a turn off people we know and things we know are'nt what we think they are demon slayer draws people in with it beautiful graphic yes it's just as mess up as attack on titan is put it easier to follow story wise and has beaten one piece in manga sales which mean alot of people love it

When it comes to my hero academia I think it was the start of anime becoming socially Acceptable, or ok to talk about in public, the first domino that fell so to speak, when the MHA anime came out in 2016 I vividly remember seeing my classmates who weren't even anime fans openly talk about MHA prior to 2016 I don't think such a thing was possible you had to still hide you are an anime fan, when it comes to demon slayer I still never watched it in depth but it's blow up was bigger than MHAs, demon slayer videos, and clips kept popping up my feed I couldn't escape it
You had era of animes that pushed it more and more to mainstream, While dragon ball was popular in america (people could watch it on tv) it was not in europe. We in europe had to get in to anime through the big 3 era and anime was very new and unheard about, when people thought about anime it was basically Pokemon (and digimon to a very small degree). Dragon ball was not a thing in europe in 2000-2010 unless you went on youtube and saw the memes of these shows and started watching it from that. In 2013 is when anime grew more and bigger due to Attack on titan and later on leading up to My hero academia, however it was still not mainstream. Basically 2020 is what made anime more recognized and "mainstream" since everyone was basically stuck home and had to get in to new activities. Nowadays I can see kids on rare occasions go around with anime shirts which was unheard about 10 years ago. I will not say its "mainstream" yet since gaming is what is mainstream now and everyone knows about that, not every parents/older people and even younger ones know what anime is and its still a bit fringed.

The issue with egghead for me is that while the emotional moments are great, I prefer a complete emotional arc as opposed to a spread of those moments. Enies lobby was great because it focused on the crew specifically and their growth as both characters but also as their connection with each other.
Also I still think the OG rob lucci vs luffy fight was top 2 fights in one piece, the stakes were insane and the way it was structured was incredible. Only behind luffy vs katakuri imo

While we can all agree that there will never be another BIG THREE like the OG. The closest to the new Gen Big Three are JJK, Demon Slayer and MHA. They have had pretty high sales in Japan and have been the most popular anime overall all over the world

Ok MHA was my first anime but ain’t no way they said it made anime main stream. Bro DBZ, the big three, demon slayer, Hunter x Hunter, and JJK were what made it main stream recently.
That is like 3 different time periods, even when dragon ball came out in the late 1980s no one knew what it was since it was in japan only until it spread over to america, and even then europe didn't grow up with dbz but had to go on youtube to even know about it through memes and rather got in to the big 3 instead. Then in 2013 when AoT came out it got gradually more popular and then Mha which then lead up to demon slayer and JJK in the corona times (biggest growth because everyone was locked inside). To say it more correctly there were waves of big animes that pushed it more and more to mainstream and even today anime is still fringed, sure its more acceptable but that is more in the gen z and alpha. What is meanstream is actually gaming since you can find complete random normies that has at some point played games, you don't do that with anime.
Anime and Manga would NOT be as big as it is if not for Dragonball. That's a fact.

Gear 5 vs MUI as far as which is handled better. Considering that the entire concept of MUI requires Goku to take multiple steps back in development (he was literally taught "UI" by Mr Popo back in original Dragon Ball, just not by the name UI.), I'd say that Gear 5 was handled better.

All anime gradually made itself more main stream. From dbz, one piece, naruto, aot, demon slayer, mha and hell even Toonami. Every single one of them helped paved the road. Ain't just one show that took all the glory.
Even pop references in games like League of legends had a lot of anime references like Katarina (first gen champion) has an ability called "Shunpo" which is taken directly from Bleach. The Ezreal dance is based on Haruhi, and the super galaxy Rumble skin has voice lines inspired by gurren lagann, etc. So not only did anime get bigger but it got mentioned in games too

To me, Egghead still lacks the emotional weight which arcs like Marineford, Enies Lobby or even Wano had. Kuma backstory and Bonney stuff was definitely emotional but it was mostly through flashbacks. We need some present emotional moments as well.
Kuma story is a retcon, Bonney saw Kuma during sabaody arc and did nothing + he was a warlord too and never did she go after him until much later.. Oda just trolling at this point as egghead is not even close to one piece's best arcs given how flawed it is.

As someone who grew up watching anime, JoJo made everyone and their mother in my high school start watching. And you can be sure they skipped to part 3. Had people asking me about anime recommendations like I was dealing.

Currently, the absolute MAXIMUM of JJK [Gojo and Sukuna (without wank)] is City - Large City level and MHS or Faster Than Lightning.
Deku, scaling from Star and Stripe and Shigaraki, who at this point are damn near fodder compared to current Shiggy and Deku, is at MINIMUM Large City - Small Country level and relativistic.
To really put things into perspective; in Season 6 of MHA, when Shigaraki had just woken up, he and destroyed a mountain. Meanwhile, Sukuna can only do something similar with Malevolent Shrine, or the . Keep in mind, Shigaraki has gotten several orders of magnitude more powerful than he was back then.
By the way, Deku actually has a way through infinity: waiting for Gojo to use Unlimited Void, tanking it (he can tank it by using the vestiges the same way Sukuna used Megumi), then attacking while Limitless is down.
In conclusion, Deku one shots everyone in JJK into the shadow realm.

Not really unfair when discussing the whole Yonko vs Admiral thing. Kaido fought the same guy with toon force and still pushed Luffy to his limits. Kizaru took a few blows and while he isn’t down for the count he’s not in fighting condition anymore. And a lot of people including myself see Luffy as the current weakest Yonko (not including Buggy). That’s not to say Admirals have no hope because they still have Akainu.
@@SpaceTriangles67 but your forgetting that was Luffy first time in gear 5 and literally shown Zoro and Sanji gotten stronger than were in egghead. So meaning they were training and obvs Luffy will too, so egghead Luffy is far stronger than wano gear 5 Luffy.
@@Swagjutsusolosfiction Even then it took the Bajrang gun to put Kaido down. Luffy threw some strong but fairly normal punches to take Kizaru out of the fight. Even if Luffy was massively stronger the two attacks simply aren't comparable in power. Plus I'd say arguably from what's been shown so far Wano gear 5 looks stronger. Because while what he's doing now is crazy he did just as crazy stuff vs Kaido a stronger opponent.

MHA introduced a lot of the younger generation to anime but it certainly did not make anime mainstream 😂… if anything, what made anime mainstream was the shift to seasonal release schedules and streaming. All the new gen series are under 100 episodes and widely available, of course they’re more popular lol.

6. Gear 5 is literally a retcon that breaks the story. The Gorosei basically just left Luffy to his own devices for 1000+ chapters knowing he possessed that rare fruit. UI is superior in all aspects.
