    The front foot rule has been modified much later.
    Earlier many bowlers got the advantage of over stepping.

      @@imcalledtalha8688 as far as I know the old rule was the back foot had to be inside the bowling crease. Kindly confirm yourself from other sources.

      The leg side fielding restriction is the same regardless of over the wicket or around the wicket.

    btw if the ball bounces outside of the pitch , insted of wide ball it is considerd as no ball .

      david warner no the ball won't be counted as legal. But whenever a batsman plays a no ball, it does count in his deliveries faced column. No where else.

    Aren't there run penalties associated with no balls?
    Are all the penalties the same or are there different run penalties associated with different offenses listed in the video? I'm very new to this pretty cool game.

      4 months later but to answer your question:
      All no balls award the batting team 1 run. In limited overs cricket for most no balls the batsman also receives a free hit the next legal ball - the only way they can get out is if they are run out.

    You missed two other method of no ball.one if the ball fly above the hip without bouncing ground and another one is if the ball bounce two much which is go above the head,it also be call no ball when if baller bounce twice to the batsman which is go near to head

      That's actually redundant. The aim is to make sure that the bowler doesn't bowl from say, 5 feet from the return crease. If your back-foot is within the return crease, then you really can't stray too far from the pitch. Furthermore, it is very hard, if not impossible -- in my opinion -- to bowl legally towards the batsman with your back-foot within the popping crease, but your front foot outside it.

    If a batsman got booked out on no ball and he came out of the crease without realizing it is legal delivery . Then the keeper collected the ball and hit the stumps fully and asking for runout . Is it run out or stump it ?

      The foot position is checked just when any part of the foot lands, where it stops is irrelevant.

      Sahil Bisht according to new rules, YES. Initially when the free hits were introduced, there were certain descripancies. Also, as the above commenter said, free hits only apply in limited overs cricket. That is, T20 or ODIs

    I swear i've seen matches where the ball has bounced 2 or more times and been ruled a DEAD BALL rather then a no ball. Same when they have accidentally hit the stumps. But now I am seriously doubting my memory..

      It depends. Some tournaments have specific rules about bouncers per over, but it's not actually in the rules of cricket. If it's so high that it's out of the batsman's reach, it's a wide.
