    I quickly changed for ergo grips (without the horns) when I got my Brompton last summer. It made a huge difference in stability and is much more comfortable for the hands. A must have!

    Chris, I totally agree with your three upgrade suggestions and I have done them all. For the Ergon GP2 grip, there are two sizes to choose from. I have ERGON GP2-S grip which is 94.5mm in length which should fit those who have glove size 6.5-8.5(S/M). The other GP2 ls large grip which is 102mm and should fit glove size 8.5-10.5(L/XL) Both sides of the grip are of the same length. The GP2-S grips are mounted on my M handle bar. When the proper adjustment of the horn angle is properly set, the grip will not touch the ground when the Brompton is in folded position. Thus no interference when pushing or pulling the bike in folded positions. The end stop of the grip is not removable so you can't mount rear mirror with the grip.

    • @ChrisbyBike
      @ChrisbyBike  Před 2 lety

      Hi P Wong
      It does require an angle adjustment. If you use a bigger easy wheels you gain more leverage.
      About the mirror. There is a helmet mirror and a arm mirror that you can use if you like it.

    Sorry I've been absent. I'm trying to watch all your videos in the background to keep the algorithm going but I really appreciate your content still. I finally got to go to a shop with demo bikes and you were right, telescopic seat post is the only option for me haha also I wouldn't have bought an M because it wasn't comfortable at all to me but he happened to have an H demo bike as well! I'm in love and I even found an H6R in Raw Laquer (identical bike to Victor's) brand new at a bike shop and I'm planning a road trip to go pick it up since they don't do any shipping of Brompton. Definitely want more comfortable grips to rest my hands on so this will be my first modification. Thanks for the suggestion!

      @@ChrisbyBike I went back and checked and this bike is not the Black Edition like Victor but otherwise it's the same bike haha. Yes it is gorgeous and I think to an uninformed eye it would look like an unfinished bike so perhaps less apt to be stolen? I'm actually considering things to do to the bike to make it look less desirable such as paint the handlebars and seatpost brown so at a quick glance they look rusted or something? I need to go back and watch your video with the grips as well. I've seen two different versions from this same brand (ergon?) and one has longer prongs... though if you don't need the longer prongs (horns, upward jutting bits, idk what they are called) as much as you ride, I don't think I need them either!
      I'm trying to figure out to maybe take the rack off the bike and get the EZ wheel double Fender wheel along with the EZ Wheels. I didn't realize they were more narrow than the stock Brompton wheels that my heel almost brushes on the right side but it makes sense!

    • @ChrisbyBike
      @ChrisbyBike  Před 3 lety +1

      Hi NoZenith
      Do not worry about making your Brompton less thief desired. Your bike will be always with you. It will be no need to leave lock outside, and that's the beauty of the Brompton.
      The big horns make it harder to fold, no need.
      Today's video is about EasyWheel and why my right shoes use to get stuck on original Brompton Wheel.

    The one with the horn will not work with the M version handle bar. It will hit the floor when folding.

      Hi,
      To work, you have to upgrade to bigger easy weels, this will give the hight necessary to install the GP2.
      Nice to have you on board!

      @@ChrisbyBike Actually it works. Need to adjust the shifters onward to the max but it is still very close to the floor and the grip gets scratch easy.

      You got to adjust letting a finger of distance from the floor.
      Tourn it until it fits right 👍🏻😊
