Montrisha Bethea The ironic thing is that there are many people with the same or even lower IQs than those with downs syndrome (between 60 to 80), but because they don't have any features that particularly stick out, they're treated just like anyone else and are assumed to have a normal IQ. Having a stutter really has nothing to do with IQ either, yet it's the first thing people love to use against those with DS. It's sad that society can be so tough towards those who are differently abled, but hopefully people like Frank are gradually changing things for the better.

This is totally true, they are same like us,and really, best part of us. Full, pure love and happiness and joy. I have a son with Mosaicisme of SyDown, I never had seen someone like him before, he changed not only our life , he change the lives of many people around us. He is pure goodness , love and happiness as all other people like him. He loved music, dancing, video games and he was passionate about things as all of us are. Sadly he is not anymore here with us, except in our hearts, he passed away on 5th July 2022 . But he forever changed our lives and the lives of many people who know him. We will never forget him, and life will never be the same again without him. I want to say that: It's a shame that anyone in this world has to justify their existence. Especially human beings who are in many ways better than most of us who still walk this planet. We have to change that.

You yourself is an inspiration to me as was my brother, you my brother and all who have downs syndrome are a gift from god, we need to learn from you all how to love each other the way you do.

An atheist is someone who pathologically believes it is better for people like Frank to be murdered in the womb. Although atheism is a personality disorder and mental illness, it unfortunately isn't recognised as such by the DSM-V (some of the DSM authors are atheist, so there is a conflict of interest).

Yes, indeed!! I am, like many people, deeply uneasy to hear statements from Iceland (??) I think it was, "we have zero Down Syndrome children.." And that is because all fetuses tested who show signs of the extra chromosome marker for Downs are, routinely aborted. I cannot explain in words just why this idea bothers me so much?? Maybe because I have met and interacted w/ Downs neighbors. And I can see what these cool men and women bring to the table, as Frank so wisely points out to people who do NOT know. Or, do not care to know. Nice going, buddy...Keep educating us all....

yes...when i was pregnant Dr. Soffici in Santa Barbara told me a list of negative 'hazards' and reasons why I should terminate my pregnancy (I was 5 months pregnant), bc he was sure the baby i was carrying would have down syndrome, and he did so in front of my then 7 and 5 year olds!! I was shocked that he could legally/ethically make such direct opinions, he was so unprofessional and blatantly racist and discriminating. I saw other mothers in another room crying because they had the same experience with Dr. Soffici. Of course I did not terminate my pregnancy and my son is full of life, smart, musical, and loves life.

Pass for me. Raising a child is very difficult. I would 100% uses the screening.
IMO you are setting yourself up for challanges for your forseable future.
Where do people with DS go when their loved ones die? Into a system. If I hold my son or daughter for the first time that not what I want to be forecasting.

@@mylittlespectacle Wtf u are talking about? Are you one of those pro-life people? He's not talking about killing a disabled person after birth. There's the technology now to detect if the baby will be born with a disability and can abort it before it is born. What good would it be to give birth to a person with a mental disabilty. It will be a life of anguish for that person and his/her family. I know that because i have a relative with down syndrome. Do u have anybody with a disabilty in your family and you have to look after them until they or you die? What's it gonna be when there's no one lef to take care of that person? Not every down syndrome person is intelligent and self-aware as this guy in the video. Get off your high horse and face the facts
