- It was love at first sight for Nick and Gabi when they met at a conference for people with Down Syndrome. Unfortunately, they didn't swap contact information, so when the conference was over, it was up to their mothers to bring them back together. The two had an emotional reunion in a video that went viral, and Kelly Clarkson recreates that magical moment with another surprise reunion for the couple.

Having a Down syndrome sibling I can shed some light. It’s not really that pure but it is innocent. Don’t get me wrong they’re are very capable of love and feelings but all the romanticism is performative. Purely imitating what they see elsewhere - especially from media depictions of romance and ‘love’. Members of my own family encourage my sibling to behave in ways that is seen as cute but in reality it’s manipulative entertainment - which is all this is.

That's the gift that people with down syndrome have and I think it's God's way of showing the world what we should be like.
They love each other so much and it is a sweet thing to see. When I saw the reunion at the airport I cried and looking at this now I am crying. I wish them all the happiness in the world.

I love these two and their moms also! My Uncle has Down syndrome and he is the best person I know! He works 2 jobs, has his own assisted living apartment, and he and his girlfriend go on Cruises together and love bird watching! I am so proud of him and I am glad he is living his best life!
my aunt had down sydrome, she never was interested in starting a family, but she loved spending time with my grandma! my aunt had too many health problems that came with her Down syndrome and sadly one of them was a weak immune system, which did lead to her passing. but she definitely taught me many valuable life lessons such as, live life to the fullest, don’t let small things tear you down, and to always live an cherish those around you

Jesus just bought an amazing man into my life. He is so kind and loving. It is just what I needed. I am 71 years young and he is 60. I asked him if he knew how old I was. Even though I am older he is OK with it. I thank the Lord for him. We Said we would just be friends at first but that is changing. My wonderful husband Bob who is with Jesus in heaven. He would be so happy for me. He wanted me find someone to love like he did. Yes we are waiting for marriage to make love. We aren't going to sin but be complete in Jesus

My son was just born 3 months ago and he was diagnosed with Down syndrome at birth, he’s my first baby and the diagnosis was exactly how Nicks mom explained it I cried I still do at times you feel anger you feel sad & love but I never loose hope. My baby boy 👦🏻 is thriving and he is so loving already & loves to laugh, I can’t wait to see our future. These families are very inspiring for mothers who have a diagnosis like them 💙💛🙏🏼

I've worked with people with developmental disabilities for years, and they are honestly so inspiring. And unfortunately, some of my individuals over the years haven't had any family around to support them. This whole situation is so incredibly heartwarming, and I'm so happy for the two of them.

God creates the most perfect people, Gabby and Nick are pure angels. We are blessed to witness this true unconditional love and l wish them both the most amazing life. As a mother, we all want our children to be the best they can be, then they turn around and surprise us with unimaginable gifts from the heart and taught us that they are better than what we imagined.

My nephew has Down Syndrome. He is such a joy to be around, he makes everyday amazing! He is only 2 and a half, he knows sign language, and he dances, Just so much joy!

I love observing children with Down syndrome. They just radiate so much light and love. They’re so pure, I just love being around that kind of innocence. It’s different from that of a regular child.

I was blessed to have a 30 year career collaborating with some of the most wonderful parents, grandparents, and of course, my wonderfully precious students. ♥️🤗🙏🏽

Exactly! People who have a Downs diagnosis or an Asperger's/ASD diagnosis aren't DISabled, we're just DIFFERENTLY abled. I got my Asperger's diagnosis when I was nine. I'm now 24.

I was actually in a school where there were children with disabilities and especially Down syndrome integrated to other classes and as a child I was really scared of them and thankful they weren’t in my class but one day because my teacher was sick I had to go to that class because we got divided and I actually spent time with them and I was really scared at first but as we drew and played games I just realized how beautiful they are and we’re no different at all !!! The way that little boy showed me so much love was so crazily beautiful that it’s still one of the memories I remember from my 3rd grade!! He LOVED hugs and attention and just love from other people.
This is so beautiful! Underscores the importance of integration, of kids that are “different“ and kids that are “normal“, whatever those labels might mean… I appreciate that very much!

My little girl is 3 and I hope she finds someone that loves her this much someday. This made me sooo happy. Keeping my child with special needs despite the doctor’s recommendations is the best thing I’ve ever done. I think she leaves a little impact on everyone she meets ❤️

Couldn't agree more! I had people asking me why I didn't get the testing done. In my mind it would make no difference to me.
For me I'd want to know so that I could get more info and look into support networks before I'm sleepless and busy taking care of a newborn. I like that modern medicine gives us the choice to know ahead of time or not. But like the mom in this segment said, they've gotta stop automatically framing it as a negative thing if they come back with a diagnosis.

I tested with my daughter that I’m currently pregnant with. It’s not because i would’ve done anything different but I wanted to be prepared prior to her birth for whatever obstacles we may face.

I just retired from 30 years of being a professional firefighter, but……before that carreer, I worked with people with developmental disabilities and for 20 + years coached Special Olympic Swimming. I totally agree with Mom’s statement about there not being any walls. Through my experiences coaching at a Provincial (I am in Canada), National and World Games levels I have seen and felt the laughter, sadness, anger and love that these Mom’s share of their children. I have never danced so much at events! I have seldom recieved such heart felt hugs. I have seldom experienced such joy. My sister is down syndrome but she is blind and autistic. How I wish my sister can find love but she is antisocial and it's because of the blindness. God bless them. U all touch my heart.
My brother is 31 and a highly functional man with Downs he has his annual gala this year here in Orlando and I’m proud to be his date along with our mom&dad 💜🙏🏼 People with Downs give the most amazing didn’t know I needed that hug type of hug💜 such an inspiration these two cuties are! Years ago a relative invited me to volunteer for a weekend with her at camp for special needs young adults. She introduced me to a young man who immediately hugged me..not the hand on a shoulder.it was a big bear hug. I was stunned. My family member said, "Oh, I forgot to tell you. There is no personal space with them." That weekend was an amazing, awakening, humbling, inspiring experience for me with people who showed me not to take myself so seriously and to be more 'free'. They love with their whole being and show it. Amazing people.

I've worked with people with special needsfrom us 42 years I treat them like I want to be treated because they're no different than I am we all have disabilities in some way I look at the covid-19 and how many people have disabilities called fear
I’ve worked with people with specials needs for 15 years and downs are my favorite. They are so passionate and beautiful; either they love you with all of their heart or they do NOT like you AT ALL. They deserve love just like everyone else.
“Pure” is a perfect description of these beautiful folks. I believe that people with developmental disabilities are at a higher soul level than other folks. They are here to teach to love and be loved. 😇😊🥰
I have Worked with people with special abilities for 42 years. I can tell you it is the greatest gift that I could have ever imagined. I was there to help them but I can tell you, in all truth, that they have helped me grow as a human being so much more than I have ever done for them. Absolutely an adorable couple! they are so precious. God bless!
Bev Hart I agree, they do help us grow. I’m mom to an 18yo son born with ACC or agenesis of the corpus callosum. In laymen’s terms mean he’s missing the corpus callosum which is the fibrous band that separates the hemispheres of the brain. Even though I have 3 older children, I have learned so much being Noah’s mom. Not saying it’s always been easy. But I’m such a better person.

My 16 year old daughter has a chromosome micro-deletion. I hope one day she finds someone who loves her as purely as this couple loves one another. Everyone deserves someone to love.

Down Syndrome people are the best. Their is no middle ground with them. It's either they love you or they don't. Their love is always so pure. That's the kind of love regular people have forgotten how to give. Pure and undiluted.
You not only need to supply tissues for your on stage guests but your whole audience. This story is so beautiful. These young people show the rest of the world what love should be.
