    Best engine sounds in my opinion! Detroit 6-71 8-71, Massey Ferguson 135, any American v8. I love all engine sounds those are just the ones that have made my hair stand up or brought me to tears!

    Thanks for sharing.
    Vid is 2 years old as I write.
    It took me years to find and refine chain sharpening.
    I hope you're throwing more chips and less dust now and going through those logs twice as fast at least.
    Sharp chain ... is a big part of the chainsaw game.
    All the best to you and yours in truth
    sincerely
    david

    Love the 500i , can have the best saw ,but if the chain is blunt it means nothing ,Great review.
    Happy New Year 👍

    Love your first point about the sound... should have a snap during idle, quick bark when you squeeze the trigger, and a throaty growl when it gets its teeth in a deep cut. Yes, like motorcycles... they are musical instruments!

    Just bought one of these as I have some bigger wood to cut. Chosen because it was on order and due in the next day. I chose the the 25 inch bar. 😊
    Never had such a powerful saw before.

    The 500i is a really nice saw. I just got the MS 462 and so far I love it. Are you planning on doing some more firewood videos soon? Loving the content so far, keep up the good work!

    I would say that your enjoying the torque more than anything. I dont own the 500i myself but if your going to fall with it they say the suspension kit is the must.

      Wnats the difference between the 500i and the 500i R?
      Just the handle bar?

    • @Hodderville
      @Hodderville Před 2 měsíci +1

      @@TTundragrizzlythe full wrap handle, bigger dogs and maybe something else I’m not sure of. Somehow it adds almost a pound over the basic 500i and I’m not sure how, since both the dogs and handle combined don’t weigh that much. 🤷‍♂️ so I suspect there is something else different too. I’m not sure what it is

    Just wait til you get a proper length bar for that beast. 28 or 32 inch is a starting point for that saw.

  • @Sethhaun78
    @Sethhaun78 Před 5 měsíci

    Woupd agree with you have started to like the 500i..especially for and mainly only fir big wood or qaurter ing big rounds and its weight ,However the best sounding saw is 462 hands down has real authentic saw sound so does the 400 they are the lightest best sawss for daily pro or cuting use...the 500i sounds terrible unless its barried in big logs ..it does sound good at that point ..i have bark box snd max flow ..they realy need 24 or 28 both of them. Mine has full wrap so its downfall is takes up space...i do like it runs cooler than other saws ..261 is hood for bucket or climbing.

  • @AndrewBrowner
    @AndrewBrowner Před 11 měsíci +2

    its an 80cc saw with a 20" bar.. i like my 500i after one day of use, but im running a 32" bar and burying the whole bar taking down oversized poplars.. i think its pretty overkill to pull a 20" bar could go with a ms291 for 1/3 of the price and thatd pull a 20" no issues
    i didnt mind the weight even with a 32" bar i had it in a boom lift doing some cuts never found it too heavy, the bar made it nose heavy so really a heavier saw might balance better with the long bar

  • @tjlovesrachel
    @tjlovesrachel Před 9 měsíci +1

    That’s a nice saw… but you need to get a sharp chain and real load that saw up… all I heard was 4 strokin and rev limiter

    how would you rate the fuel usage compared to a 50 or 60 cc saw/? i know the time cutting would be a lot less with a 80cc saw. but fuel usage per cord of rounds cut any major differences? for someone who is limited out in the woods or a remote cabin.

    Take the rakers down a little - you are not making that saw dig in and work in its power band. Its just loafing running against its rev limit.

    • @johnjeffrey3660
      @johnjeffrey3660 Před měsícem +1

      That’s more than taking rakers down. Probably needs an RS or RM chain. He used it for a year and by the looks of it never sharpened the chain. Look at the dust he’s kicking. A good sharp RS will be throwing noodles…..
