Great series, have you ever tried peat moss in the bed of a trap instead of pads and wax dirt? Have to carry it in an extra bucket but it's light weight and has worked for me in mud. 😊

My husband and I are truly enjoying your new series....setting traps then next day checking them. So many trapping shows just show the setting of the traps and never the catches - boring and not very educational. Keep up the great work. Just been running for a week, 13 raccoons 12 of which were boats, one 22 pounder. 6 possum, 2 beaver and a yote. I’m seeing a lot of boars in my area also.

Northern Minnesota here and we are dealing with steady rain for 5 straight days. Absolutely no snow makes snaring a real challenge

Have you noticed any distemper signs in the raccoon population? Here in Montgomery and southern Christian counties, I’ve been finding dead raccoons in the creeks since October. No sign of death so I figure it’s distemper or maybe even parvo. The drought this year has really did a number on all the critters this year.

Im personally not a fan of checking in the rain, but you gotta check them everyday! I have started to use game cameras to help check some of them for me
Wish we could check with cameras, here we have to physically go out and check them.

I'd like to see that too, it looks like he's using 22 shorts but, sometimes cameras make thing look smaller or larger. I've used 22 CB shorts for close-up dispatching, so they don't go through.

I've had great luck with MB 550 with 4 springs. They've held wolves (unfortunately) too.
