- Snow falling in Kalam and my travel from Kalam to Bahrain during live snowfall was unique and one of the most beautiful part of my travels. #Bahrain_Kalam_road used to be much bad rather i would say there was no road actually but the stones. 38 km long this travel earlier took more than 4 hrs but now after re-construction of this road, travel time has been reduced to 1 hr and 10 minutes. I have shared the same in the form of vlog. We had a chance to visit Kalam in Jan 2020 on the very first day of #snowfall. During snowfall whole this travel from Kalam to Bahrain was memorable and an epic journey.
Don't forget to chain the tires of vehicles when driving on snowy roads. Do not take un-necessary stops and keep moving the car slowly because a stopped car is very difficult to accelerate on snow. Else you should have that power and ability to give a manual push to the car.
Kalam road damaged during 2010 floods. Its construction and rehabilitation delayed and condition worsened when Pak army was crushing TTP in Swat region.
Kalam and its vicinities are very peaceful and worth visiting and this development of road will give a boost to the numbers of tourists in Kalam in coming tourist season.

OH MY GOD!! This isnt the kalaam i had visited few years back. Its looking beautiful all covered in snow. And look at the road...it has all developed. Ive my boots on for it!!

Beautifully after 30 years I saw this area again.
We travelled from behrain to kalam by foot as the road was close due to land sliding.
We were 17 students from Govt jinnah Islamia college Sialkot in 1981.

Good call for the snow chain however consider investing in a 12v tire inflator. Drop the tire pressure where you feel like losing traction and put the air back in when you have a good stretch of road. Nothing beats a 4x4 or having winter tires in a FWD ( Rubber compound for winter tires are softer than the all season tire helping get traction in winter sub zero temps)
Driving continuously on low tire pressure will ruin you tires. You have been warned. Resort to this option when you have no other way to move forward.
