Wasn’t Pippa skeptical too until she got to read the contract and actually talk through it with someone? Then she realized that it’s a legit company run by someone that gives a shit about his employees and is pursuing success.
@simpledj509chromo7 ehhh, that's a bit of a stretch. I remember a point when absolutely none of the talents or the fanbase were happy with Fishman, and the girls basically had to go as a collective and beat some sense into the fish. That was what, the 1st year of the company? Fishman was nearly on the verge of having everyone walk. It's all good now of course.
@@badlatency9979 you got it all backwards. Yes the first year was rough, yes Fishman needs a lot of staff in order to run a company, which he didn't have starting out. When the collective menhera episode happened, Fish beat sense into them not the other way around. The girls stuck around because they understood that behind the scuff there was a man with a dream who actually gave an F. The rest is history, do your reps.
Two days is actually pretty lenient for employment contracts in the US. It's not uncommon for new employees to be given a contract during onboarding which references an employee handbook that they haven't seen yet, and told to sign it on the spot if they want the job. You're supposed to have an opportunity for your own lawyer to review it, but if you ask for that you might lose the offer. But ask for it anyway, because if they deny the opportunity as a condition of hiring, you can get out of almost anything non-standard if it goes to court.
How Fishman signed all these great talents? I guess making Vtuber company itself is not that normal as a business man but like, for all that red flags, he really lucked out. Wow. 😂
Not to take away from the hard works of talent, Sakana, and management behind the scenes, but luck and timing also played a role. From what I can clearly has a knack of seeing potential and being willing to take risks. A consistent theme with many of the talent is well, raw talent, but also the kind of talent that actually benefits from management. Phase connect is lenient and free enough to let authenticity shine through whilst providing guard rails to stop things getting derailed. It seems that many of the talent have fairly bespoke contracts with varying terms suited to what they want and need. While it's not discussed, some of the talent still have separate independent personas with different content like art and music that's adjacent but separate to their role at phase connect. Phase also clearly reinvests its revenue into talent and the corpo broadly. The models get better and better, older talent aren't forgotten with new rigging, models and assets as time goes by. Talent clearly get professional counselling in things like PR and they're made to feel involved with the process and direction of the company. Look at Pippa for example she's shown massive personal growth in many ways. She is still who she is but better able to express herself and handle situations and controversy more easily. I know people like her IRL and it's frankly incredible how management has been able to work with her. Phase might not be as generous (from what we can infer) as say Vshojo but phase will take on much smaller creators or people with no experience and invest in their development. Eimi is a recent example of this. She has no Vtubing and no notable streaming experience before Phase but she nailed her Debut and has been a natural and perfect addition to the community. Sakana also has a marketing background and Phase has nailed marketing punching way above it's weight to the point where it's arguably the 4th largest corpo on the EN side and growing rapidly.
@@SpencerHHO Holy, if it's not copy pasta, I understand you wrote all that from the love and all, but you were on some tangent 🤣 I know it sounds sarcastic and I didn't mean it negative way but, thank you for the ted talk really. They must happy to see fans are really supportive.
Fish is built fucking different when it comes to eyeing talents. Also, the guy is extremely lucky that it's still mindblowing how Phase is only one of the few small agencies still alive and growing to this day knowing how much of a shitfest their first year was.
Currently is probably a better idea having the deep voice loli. I think the main problem is that it might actually crash with Tenma and her whole lolibaba energy.
I think Pippa and Lia talked about it as well. Literally everyone in Gen1 thought it was a scam at first and Sakana basically only hired them because barely anyone applied. Then everyone almost quit within like half a year because of how bad Sakana was at managing a bunch of menhera girls and how little he understood the vtuber industry. They worked themselves up into thinking they were being mistreated and tried to unionize before Sakana talked them down and hired more managers (therapists).
A lot of ex Tsunderia at Phase and with them the lessons learned from it's failure. Dizzy who was a manager and talent at Tsunderia was an advisor to Sakana from the very beginning, becoming a manager then transitioning to talent. From what she's said mixing talent and management roles is a disaster. I'm sure the model exists somewhere but I doubt it's rigged to the manager they call Muumi and I doubt she'll pilot it or have much if any on stream pressence.

Summit this to the clipping contest so that fishman reacts to Uruka calling his company a scam.
