    Thank you for your honesty about the speedometer. We all make mistakes but the important thing is that we learn from them. You show honesty and integrity. Good job, from a fellow vintage Honda mechanic 🧰

    It’s the music for me. I’d tune in to hear this guy talk about how to take out the garbage - this dude rocks it every time!

    Regarding 'doing something twice'..."If it's worth doing... it's worth doing twice!" At least, this is what Jimmy of 'Jimmy's World" (airplane fixer-upper guy) always says whenever he accidentally has to do something over.

    Watching this made me feel like Charlie in Willy Wonka, just as he was bursting through the glass roof of the chocolate factory. That golden ticket winning feeling....

    I'm liking your videos 'cause I'm fixing some things on my 1963 Honda Dream 305. They've been really helpful but I'm finding that you sometimes skip over the things that are really bugging me. Like in re-assembling the throttle with the starter switch that i really find problematic putting back together. And with the throttle resistance spring keeping it in place while re-attaching the throttle cable. If I've missed some vids, please let me know.

    • @two-cargarage
      @two-cargarage  Před 2 lety

      Nope, you haven't missed any videos. When I decided to start making CZcams videos I decided that I wasn't going to make instructional how-to videos, instead I gear them more towards entertainment and general mechanics.
      It's been a year since I assembled the throttle, so I can't really picture it right now in my head. Sorry

    Restoration and rebuild always creates double handling and simple mistakes probably 50% of the excercise. It's all learning by doing as you go. I like your attitude about it, though, yeah you may have edited out the swearing over it, but we understand, that's the fun of the game.

    Drill running counterclockwise is something on many CZcams videos on restorations of old bikes. You might want to consider doing more research before starting tasks...and learn better safety protocols on things like using a press. Given you have real ability, this should be no problema.
    The error on cleaning face of speedo is a serious matter. It's a horrible truth that much of what goes wrong with vintage bikes during restorations is often what we do to them through errors of technique. I was doing a museum quality restoration of a Honda 750 when an engine repairman "helping" took a rotary brush to the case mating surfaces for fast old gasket remnant removal...when I was out of the room. The fit of cases was no longer perfect- and required use of sealant to seal the cases. Ouch.
    The positive is that we can all learn from your mistakes, which takes balls on your part.
    So...kudos.

      without looking at them, I believe there are just phillips head bolts with nuts on the back end that pass through them
