- We finally get to hear the first start of our 1965 Honda CA77 motorcycle. Subscribe to follow along with this restoration/build and all the future ones as well.
After last week's disappointment we dig into the bike to find out what was causing it not to start and make a loud metal noise.
Spoiler Alert: it was the timing all along!
After getting it to run we adjust the clutch and throttle cables, install the rear foot pegs, handlebar grips, and a few other small things.

Fit Ignition points back on it.Points are bulletproof if serviced
It's funny you mention this, that's something I've done to it since building it!
"Wrong again ..." -haha, nice touch
Yea, this channel is just one big record of my failures....but ultimate success!........most of the time.
What color are you thinking for the seat ? Maybe throw some before and after updates in. Can’t wait to see it on the road ! #honda
I debated whether to go with red to match the color or black. I ultimately decided on black because I think the subtlety looks a little better.
I appreciate the advice about before and after pictures and updates, i'll be sure to include those along the way more!
@@two-cargarage not white to match the wheels?
Nice bike
I appreciate it!
Are you the kind of guy who has to burst into the house announcing to anyone who will listen, "I got it started! I got it started!"? Thanks for the ride and tour of the two-garage today.
Haha the wife doesn't care so much, so I'm forced to bottle in my excitement
@@two-cargarage silicone don't hold up to gas
@@catsbyondrepair If you are referring to the sealer I used on the petcock, I forget the specific formula of permatex but it's made to be fuel resistant
You are good sir.
Would be cool to get a matching honda benly from the same year
That would sure add to the collection! But at what point does somebody go from a hobbyist to a collector?
@@two-cargarage when you have one of every color and displacement
P.s. and have shelfs organized with bins in order of front to rear of vehicle separated further by purpose and color.
Oh god somebody save me I'm a collector.

I’m literally working on the exact same bike, where did you get the petcock mounting plate?
good luck and have fun!

Cool bike. I’d ditch that electronic ignition if it’s really a cheapo Amazon Chinese unit. Either get a trusted brand EI or go back to points. You said it doesn’t fit under the cover, right?
They (the ebay company) sent me another unit that did fit then. So the cover is on. Yea I know these can sorta' be hit-or-miss and may just quit one day. As of now though it's timed pretty spot on with a timing light and is functioning fine. The only reason I went to EI is because the bike was missing much of the original parts for the points setup. Thanks for the suggestion and comment!
Motorcycle is defined as a motor vehicle with motive power having a seat or saddle for the use of the rider and designed to travel on not more than three wheels in contact with the ground. ... NHTSA Office of Chief counsel has determined that mopeds and motor-driven bicycles fall into this category.
When you say “we,” who exactly are you referring to?
I'm clearly referring to myself and the whole youtube community that is doing this build with me!
