Bro , you got one helluva a hobby shop to give you that max 8 esc ! I've got the max 8 2200kv combo in my maxx , couldn't be happier !
I have a new combo just sitting around waiting for the right car. I’m putting this on in for sure! Thanks buddy!! That’s a cat pack, it stores voltage for hard trigger pulls. Dumps extra burst of power, definitely install it. 👍
I used the ESC fan on my motor, all I did was unplug it and plug it in that position and it worked no problem
How did you mount the max8 on the chassis? It’s not flat so I guess I can’t use double sided tape?
What batteries did you use?
5cents from me. those small screws will not hold the esc. I had one in me Erevo and well. ESC just escaped from the car when bad landed :D
Goodbye tire foam. I have started plugging the holes with epoxy on my Maxx's. Tires last so much longer
Should drill them mate. Smallest drill bit you have got. Streight through rubber tyre and rim. At .12oclock 6oclock 3oclock 9oclock

Hi, I believe that the thing that you don't know what it is is a capacitor bank, for weak batteries.
My ESC from my Maxx took a dump. Will the Max8 be a good replacement? I'm not planning to run a bigger motor, just run the stock motor and keep using the 3s lipo. Not planning to go big in cell. Thanks for your help!

My max 6 won’t connect how do I plug it into the receiver for everything to work

Mine did not come with a Cappack! Are the Cappacks supposed to be included?
The black thing is a capacitor pack mate. Use batteries with a decent C rating and you don't need the pack.
Bastards gave you a free fan. Gave me nothing with my max6 mate and my fan broke first use lol.

And i want ask you, if you haye the same problem with your Maxx. The big ball Bearings (sealings) are komplete broken! On all 4 tires.

But only the black sealing on all 4 hubs

Not on the max 8 fella its a red plug not your standerd reciver plug.

Max 8 ofc only reason people put VXL 6s is they most likely already have one around from swapping it out of the revo

Haha! Its evil with that gear ratio, it gets hot a little too hot for my liking, 80 degrees +... recentyl changed gears to tame it a little as i couldnt squeeze throttle above halfway

And except the receiver and transmitter, those are decent. I wish I knew this before I bought mine, I wouldn't have bought the LED kit and the link module and with that money I would have paid for the Max8+motor combo!

Anyone figure out how to keep the light kit? Already spent $100 before I realized this stock esc is a time bomb
I don't think you can... Same thing happened to me, I bought the LED kit along with the MAXX, 6 weeks later the ESC died, so I got the Max8 with the 2200KV motor combo. Luckily Traxxas replaced the ESC under warranty so they sent me a new one! But now I have the Traxxas ESC stored in a bag along with the motor and the LED kit as spares.
@@thisIsRC yep I am going the same route. I may buy a 2nd maxx one day and between the two esc s and Traxxas warranty be able to keep one running stock lol
What gearing are you running in the video?
I think it was 24t pinon and 46t spur from memory

It was but i upgraded

The one thing that sucks about changing the ESC on the Maxx, is you can't plug in the light kit into it.
