THANK YOU! The forced agenda the UK media has with rivalry comparisons etc with Haaland do my head in, he's a completely different player.
Yeah and Hojlund ain't ever getting to Haalands level
@@Alex-tn3tqsince when did we use the best striker in the world as a bench mark for how good a player is?
@@celtic69 since that striker was sold last year for less 👍
@@Alex-tn3tqHaaland is on 400k a week and they paid around £40m in agents fees 👍🏼
@@celtic69 Hojlunds on 200k a week and cost £50 million in agent fee 👍
If he scores more than 15 he will have had a great season. Fans are far too spoilt these days, I remember a time when a player would get a full season to acclimatise to the league, these days I see people writing players off after a few pre season games.
Too high if he even gets over 10 in the league and closer 20 all comps + plus assists even that's a good season
Unless you meant all comps. People switch back and forth between league and all comps you never know what they mean 😂
@@mitchellbrough1615 all comps brother 🤝
@celtic69 ah cool I think if gets 15 all comps say 10 in the league with a decent no. of assists (could be like 5-10 in the league) that's a good season.
Imo for his price he should be netting or contributing to 35+ in this season. I actually don’t care if that’s combined goals and assists either
“What is Hojlund? He is a human being”. Thank you for this lovely insight. This is what I come to this channel for
I'm a human being too, maybe they should have hired me instead if that what they were looking for 🤷
Stop being silly, they didn't sign him because he's human, they signed him to bang in goals.

I think opposition and the media need to relax. Nobody talks about how Chelsea spent 105 plus on Enzo and the other 600 or so million spent or 75 million on mudryk. Yet we spend that money and it’s oh United needs to win the quadruple or it’s a failure. Just cause no one cares who anyone else signs. Arsenal spent 100 million on rice ffs.
Lets hope this ridiculous signing doesn't lead to even more FFP trouble and fines.
There's been plenty of that kind of talk with Arsenal as well.
Ten Hag inherited a better team than Arteta did, spent nearly as much, and ETHs talent ID has consisted of his old players from the Eredivisie and now a 70m striker that doesn't score that often
Arsenal severely over performed last year so did United to be fair but liverpool and Chelsea imploded. If the team that won the league with Chelsea or even the champions league with Chelsea had a better chance at winning the league
@@jonzoshokk Arsenal were about best or second best by pretty much all metrics until the last 8 or so games. With the youngest team in the league. They have now strengthened heavily with new signings and everyone's a year older. It sounds a bit like the "Arteta has peaked and should move on" talk we heard after finishing 5th. I would be incredibly surprised if Arsenal are just scrapping for 4th this season. Their depth is pretty great now, with the exception of cover for Saka.
For Hojlund - we shouldn’t expect 20+ goals. What we need immediately is a 9 that can hold up, interplay and press. We definitely need goals - but it matters “where” we need the goals. We have wingers like Rashy and Antony that can cut in and score or run in behind. We need from Hojlund to score goals in the box.
Goals from crosses, transition goal, goals from “movement in the box”. This is key - for our system and profile.
It’s also good that he can interchange and work on the wing.
Expectations: work hard and press relentlessly, hold up play and score 10-15 G+A goal involvements.
Antony is a waste and will not get 10 premier league goals. A 1 trick pony that only ever cuts inside
@@Andy-bf8os Did you say the same thing about Grealish during his first season with City?
If we are lucky with injuries, then I expect RH to bag maybe 10 goals this season, 15+ from rashford, hopefully 10 from Antony, Bruno to bag a few, maybe mount and Casemiro too.
He’ll definitely need time to adapt into a 20+ goal a season number 9.
Top 4, a cup, semi final run in the champs league, and closer to the Prem winners in terms of points would be a great second season for ETH
@@CoconutJewce He's right about Anthony. Poor decision making with only one trick, cutting in and a great left foot curler.
Just not World class.
@CoconutJewce grealish is 28 in September. He's been at city for 2 years hence he made the city move at 26. This kid is 20.
He's not on the same level as Halaand but he's a good player with great potential
Literally the reason they're mainly compared at all is because their names sound similar.
@SpicyDragoon and they're scandinavian, tall and blonde,
It's like perfect fodder for silly agendas
@@cuthelar7453 And they both play the striker position; and they are both left footed; and they both played in Austria; and they both signed for Manchester clubs; and they both have dog called Scooter.
he is 3 years younger than haaland
Haaland is the best goalscorer in world football at his age. You can't compare any player to him
People are clearly making the comparisons with Haaland early so that when Hojlund doesn't score as many goals they can use it as a stick to beat him with
It's the dumbest comparison ever. Let's say City signed a great red haired striker called Jean. United signed a younger ginger haired player called Johan the next year and journalists acted like they were the same player because they had a similar name.
Hojlund is very good at working the channels or getting on the end of through balls. Unfortunately he's not got the composure in front of goal. Haaland is the most efficient finisher in world football. Hojlund is nowhere near that but he can improve. All United attacking players need to improve their shooting and composure. We're good at creating chances but not so good at taking them. The same is happening in preseason.
Yeah they use that tactic with all high price signings
It’s very refreshing to see someone talk about football who has actually played and understands football. Too many keyboard warriors who’ve never stepped foot on the grass at a decent level talking about the game. Credit to you pal!
Haaland - 50M
Hojlund - 72M

@@HumanBeingsRThinkingBeings I’m not a United fan 🤣🤣has all the physical attributes to be a world class goalscorer in a few years, and United always pay 20 mil over what any other club would pay, just the nature of the United tax
i think what people dont understand with the price tag is that with the money we spent , u cant find a striker that is less than 100m in this market . both kolo muani and ramos are 100m+ , oshimen is now quoted 140m and kane with 1 year left is asked for 100m and thats without considering the wages they demand hojlund is on 75k a week . and i know he is raw and i dont think he will compare to haaland unless haaland drops form but he is very talented and i would rather buy a young striker with potential that will play for years to come than a 30 year old who will be gone in a year or 2(thats been utd for the last 7 years)
Exactly I didn't want Kane I wanted a project signing

The fuck
Hi
To speak frankly, don't forget that this guy will play with Mount and Fernandez, in addition to Rashford. As I think any fast and technically skillful player has great chance to succeed while playing such strong attaking midfield.
With Hojlund and Rashford are you really going to play a high line? Of course big teams like City will stick to their guns but teams like Villa who were a bother to Utd last season are really going to be cautious!
That's where Bruno, Mount, Eriksen and Sancho come in
That's where his strength, build and tenacity comes in. He can hold defenders off while bringing Rashford, Antony, Bruno and Mount into the game.
Thanks James for a clear unbiased opinion on Rasmus, we feel the same as you as united fans ofc hoping he smashes it. Rival fans and UK media are just being lazy and comparing him to a haarland is just terrible.
It's just funny though isn't it. Hojland sounds dead ringer like Haaland, and that's simply comedic for our city rivals to try and steal our magic. Intentional or not
@@johnwhalley8270Does it tho? Try sounding it out bro. Both sylables are different. Especially if you go by the mainstream english pronounciation, atleast imo
I share the same opinion re this comparison. Its lame and it says how the british media and otherwise don't do thier dew diligence
It’s fine I’m on purpose so that they can claim he’s terrible when he doesn’t score 20 goals this year. Man United commentary pieces get views. Look at all the pieces defending maguire after Onana bollocked him the other day

What excites me the most as a United fan is that this is the kind of signing that Sir Alex would make, and that made United who they are. Young player with heaps of potential, ready to develop into a star if things go right for him. His size and speed combination is something that is really exciting for me, and he had a faster speed than Rashford last season. I also love the fact that he's a big United fan.

Well thoughtout and refreshing to see an overall balanced point of view. One little peek at the comments and you can tell thats not always the case. The best analysis of Hojlund to United ive seen so far nice work!
Good video, and nice explanation of Hojland and what we could see. I have heard that he is not lacking in the confidence steaks and has a bit of the personality that ETH goes for. But you're right about handling the pressure with him. Fingers crossed for another good (or great) season. I'm getting excited for the start.
Nice analysis. Look forward to seeing how the season pans out with the new addition.
What program did you use for those showcases with the video material? (arrows, circles,...)
"He is a human being." We need to keep that in mind

Same.. Just found it today.. There's only one other decent channel that I watch that delivers really well researched analysis - and i compared it favourably to, say, The Paddock, or others, who generally just deliver the news and chat. Also, this analysis is delivered in an articulate yet comprehensive way. Couldn't sub fast enough.
content has been great recently keep it up mate
Love the new editing style, but what software/ app do u use for the tactics board
Great informative video James 👏🏽
What software are you using Jimbo to help you with the analysis?
Well what a channel and what great analysis. Subbed…. You are the first person who sees that Bruno and Mount will be both in the 8 roles next season, taking in turns those late runs and making us a lot less predictable.
Always forget to like vids in general on CZcams, often just listen to you while doing chores but I was glad to catch the quality content teapot, wildly accurate. Thanks James
What’s the software you use for your tactical board?
This just shows how accurate football manager 23 is , on the first release even before the update in November . He’s a consider a wonder kid , with a high work rate , pace and decent finishing numbers and more importantly he’s already described as a pressing forward . It’s actually remarkable how accurate he description and ability numbers are compared to the player in reality.
Dont they hire or purchase information on players from thousands of scouts?
Great video James. Højlund will be a great signing for Man United. I like how you compare the “Ten Hag striker” in now Højlund to Weghorst and Haller. Great video mate
Nice video really enjoyed it thx!
His career has taken off way too fast. It was only back in 2022 that he had to leave FC Copenhagen because he couldn’t make the starting 11. Yet he has the right drive and mindset and I’m sure wether if he’s a success or not, he’s definitely going to improve being in and around all those great players at Man U.
Countdown to the 1st lazy punditry comparison to Haaland on MOTD... ⏳
great video! what is the app u are using for the analysis?

👍awesome technical analysis. Great stuff😊
This is excellent content. I see him becoming an excellent box poacher first and foremost this season above everyone else. The rest will come. I'm a little concerned however, about the forward players swamping eachothers territorial approach to attack from the sides because they are all fast and are similar. I see him doing less of that this season and getting in via through balls mostly. I do see Rashford left, Hojland central and Greenwood right, as quite a considerable force going forward. I think Greenwood will push Anthony out once he gets back in the team he's a far better finnisher. The team and squad are pretty solid now. After Amrabat, I think they are then only 2 players off the mark and they already might have that coming through the academy. I'd like to see another defender. The forwards and midfield are pretty stacked now. I'd probably look to aquire that young lad Scalvini. Hojland reminds me of Shevchenko.
New Setup/ Camera change looks fuckin class Jim. Looking forward to the new season.
I am really happy with this signing but what scares me is that hojlund's abilities are currently based on only few games. Hopefully he brings best out of other attackers and some goals himself as well!
Looking mighty fine with this new lens james ;)
Its the price tag which confuses people, they expect an expensive no 9 to be an out and out goal machine. Whereas Hojlund has been signed to score goals but its also how he fits in with players around him.
A really nice analysis as opposed to the lazy half arsed journalisim we see from so much if the mainstream media.
I think you did a really good job of highlighting how much ETH is building a squad of players who compliment eachother rather than the previous scattergun approach to signings we've seen. I'm really excited to see how he can change the way we play and help get the most out of rashford antony and bruno.
In transition we could see something similar to the season when rashford martial and greenwood were so dangerous on the break
I love that you began with that beautiful and very needed empathetic and rational take on Holjund. People are too reactive and harsh all too often.
Haaland's more of a goal machine. Hojlund's more of an all-rounder, especially at the age of 20. I'm sure Benni McCarthy will be working on his 1-on-1s, given that his raw pace tends to get him through defences quite often.
All rounder isn't good enough, scoring 36 goals is 😂
@@mattgee1118 city adapted just fine with his disappearances, but he got them to those matches, and that's the difference.
good job best analysis so far!
Can't wait to see him face us Finland again in September. Just a few months ago when he played against us in the match you showed aswell he was doing his breakthrough.
Incredibly insightful ... some comments made that I haven't heard yet and, at least at first view, are eye opening and well founded. I have to believe that you are spot on with this analysis of Hojlund's potential and it has given me a fresh understanding of just why EtH was so excited about his signing.
I really can't wait to see our side begin to take the next step in it's maturity and future success.
Cheers ...
10 goals. 10 assists. Or anything that adds up to 20 goal involvements. Maniacal pressing keeping attacks alive and stopping counters before they happen. That’s what I want from him.
Really great unbiased and thoughtful analysis, James. Think he was a player that ideally we’d have brought in as an understudy. Lot of pressure on the kid especially with us overpaying a little. But he’s got the ingredients to be a great player for us and boy do we need a striker!
Amazing ❤
Insightful analysis. Thanks, James

I truly hate the forced rivalry that the British press is forcing. I have been stating this ever since Hojlund came into the picture of being a striker for United.
I don't want Hojlund to be like Haaland, I want Hojlund to be a striker for Manchester United.
This really was a brilliant analysis and also engaging way to go about telling that analysis, we don't have a lot of data on Hojlund, because he's young and inexperienced, next best thing you can do is to study how Ten Hag's past strikers have been and what his system required. Price seems high but there are enough qualities and boxes ticked and potential.
Can anyone tell about the software he used for showing football tactics

I feel like i say this with most of our signings, but i wish we would of bought him earlier so he could of come on the preseason tour.
Im so hyped for him, im hoping a 15-20 g/a all comps. That would be good start, i really do hope we finally have a young star who doesnt flop immediately.
What a great analysis.
Best Vid on him I saw so even better than most United youtubers
I think he will be very good at United, under the right coaching, development and game time.
Nobody should expect him to be world class or anything right away, i think Hojlund will benefit from the link up play with the likes of Rashford, Mount, and Bruno Fernandez. I think his linkup play and passing is his best strengths currently, after some development i think he can also become a good poacher type of striker.
I think if he gets around 8-14 goals then that would be a great debut season for United.
Nobody should compare him to Haaland(who is the best player in the world), just let Hojlund develop as a player and the results will show as he is clearly very talented.
Do a video about Chermiti?
A new striker for Everton 💙🏴
from what i’ve seen, he’s a pure dyche’s target man. 6 foot 4 extremely strong means he can hold up the ball very well but he is also quite pacy so he can also make some runs in behind which many target man strikers struggle with. obviously no near the level to start every week for a PL club but he will be an exciting prospect for the future for sure
Very nice video.👌
I fucking love you James, you just put out such good content
Things that are concerning is
- Hojlund finishing level
- Hojlund position as a 'spearhead' or bomber
- ETH style that might not so dominating (where we should win the trophy and also our striker win the top scorer)
U can just see how much pressure has to be weighing down on that boys shoulder...Manchester united is soo massive this guy has been goggled millions of times in the last few days...his social media following is growing out through the roof and he is yet to be officially announced...have heart kid and backle up...we will have your back you...old Trafford will write fans charms and songs of your name..you'll have an old Trafford nickname...you will know how it feels to be a united once you set foot on that stadium...GGMU and All the very best to MY BOY RASMUS

I'd love to know how greenwood would fit in this system and if he would naturally fit with hojlund, Antony and mount.

Nice video James, and trust me, if he get fed right he will score goals ;-)
Great video pal 👌 so lazy to compare him to the Norwegian guy but they are very different
Similar views to myself, but your depth in approach and explanation is wonderful
The real narrative should be Hojlund vs Jackson. Both very similar profiles, both very raw (one older than the other ofc), both taking a big step, both being given then chance to be the guy at a huge club, the only big difference is that Hojlund costs 2 times as much
Conveniently left out the fact that Jackson was in the last year of his contract.. Don't Be Daftt❗
@@kenmay5532 I don’t know if he was but ultimately it was a release clause. So you’re saying we could’ve got him for less?
One aspect I would be slightly worried about him is his aerial ability it’s very poor win rate and doesn’t seem to complete in the air as well as he should for guy of his size. Does seem to get out muscled for headers and doesn’t time jumps well. This may be an issue as ten gaff and Onana do like to have that long outlet as an option when build up won’t work. Other than that though I see him as Nunez I said last year he would be crap but in 2 years he’ll be a goal machine and I envisage the same for hojlend
Btw I know he’s not target man but will need to add this aspect to some degree
Hojlund and Haaland are from roughly the same geographical location on planet Earth, so they are exactly the same person, plus, their names start with H and end with D, so there are no excuses if Hojlund doesn't match Haalands level immediately.
Good video
