- Lebanon-based militant group Hezbollah claimed to have hit Iron Dome battery in northern Israel’s Kfar Blum area. The Israeli Defence Forces said the Hezbollah drone strike caused fire on the impact site. Earlier this week, the Iran-backed group fired an anti-tank guided missile at an Israeli intelligence building which it said also resulted in several IDF casualties. Hezbollah is targeting Israel with near-daily rocket and drone attacks.

Typically when armed groups fire at "open space", it's warning shots to show they have the supplies and technology to hit within enemy territory. And it's done to avoid escalating the situation too rapidly.

Iron Dome is designed to combat short range artillery rockets and ballistic missiles. Iron Dome can only hit targets at certain altitudes. Thus, one must deploy low altitude drones or anti tank weapons to take them out.
