also with obsidian, you can use things like syncthing to move your obsidian vault between PCs and android phones seamlessly. you might need to use icloud if you're using iOS though.
Good points! Thank you!!
As it is text based .MD files, in Macos you can search content directly from the spotlight Search box, and open it in Obsidian.
I used it to log everything, even contacts were on my Obsidian vault on my last work.
Awesome update, thanks!
Thanks for watching!
I’ve learned new things in this video. Great work!
Awesome! And thank you! Happy to hear that!
Music: foobar2000 (swiss army knife)
Files: Syncthing
Awesome. I'll check it out. Thank you!
I'm torn between Obsidian and Joplin. I like the way Obsidian stores documents, but Joplin is open source. Joplin does store the documents in a database, but they are just markdown and are easy to export. I was forced to move to Obsidian at work and it was easy to go from Joplin to Obsidian.
It’s been a long time since I’ve tried Joplin and it looks like it’s come a long way. I’ll have to revisit it and consider using it just like Logseq. Thanks for watching!
When I used obsidian, the text files .md were indexed by Spotlight, and that meant that you could just command+space to search for anything even outside Obsidian...
Good point!
you have linux mint right ?
I am a Windows user, and recently switched to Linux ( Linux Mint )
Hey, I do use Linux Mint. That's awesome you recently switched too. How is it going so far for you?
@@LinuxCreativeProject Everything is excellent. But I want to watch a lot of videos to understand a lot about Linux
That's awesome!
In addition to all of this, since the GNOME desktop environment shares many touchpad gestures and launchpad features with macOS, it’ll make the switch a lot easier for Mac users switching over to a major Linux distribution.
Great point. I need to play around with the touchpad gestures
Interesting. BUT your screen video of the apps is sized more like a thumbnail than any screen we can see....
Thanks for the feedback. I’ll fix it next time
hey there . whats ur distro of choice
Right now I’m running Linux Mint Cinnamon
But I want to try PopOS someday
@st_nikolay_pavlov linux mint is a good starting point. I dual boot a Macbook Pro laptop with Mint and Ubuntu Studio. I did a brief distro hopping and then decided to stick with Mint and Studio so that I could learn the FOSS.
@@selwynleacock6601 thx
@@LinuxCreativeProject I would wait until they finish their desktop. I will give it a try too, when it's released.
Wallpaper please
It's on the Patreon now for paid members but email me and I can send it to you as well.
ls. This app I use the most on Linux. At this point it is a habit. I type ls compulsively like a vim user :w's.
Good point! Ls is a must
