The guy had his moments, there was something he was doing that was working. Timing, spacing, extensive matchup/opponent knowledge, execution ... It's out of my paygrade - but he had punk struggling a lot. And good on him. Punk had answers, but wasn't consistent enough - and you gotta give credit where it's due. Forced errors.
Punk talks trash, but if he ever he called my defense 'so bad it's good' I'd take that as a compliment. If I paid Punk $200 for a long set he wouldn't make it into a video.

Butt slam is easy to punish but the reason you keep doing it is because the risk reward is in your favor most of the time if you get a punish counter butt slam into full combo. If you jump back lk me and don't do any other damage, you haven't really given me a reason to stop unless you start doing juggles afterwards.

It was easier to do on reaction but he quickly realised it's still not a reliable answer because the butt slam will cross up at certain ranges and instead land as a counter-hit that immediately leads to a free combo. This left him with three other options: Perfect Parry, Air Throw, Air-2-air light. Two of which leave a very small window for reaction and instead require a read. It's certainly a difficult match-up for Cammy, but if one can consistently time/read the butt-slams, one can easily humble a spamming E.Honda player
On the other hand, I think some characters have an easier time dealing with it. Ryu, Ken and Guile probably has one of, if not the best anti-air punish for it. Marisa can probably just armor through the damn thing and give him a wallop.. so on and so forth.
@@gameclips5734 it's because of headbutt i believe. if you're waiting for buttslam and he spams headbutt instead it can throw you off and vice versa, if you're chilling there you can block headbutt or buttslam without having to do 2 different things

theres no timing to get, the buttslam rises at the same speed but descends at a different with each button, its also why you cant time the parry. either 2 fr faster or 2fr slower and thats more than the active frames of the 2hp

You get a less consistent big punish but considering the timing changes on the drops depending on the weights, I like to neutral jump and use an ariel that his on both sides. Ryu can combo into DP and Lvl3 after too, and you have enough time to realize weather or not its gonna work depending on where Honda ended up.

I'm more surprised that Punk didn't already know all the properties of the butt slam. Never tried to space the headbutts to bait a parry even when punk was clearly fishing for it after every tbag, just threw out command grab whenever punk walked up like he never saw a shimmy before, didn't do any counter-only combos, got destroyed in the corner because you know he was focusing all his energy on an incoming DI, and I'd bet the only reason he didn't get baited into whiffing reversals on defense every time was he was just too slow to realize he had a chance to throw one out. Playing like that and thinking you can talk shit, hope all the TNS players shut him down quick before anyone has to see this tragedy again

I guess it's supposed to be a nod to winning the sumo match by pushing them out (that's how you win in sumo), but then remembers it's a street fight and he actually has to beat their ass
