Good quality vid, as usual. One correction: at 12:47, Maduro is not claiming from Boerasirie river but from the East Bank of the Essequbo river. That would exclude Parika and Hogg Island but include Leguan and Wakanaam. At this point in the video, you are at Tushen (in Essequibo) crossing over into West Metten-Meer-Zorg (in West Demerara). I lived at the next village (East Matten-Meer-Zorg) in my youth. Of course, "not a blade of grass" !! e

The Antyeshti Sanskaar or “last rites” that is performed by Sanaatanis ( Hindus) which are done in accordance with Hindu texts are done in the open air, next to rivers/oceans. The specific rituals in accordance with Hindu scriptures require the pyre and specific quantities of Ghee and Saamagree. This ritual is regarded as the most efficient, purest and least toxic manner to dispose of the remains of the deceased in a most respectful manner. Using a crematorium as is done in North America is a compromise by Hindus because there simply isn’t such accommodation provided, as is available in Guyana, India, Suriname, Trinidad, Fiji, Nepal, South Africa, Indonesia, Vietnam, Malaysia, Myanmar, Sri Lanka and other parts of the world where there is a large Hindu population. Performing the Antyeshti Sanskaar, the way it is done in these countries, is the NORMAL scripturally sanctioned practice, to do it otherwise is the deviation from that practice. Plus the varying weather in North America is a challenge to that. I do not understand why you should suggest that Hindus should change our traditional, cultural and scripturally sanctioned practices. I personally think it is offensive to suggest that, maybe it is just an oversight on your part, I hope.
