Great new toy, Farmer Phil. I love the way you introduce the new attachment to the rest of the family, and hopefully, see the big boss having ago at it too. Stay safe 🙏 😊
That's a mighty job.
The Cyclone did a wonderful job; the field looks like a lawn nice bit of kit.
That's the best topper I've ever seen, super video.
So so good to come home to Farmer 👨🌾 Phil after a busy day.Fantastic videos, and music 🎵 tracks.Good luck 🍀.
Great video, interesting demo, well engineered machine… Fair Play to Major for the design & build, hopefully it works in the Orchard.
The Wiyos, been down this road before. Top song Phil.
The Cyclone is a weapon, great job Fellas, nice tune💯👍👌🙏😎
Really nice drone footage of the callows, might not be simple land Phil but its beautiful country 👌👌. Topper works a treat.
Great video Phil. Topping tidied up the fields. Major topper seems to work well. 👍🏼
Cyclone looks like it did pretty good. I really love that music you had in this video. Very nice.
In a future video you might tell us how you found the grass growth/quality from using it. Mcpa will do a great job if sprayed 3 weeks after. Should use it while we still can.
Gem of a channel, so glad I found you
Great video Phil jaysus she’s some yoke very well built machine very impressive
Goodman phil, well done on getting a demo machine for a job u always wanted too get done, thanks too major, and it done good job too sum difference, keep videos coming
Phil if the rushes is gone to seed you will have twice as much next year lovely machine does a lovely job
Great bit of plant, your old man had a look at the one on our farm when he collected the red 1200.
Brave machinery manufacturer to demo grass land machinery on that farm
That's doing a cracking job on those reeds.
Would be awesome if you got one that you can mount on the front so the tires dont run over the grass first 👍
Farmer phil that is a great job , but there is one thing u can be sure of in few weeks the rushs will come back that is 💯 , unless when they come up to about 18 inches high , get them sprayed with MCPA
Happy 4th of July to all our American friends out there
Cherrs Phil
Ha ha bollox Phillip Stewart yeah make fun
Lol his bro
Lol we watching this
It does a good job to be fair
Just wondering is there any way of permanently getting rid of the rushes. It's wasted land which is a shame
Ive always prefered a bladed topper in preferance to flails for rushes. That looks a very well built machine and you will use less fuel than with a flail.
The young lad is the spit of his father !
Good man Phil ,great video as always you have a nice easy way of explaining things to Rory, well done.
So rewarding.
Nice looking topper
Fine looking machine
Great watching again phill
Phil hit those rushes with mcpa when they grow back we had a huge rush problem and mcpa has wiped them out there horrendous bloody things
If you had the umbilical tractor on that yoke it would be a serious job for wet ground
Thats a mighty machine ....must have a look at one
Obviously for the heavier stuff the cyclone is the job. But ask em for a demo of the 8ft trailed topper for comparison. It's a great job too. Gobbles up stuff no bother.
Farmer phil you should spray the rushes first and then top them off
Some setup
I am Bobby
I think I saw
You once
Adrian
Sed
You where
Good
We had a 10 foot cyclone at the last farm I was on. We had a demo for a day and bought it after that
Now that you have the rushes mulched and when the fresh green rush regrows spray them you have a sprayer , the cheapest way to spray docks is go with quarter rate Alley about the end of august , and as for the big boulders you have a digger 🤷🏻♀️
Have to try the major on your mullet Phil should try the 35 on the topper for some fun
22:53 great interesting content and nice sound track to
Making more rushes you should spray good for cutting of the seed heads can you do a vid of the cattel
Nice topper Phil it's doing a great job
Yes good video farmer Phil
Mind you all your videos are good
Farming in the west - plenty of stone!
Round up spray x2 over 1 month
Disc multiple times
And seed
Great machine easy mow next year
We need a slightly wider one, maybe 5 or 6 rotors. You can see with the slack of the chains how it's riding on the roller.
Great video, interesting demo Seam like a hydraulic arm flail topper ( like farmer P ) would work best for you to knock down this crap and brush and get in between the trees , not worrying about hitting the rocks and brush so much.
7 years!!! i have only been fighting dock for 4 years augh!!!!!
Demo today, buy tomorrow 😀
hi, a sickle mower on the potato planter/harvester Massey would be useful in those rock infested areas maybe.
Good video Phil
Youll have to chain Rory to the 6290 and that'll stop him from meandering across the world hes a great addition to the steward farm, loads of work being done
U should fix t 590 and put a good radio and set of speakers and any young lad would love tat
Needs a side shift or a total offset then you wouldn't run any down but does do a good job.
Ran one on a 390t, definitely put the tractor at its limit
was that an 8ft too
@@kieranosullivan02 yes I believe it was, she was a good bit wider than the 390
What pto was the machine u were running 540 r 1000
If i remember right the machine demanded 1000rpm at the shaft as I had revs quite high whilst using it and had to wear ear protection for the day
If your in the market for a topper you should have a look at alpego flails there are the dogs bollocks as you would say
mcconnel rhino 9 is a good well built topper ..........have one for years .......on ground just like yours .......will make bits of stones the size of concrete blocks ............only ever broke 1 blade .........done thousands of acres with it ......
Well
We have a major muncher and we brought ground with tons of bushes we just got the muncher on the tractor and muncher away at them
You'll have to let bro out on the digger for a week to dig out the stone
I top in reverse. So the tyres don't get a chance to push the crop down.
Thats a cracking machine...... only thing I don't understand how come you have rushes in the first place??
If there was a purpose for Rushes every farmer in SW Ireland would be millionaires. 😂
Is it possible to reverse it around the field? Might help with the wheel problem...
When the rushes grow a bit, spray them and don't spare the spray
Evening!
Can we see the zetor on the major
How about mounting on the front
Could you run that machine on a front linkage, does the roller need to be at the back?
They make a front linkage version
Will that keep them down for a while or will they come back up again
What will you spray with.?mcpa?
👍
6270 would be a good size to put it on
Wat tractor is it on
I am a sligo man 😊
Ye could do a bit of contracting with that
What horse power for 8ft mulcher
Why not use a flail mower?
You won't be able to make st Bridget cross any more😢
Buy a wylie 9ft inline galvanised topper twice the yoke and a lot cheaper than major they are made Beside me serious strong topper Fulton sells them he will do u a good deal on a new one
How did bro get on in the leaving cert
SERIOUSLY, DOES THE AIR FRESHER IN THE CAB ACTUALLY WORK?🚜🚜
Bro is a Topper Patrick 135....Ztr 8111
As said on clarkson Farm.... your tractor to big 😂😂😂
Should sell your taurrup mower to pay towards it
Bog Oak sells for big money
Pity they don’t have one for the front of the tractor, shouldn’t be too hard to adapt it for the front arms.
They do make them for the front links. There was one on the lorry when it was delivered
👍🙂
I wouldn't like to put that on a 390
are you going to punchestown tomrrow
Thursday
Major has something embedded on their site and it just crashes when you try to load it.
I'd say your PTO speed sensor isn't working right on the 6290. No way it should be flat out and not hitting 1000rpm on the shaft
The rpm dial/sensor comes and goes in that tractor
What are the main reasons for rush growth, I'm guessing too acidic and too wet
Wet mostly
@@FARMERPHIL3690 ph has arole to play also
Plus compacted land
Can it mow in reverse?
That model unfortunately not as the roller is on the back
Is that 1000 pto model
it is yes
Rushes are not going to like that hair cut...Greatly add to productivity...
Better weed wiping or spray the rushes they will just come back
Lick of forefront would clean it up nicely
Why can’t ye picks these stones?
Does anyone know how to get the clamp onto the machine for the PTO. The shield on the machine is in the way?
I have one an clamped it on, it was hard tighten the bolts but can b done
@@johnoshea62 what did u use to tighten, at the moment we are putting clamp on tractor side
I used a ring spanner and a rachet, but it was hard, had to wedge the spanner to hold the bolt as no room for 2 hands inside the cover. An the rachet on top to tighten the nut
@@johnoshea62 I’ll give it a try, been clamping on and off tractor for over a year now😂
