My largest project to date.
Join me as I travel solo across the American west in my first full documentary series. In this adventure into the deep history of the the American continent, we will be exploring the stories of ghost towns, indigenous ruins, geologic features and many more sites rarely, if ever, put to camera.

I saw Arizona and I popped off. I’m an Arizona boy myself, and an archaeologist. I’m so excited to see the locations that you chose to explore. It’s a beautiful state and one with a deep archaeological history.

I'm excited about the project, but what really got me was the amount of safety gear you're wearing. I've had a lot of acquaintances who went out and would have been hurt a lot less/still be alive if they'd been wearing the right gear. It's odd what draws some people into videos, but you're always engaging and I'm always glad to binge through your talks as I work.

it’s a really genius concept. There are so many cool places and things to explore that you could add to it indefinitely. I’m seeing grandpa Milo using his cane to point at the blackboard talking about some awesome historical site or bit of North American archaeology.
Absolutely love the new old house by the way and see endless, amazing potential in the studio space.
Small suggestion: splurge for some really nice, heavy velvet curtains on those windows. They would really fit with the vintage ambiance, they are great at muffling echoes and will help with temperature regulation in the room.
I found you randomly through shorts & I just have to say (albeit into the void ;) that i so deeply appreciate your presence on the internet- You're one of a relatively small handfull of creators who give me irl hope for a reality-based social consensus sometime in the future. Or if not a consensus, at least a big enough group of people to form a "side" lol... Im typically chill, but the amount of misinfo and conspiracies and magical-thinking and gullibility and just absolute total lack of discernment or skepticism actually triggers me into oblivion. Everyone, everywhere, is operating in one non-reality or another, and it's so mainstream that it genuinely scares me. People dont seem to worry or think about the impact of having a whole society operate completely outside of reality & its insane.
Anyways, i appreciate your contribution to the...un-normalization of conspiracies and misinfo all while sharing your expertise in a feild I've always been extremely fascinated with and loved (but sadly sucked at, especially in the lab setting). Oh I know I’m gonna love this! Thank you so much for not only showing your passion for archeology and history on the surface, but the as the title suggests dark roots that our very land and homes was built upon, that is so damn important.
I have a feeling that this series will be one to watch with my parents too! My mom being a U.S. History teacher - who focuses her curriculum on those lost stories, those who never had a voice. And my dad who is a science and nature fanatic. And ofc me, a perfect mix between the 2 of them ❤

Mad hype bro. I cannot wait to see what you have to show us. Nature, history, walking the same trails people have done for thousands of years. I cheese about anything old, so I'd imagine for you there was multiple stops along the way. The fossil finding and archeological records out west and incredible! Glad you got to experience it Red Dead 2 style
I love that you're going across some of America because so many people unfortunately ignore all the history and the land here. When people say they're going to travel my mom always asks them if they've even seen the country they live in yet and 9/10 haven't.

And if … those people do travel any regional part of the USA, much let alone across 3000+ miles of it, the flex is how fast they did it. It seeing a fucking thing other then the digits of the fuel pump and GPS pre-directing to a single destination they typed in. Never veering from the GoogleMaps told me …. Like automatons. Milo knows the route is that which unfolds before you with eyes open to curiosities, conversations, crevices in a landform … with no clock per say, and holding to nothing more than a general heading within a given season. Discovering those routes has never failed him …. Offering enrichment, intrigue, enlightenment, and knowledge.
This is all very exciting. Very much fun to be had.

Me and my wife did a trip from Edmonton Alberta Down to Mt Hood and then to the coast and all the way to Vegas then back to Edmontn Via Yellowstone National Park taking as many back roads as possible this summer. I think we spent a total of 2 hours on interstates and it was both amazing and sad, rural America, at least in the west and mid west I guess, is not the picture that most people are seeing of America. I will say, we didn't have a single bad experience with anyone, everyone was so nice, we saw so much extreme poverty though, like entire towns in severe disrepair on a level we have never seen in Canada. Would love to do it again with more time to explore, especially the west coast.

I from the West Coast, and I'm like totally stoked!
When I was about the age you are now, many many many years ago, I got fired from my job. When I told my girl about it she called me a loser and broke up with me. Went home and grabbed a beer to sit and contemplate life as I knew it. It kinda sucked right then. So I did what any sane person would do, I got on my 10yr old dyna and rode to Atlantic City to see the waves. Then I made a left and went to San Francisco to say hi to a friend. Then LA, Texas, Colorado and so on for the next 6 weeks. In New Mexico a fellow societal misfit said we should do a vision quest type dealie. Peyote cures what ails you by kicking your ass first, then explaining why.
You used the term transformative to describe the aftereffects of your road trip, good choice. Funny thing is you haven't even scratched the surface of those changes and I can't wait to see where they lead you next.
