You are so right, it made me so emotional to see them say hi together, nowadays even when they do videos together they are not together in the shot. I missed this.
Solution for the outdoor bulbs: hang a heavy duty "guide" wire up first, then use black zip ties to hang the lights to the guide wire. That way the wire isn't pulling on the lights strand and the weight is more equally dispersed. Then you can add the bulbs after you put the cord up to reduce chances of dropping the wire and thus breaking bulbs. Plus a black guide wire becomes almost invisible when it's hung so no decor problem either!
This is 100% the way to go!! We did this at our house as well after initially planning to just hang it how Becky did. I hadn’t really done any research beforehand but ended up searching for a tutorial and it was so much easier. Ours have been up for 2 years now with no issues!!!
Also, loved getting to hear about the struggle Becky had with the lights. I think it'd be really fun for us to hear the stuff you didn't show in the video back then or what you learned from a specific makeover, what you'd do differently now etc. I think it'd also be fun to take an old makeover project and have that be your inspiration for a new and updated version/ spin on that same project :)
I would love to see a video where you talk through your worst DIYs/renovations and discuss what went wrong and what you'd do differently! Could be really cool/interesting lessons to hear 😊

When it comes to drywall there are different types. The one you used for the hood is the basic stuff (which is probably fine tbh), but the one to use is the red drywall sheets. That's the one that's fire proof. And the blue stuff is the water safe drywall. The grey stuff is the standard stuff.
Wanted to add a note about the string lights! Those kind are meant to be re-enforced with a galvanized steal cable. Bolt the cable up first, then attach the lights to the cable. Had these in my garden for years and, baby.. Zeus can’t even knock ‘em down 😏
I really want to see whats in the rest of the book! Its so thick still.. also, you guys could totally sell this as a style guide merch type thing. So cool
My favorite makeovers are the ones like Gabi’s because one that’s the closest to my style (Victorian/pirate-y/Disneyland vibes) but also because it’s very theme heavy and I love a good theme. Definitely hope you guys do more makeovers like that one.
A trip down memory lane! Your styrofoam wall makeover inspired Ashley (bestdressed) to recreate it at her rental all those years back and that’s how I discovered her! Also, I remember the challenge with your friends’ (all guys) office space - drilling into the concrete walls! They weren’t drywall and you had to switch to a concrete drill and whatnot. I’ve seen all of these makeovers. Such amazing memories!
I freaking loved a lot of these makeovers. Kelsey and Becky the reason Gabi moved out of the Pirate room is because when she asked for it be designed, it was a gift to her bf, now fiancé Colin. They lived in a for a short while and she soon found out that the room aggravated her allergies. So she could breathe better she moved up to another room which was transformed into a princess room for her
Funnily enough I just watched Blake Lively's Life in Looks on Vogue. I love the play you guys did on it, I love seeing how far you both have come and how incredibly your brand has developed. I can't wait to see what the next handful of years hold for you guys!
I think the brown-bathroom-controversy is only a controversy because of the tone of the brown not that it’s actually brown. Because I love a good brown bathroom/space
Tbf, I think visually it does actually look pretty good. It's just that the connotations of that color are... impossible to ignore given what room it's in lmao

Wow I didn’t realize I’ve been watching the channel for so long, it’s fun to look back and see it again, there’s a lot of elements I really love and didn’t focus on the first times around, I’m in love with the kitchen makeover very much and asap science, also the little wall nook and the bar Airbnb makeover are some of my favs there’s lot more that weren’t mentioned in the video, but I love some of the office makeovers, it’s pleasing to see it turn into a productive space, also I love how all the bathroom makeovers have a moody vibe to them, I am all for brown and black and green and wallpaper and wood accent walls

Great video! I recreated your faux brick wall for Halloween a couple years ago and it turned out great! I turned the bathroom into a morgue and the brick wall held the doors to where the bodies were contained. 🤣
I've always loved the brown bathroom! The only thing that I see every time it gets shown off though is the grate laying on the wall uneven because the hole wasn't expanded from the old cover. It's the last final touch that would make it perfect 🤌✨ (unless it can't be cut open further cause of electrical or something, of course. Safety first 😌)

@@SerenityPassion As someone who has had asthma their entire life & is also allergic to some wood, that tracks. I can be around completely dry & deyhydrated wood without oils still trapped in it. But if the oils are still in there, it's a problem, and it's 10x worse if the wood is burning. So I can't do fireplaces.

I haven't seen all of these because I'm a relatively new viewer but I did watch a couple of them and my two favourite ones were the ASAP Science one and the Garage Bar - both of those were so cool and well executed! My best friend and I love thrifting and decor so I really enjoy watching what you two achieve by going all in with a project.
As someone just diving into the interior design/diy world (moving into first owned home in a few weeks) you are both very inspiring for just GOING FOR IT! My bedroom will be navy and lightly space themed, and I'm sooooo excited to make it happen!!

I haven't seen all of these because I'm a relatively new viewer but I did watch a couple of them and my two favourite ones were the ASAP Science one and the Garage Bar - both of those were so cool and well executed! My best friend and I love thrifting and decor so I really enjoy watching what you two achieve by going all in with a project.
