rode 7000 km offroad with it only had to change a spoke in rear wheel, rides like a charm
Max weight 128kg. If you weight a lot, like 90+ kg, and bike itself weight 13, it does not leave much of free weight. and with extra stuff can be exceeded, and spokes can go
bought this bike 6 months ago. it's generally a solid bike as expected from Scott. Great gear ratios for riding fast on paved roads. 45 mm tires helps a lot with bumps and ditches in absence of a front suspension. easy to handle on high speed turns. very light and practical bike for a lifelong MTB rider like me. now the negative aspects. tourney system is disgraceful for such a great bike but at least does the job. brake rotors being 6 bolt and came with slight bent gave me a lot of trouble with rubbing and slowing the bike. how good you set the pads won't solve it. i will try to flatten mine on a cylinder press. wheels/hubs, casette and rotors are not shimano. thinking of a drivetrain upgrade to unlock this bike's full potential as MT500 wheels, claris derailleur, HG41 casette and RT10 rotors by shimano. but since all these will cost 1/3 price of the bike itself, guess i will use the bike as it is for some years until it will require some repair/change. final thoughts, it's a great bike for the price but could be better. recommended for ex MTB users who wants to ride something on city roads that looks more like gravel.
Solid and beefy this is the perfect commuter, gravel, and fitness bike. The weight is ok to help absorb some road feel as well as the meaty tires.

Dayum, this is a more than decent bike , had the 2020 cannondale quick 5 & got that for 620 $ , 2021 720 $ & both have lousy mechanical brakes lol , good bargain, great review

the deore would be a nice upgrade it has a tighter cage and responds quicker the tourney derailer slaps around a little bit more

Shall I get one? I’ve been wanting a hybrid had a specialized before cross trail but looking for more gears and have found the Scott cos compared to the specialized sirrus which only has 16 gears, what’s the quality like build wise as the trek I had before have no end of bearing problems

Daughters Specialized Riprock 20 has the Tourney TX and surprisingly shifts better than the wife’s Scott Scale 970. 😑 😂 That being said, very good commuter for $500. Good stuff GC.

I bought this bike in a size LARGE I’m 5”10 and Scott size chart recommends size Large.
My previous bike GT Aggressor Expert was a Size LARGE also and HUGE.
The Scott is TINY I should of ordered a XXL
Ride quality is crap as well
My GT Agressor was half the price and the ride quality was far better
