Hi, I am also thinking of buying a golf 8. I found this review today and went to the dealer and tested the base 6+1 system compared to tiguan, passat H&k (golf h&k was not availabe at the dealer). Telling the truth h&k was disapponing especially for the price. Lack of real bass. Mids and highs are fine. Golf 6+1 is quite enjoyable...more bass less clarity but quite OK system. I will not pay for h&k. It is strange that vw h&k systems are much worse than they are in other brands (e.g.: volvo) and more expensive.
@@ethvnxavierthe s and the se should have the same base sound system if it’s an earlier model it could have the HK but as he says in the video the HK isn’t really worth the extra price

I am confused as well. The Harman/Kardon system in the golf only gets a C, but the base system gets a B ? Is the Harman really worse ?
I'd have to listen to them back to back, but there's also a degree of value baked into the rating. A B system at $31k might be a C at $40k.

The S base trim does not. You need a wired connection or get a wireless adapter.
