They have no idea how much it costs to get an attorney and sue some one. For starters, an attorney is going to want $500.00 just for a retainer fee. Then there is the $200.00/hr. fee for everything the attorney does. The charges pile up quickly.
$500 for a retainer?! Dang! Where do you live? I live in a small (50k people in our county) rural town and the lawyers here STILL want $2500 - $5000 for a retainer and the hourly billing is $175-$200 an hour.

I suggest the two grown man spend energy picking up their yards and erecting a five foot privacy fence.
Typically, a privacy fence is 6 ft. Putting up a 5 foot fence would be so much more work than necessary and you would still be able to see over it easily therefore defeating the whole purpose of privacy.
Or an electric fence.
My one neighbor had to get special permission from the county to build a 10-foot fence on one side of their property to keep the neighbors form watching them all the time. The neighbors who we all have had running's with swear they are never in the wrong. According to them...we can't have fires (even though we're allowed) because they don't like the smell, can't park on their side of the street even though we have street parking, they told a neighbor 2 doors down they couldn't smoke in their own driveway, the list goes on.
That V8 with 500 HP sounds like a lot of fun.

100% true but also remember a store is not a public place. Most public areas are only outside except places like certain government buildings.

Yes, a store IS a private business, on PRIVATE property, but it is, usually, open to the public during business hours, There for it can reasonably be expected to have no expectation of privacy, except for areas like offices, or restrooms.

About the fence guys, the one thing I heard was the tree fell over onto his property and crushed the fence. Sorry Charlie but even though it was your neighbors tree, when it falls and damages your property it’s now your problem. I’m an Arborist and deal with this issue quite frequently.
