Let us know what you think of this style of content. We would love to start incorporating more of our stream games so if you like this style of video we are more than happy to continue producing them even after our current lockdown ends. Also, we're calling it "Recycled Cardboard" because it's kind of just re-using our stream content and it sounded kind of clever. Anyways, enjoy the video!
I love this style of content. I actually like it better than the narrated games if I have time. What I like about the narrated ones is just how compact you manage to make them . But here too your editing is on point.
Often my environment is less than ideal for the live audio, so the narrated videos are much appreciated by myself. Your channel and playing with power are my favorite cedh content creators for that reason. However, there probably is a good audience for this style content.
The faeburrow elder would have tapped for 4 when phantasmal was copying baleful strix. Not sure if this would have had any impact, but it is something you overlooked
Keep it up I like this way of doing it makes it feel more like a commander game. I have no problem with either way. This way feels like you can feel the pain of the table (ie when you played the drannith Magistrate we heard the cry of the other players) if this is easier I personally would look to see more of this, can't make the streams.
I really thing the quality of this content is much lower. Personaly the "Recycled Cardboard" is not of comparable quality compared to your normal video, the commentaries are not good, the action is much slower, its simply really not the same type of content. BTW your normal video are amazing and i did not say it to put you down; Best mtg channel with SplitSeconds and Playing with power ( the narator/commantator voice really makes the difference)
I like the narrated games more, but this is fine too.
I tend like narrated games cause not as much sound issues
I like the format, the games are longer, but I'm glad I got to hear the "ouf" in the first game!!
“I’m here for a long time, not a good time” got me 😂 also I like this format, but I wouldn’t want to completely lose the narrated ones
Joseph’s voice *chef’s kiss*
Just Joseph overall
I like the raw footage. It’s fun to hear a joke here and there and get some interaction with all of the players
Im more of a fan of the traditional format, I like it when the content is more focused on the gameplay.
I like this format more. The back and forth banter makes me feel like I'm in the pod
This video style is really, really cool. I like getting to see a little deeper into the personalities of the player, and really hope that there are more of these in the future!
A Shadowmage Infiltrator! Lovely!
Quick tip for turns when you are trying to win with combat damage during an angel's grace.
Commander damage is checked as a state base action. So when priority is passed on your end step, angel's grace cesses to fonction and your opponent is dead. Just get rid of those blockers and swing with Chulane :).
i will draw, i will cry... * passes the turn
Yea dude live commentary is where its at, it makes it feel more like a commander game. Gives it a personal touch
Both formats are great. I can't show up for streams due to my work schedule. So having these as a backup would be great! Double the content 😁
I love the comments and jokes while playing EDH. It’s those moments that makes EDH much more fun. I definitely enjoy everything in this video.
Top notch content as always boys, fantastic work. Keep it up 👍👍
I really enjoy this type of content!! Keep it up!
I would enjoy seeing this style a little tighter. Some of the rambling and pauses makes the game feel a bit dragged out. Still was fun to watch.
i actually like this more than the narrated ones^^ feels more personal and i like that :D keep up the great work :)
I like this style of video and I think you release more like this but still make the overdubbed ones.
I love this format! Feels like playing on spelltable with my buds.
Kool-Aid, Teller of Tales
Yes
Yes
always name Jack of Spades on the consultation
I name Pot of Greed as no one knows what it does.
you have to name a card that exists in magic.
Suffer through what Joseph?
That video was awesome!
Personally, I believe that any content coming out from you guys rocks!
Keep it up and stay safe out there 😁👍
I loved this! Keep it up!
Casually competitive is definately my favorite style of gameplay. Optimized but not strictly cedh qhere its the same cards constantly
Came across your OSRS channel recently! Really neat!
I really enjoy this form of narrating!
I think this new format is great
Please do more with Zur, he is a very interesting commander and there aren't much Cedh videos with him. Plus i would like to know how to improve him.
Joseph don't let the haters get to you for pronouncing it right. Keep doing it
ADAM! What is that playmat you are using! Thanks.
I like it. more please!
I prefer the narrated games. I don't watch other channels due to the sound. When Joseph narrates it is clean and concise.
Where can I get that eldrazi mat😍?
Also, appreciate this format as well!
I like hearing the game commentary
I don't watch the streams so I'm a big fan of yall pulling content from it!
As someone who plays a similar Chulane deck, I would love to see more of him on this channel. He's such a fun diverse commander to play.
I enjoyed this style
the chulane deck is quickly becoming one of my favorite decks to pilot. good on ya boys
I'll start by saying great video overall. A few pros and cons and insight to follow and hopefully received as constructive criticism.
1) The stream style play is ok, but as a follower of yours I personally prefer the voice over edited versions of your games. That gives it the "fast paced and entertaining" bit that I think we have all come to love (and maybe expect) out of your videos. That's just a testament to how great your narration is.
2) I now can see how you guys may not understand how WE see the games you play. When you are playing the game, you are thinking through strategy, responding to plays and consumed with navigating the situation before you. All of which makes the gameplay feel engaging and tense. So even if you are angling for a Thoracle win, it feels like it took forever to get there on your end and a hard fought battle as well. HOWEVER, the edited version of your video strips out a lot of the things you guys are experiencing for the sake of keeping viewers engaged (well done as well), but the problem there is that in the edited version, WE see rapid fire plays that drive towards the same Consultation wins over and over and even though there is a battle to get there (and one that was probably extremely fun to endure for the players) watching it can be very underwhelming.
3) Honestly when I saw the deck agendas in the intro I already knew there was a consultation win coming. I'm sure you have stats on just how many games you publish that actually have Consultation/Thoracle/Jace/Lab man as a wincon and it may not even be as many as we viewers perceive, but I gotta tell ya...it seems like a lot. Other subscribers and viewers will surely chime in with "it's cEDH, you play the most viable winning strategy..blah blah" and I get it. If you guys love thoracle style wins...great...play them when you guys get together. For publishing here, I think I am not alone in wanting (hoping) not to see the same style wincon on repeat no matter how different the journey is. It almost always boils down to either have Consultation/Thoracle on the stack and do a counter war to see it resolve or time it when others have expended resources and have no responses to the Consult/Thoracle attempt. Bleh.
4) You guys produce some great looking content and it's always fun to watch. I think you have a great thing going and want nothing but success for you guys.
Did Bill concede, or did you forget about Angel’s Grace?
I like this style of video
I personally like this new commentator style of having the audio of everybody live. It just gives the games that more genuine feel, not to say that your commentating isn't amazing (it is great) but your commentating is the most effective in the post game recap where you cover the pivotal plays of the game. Keep up the great work!
I like this style
I am planning ona tymna sakashima as qell
Other than the many mispronunciations of Chulane, this was a good video:)
The decklist for clone farm has 96 cards in the main deck, I am confusion
They talked about it on stream he forgot to add two lands to the list and apparently still didn't XD
I prefer the more polished games that you usually post, but I'll understand if you end up sticking with these as I'm sure it's far easier.
me: oh cool i wonder when this came out
video: 14 seconds ago
also me: shatters my left click
Looking from outside (which is always the easy way, I know), that Mental Misstep had been revealed with Ad Nauseam, so I'd have played Dark Ritual first and then proceed with Jace only if it resolved. Don't know if it would have changed much, though.
13:57 phantasmal image also copy mana cost, so
Faeburrow Elder give you 4 mana
Havent even started the video and I already know I'd rather have the same guy narrate the game.
I lire the new format but it would be nice to still have the stack on the side during key turns as you used to
That Elder taps for 4 yo!
I like this way better. More natural
I think I like the more polished narration more as well, but I'm sure that's a lot more work on yall so I get if you don't always do it
Man, it’s not a Chulane game if there are lands on the board
Man i hate this total fishing in edh today(consultassa)
Commenting before finishing the video but wow Nate kept a garbage hand.
Hello, fellow Joseph. I’ve been watching your games for a while but never commented til now. Love this stuff!! I have a pretty decent Tormod / Dargo deck, but I’m wondering what it would look like tuned for cedh. If you guys are interested, here’s the deck list www.moxfield.com/decks/qLxulHGitkSg0EiKSjGUFw (The combo key is Mortuary, a janky card nobody’s really heard of.) Keep up the fine work, gentlemen. Much appreciated!
Like this kind of video but Nate was kinda hard to hear in the first round. Other than that it was great 👍
Narrated > This
That Zur list is not it :( if you check out the cEDH subreddit I made a post recently that featured my deck list and it is a lot stronger than the list you guys used. The Zur list used isn’t all that strong and doesn’t use the right creatures to power up the deck, even shimmer Zur would’ve been fine but this wasn’t even that. :((
Joseph you cute af but bro you need to get some sleep. Your eyes are surrounded by suffering! Feel better man, self-care is important.
i'd prefer edited video, becayse the sound quality if your voice is much better
A bit too much random chatter, made it a bit tough to keep up with the gameplay when not looking at the screen.
Let me get the correct you just started social distancing......you were playing live games prior to this one?
I dont even have to watch it to know i like it better than a monotone voice commentating the entire game. Sorry joseph, but my ADHD hates a single voice talking for 20~ minutes
Going to be honest, I gave the first half of Game 1 an honest try, but I cannot stand that kind of content. I like the more focused, gameplay oriented content. The ones with narration over game actions and the stack.
But... you're pronouncing it right? Chu is pronounced Coo...
At least that is how Cu Chulainn is pronounced.
Look up the cEDH primer it has a section on how to pronounce him I believe
@@DerpyLaron Probably, but I'm going to base it off the language the name is based off of. :P
Not bad but I vastly prefer narrated games
At any time would you play edh with out the same combos every game? Same cards, different commanders. You are starting to be really boring 😪
Welcome to cEDH.
They just build some"budget" decks that use other commander such as Grande Warlord Radha, but yeah, as someone already told you cEDH is like that.
Yeah cedh can be like that, depending on the colors you're in there are usually set wincons that you either use or you have an extremely hard time winning over your other opponents.
Like I've tried to force combat damage wins without things like finale and dealing 120 damage, usually less cause of fetches and stuff, when your opponent can win with 2 cards and 3 mana is just super hard to pull off and not feel like you've neutered yourself
