- This is another instance of someone gifting me a game and requesting a cover. It was a surprisingly frustrating track to do. Had I tried to cover this independently, I probably would have given up on it. Hopefully it sounds good enough to please my gracious benefactor.
This sounds kickass in VRC6. Even better than the original, imo. Also, you even included all the little note subtleties everyone else seems to forget. Very faithful to the original. Definitely earning a like and favorite from me.

No, Shovel Knight is awesome.
+Jamal Mian All of Shovel Knight's sound track can technically be played on the Famicom and NES, they worked within the limitations of those sound chips to give the sound track an accurate retro sound.
+MarklenIngyer Technically Shovel Knight's soundtrack could only work on a Famicom, since it uses sounds from the VRC6 sound expiation chip and a NES never got this chip making it impossible to do so on a NES. So in short it's possible with a Famicom, but not with a NES.

They may be referring to how the sawtooth wave plays the bass line. Nintendo did this quite often on the GBA, the Minish Village track from LoZ: Minish Cap is a good example of this.

+Deacon Lindsey The 'F' command sets the tempo. Usually having continuous tempo changes helps with pieces that have complicated time signatures. Hope this helps

It's called Famitracker. It's completely free. It's very functional, but it takes quite a bit of time to get used to.

***** Sorry for the late reply. DPCM is a channel used to play samples. If you're familiar with Famitracker somewhat, you should know that you have to create your own sounds within Famitracker itself. With DPCM, you can import small samples at low quality.

It’s the VRC6 expansion chip used in some game cartridges made by Konami. You can find it being used in the Japanese soundtrack of Castlevania 3.
