I wonder what Dennis James' performance would have been if Mystery Price was played on his nighttime version. He would have done fabulous! BTW, Match Game 74 episode for 1-21-1974 featured Joe Flynn, Brett Somers, Charles Nelson Reilly, Linda Kaye Henning, Richard Dawson, and Betty White. and the #1 song in America was "Show and Tell" by Al Wilson.
I still don’t understand why mystery price was retired. The game didn’t look difficult to understand, the set wasn’t malfunctioning, and the contestant playing it understood the game well enough to win it lol so yeah I just don’t understand
In some ways it was a better world back then there was no Internet with woman hating degrading and or violence made to seem normal and acceptable in millions of homes. There also were no cell phones, no Twitter now X , no CZcams, Facebook or Instagram constantly focusing mostly on teen and women's looks posting selfies to get likes and followers based on it.
My guess for each of the 4 Numbers in the Price of that Mercury would have been the following. First Number: 3 Second Number: 1 Third Number: 8 Fourth Number: 5
It's so hard to believe that this is now 50 years old this month!
I was in third grade and I turned 8 in April.
The new 1974 cues were just weeks away.
I was today years old when I learned there were propane powered cars in the 70s.
Hank Hill would shed a joyful tear.

Two cars in one half-hour episode?! Never seen that before
I was thinking the same thing
I'm a real TPIR music maven. The music for the first showcase on the TVPMM site is under Concentration Cue #18 - Car Theme 1 - Concentration '73

I honestly think it should come back. Maybe call it Make the Bank.
The second showcase had 12 products and ran over 2 1/2 minutes. They didn't have a game with groceries, so they all ended up in a showcase!
No wonder Bob had to rush the closing of the show.
ah, da ol dayz.......
The comet looked like the Ford maverick
Anyone know why these 70's game shows didn't have copyright dates like sitcoms or dramas did?
A car offered in two back to back pricing games. There's something you never see.
Pricing Games:
Lucky Seven
Mystery price(retired)
Most Expensive
Mystery Price wasn't a bad PG, it should've lasted longer, between than Double Digits.
Many of these people are dead by now including the audience members who look like they were in their 40's, 50's and 60's and possible older.
As bob passed now r.i.p then he was in his late 40s early 50s
Series 2 Episode 16

How long was the buzzer use in Lucky Seven losses?
Only once, but they ended with the “Ding” sound and then “Losing Horns” plays like “Any Number” did.
S a little bit I
My guess for those 2 Showcases would have been the following.
1st Showcase: $4,500
2nd Showcase: $4,000
My guess for each of the 4 Numbers in the Price of that Mercury would have been the following.
First Number: 3
Second Number: 1
