  • [FULL EPISODE] Corvette Sting Ray. I believe this is the first ever Sting Ray on the show. Unfortunately that car didn't get a new home, but the contestant won a different car. This episode was recorded in September but probably air in October.

But that being said, people were more calm and relaxed and willing to at least listen to other peoples views on anything. Doesn’t mean you have to agree with them.
Now, it seems that all young people want to do is cause mayhem, destruction and strife even though that will NOT accomplish anything at all.
Worse, the people in power will just offer up meaningless policies and actions that will not change anything in order to pacify and patronize the mob. And also hearts will be even more hardened as time goes on and hardly even any progress will take place, if at all.
I pray to The Lord God that life can improve, moving forward. And that there is a greater chance at more peace returning to civilized society.

As someone who actually went to a PIR show back in the mid 90s, I can tell you this; all of the contestants are chosen before they even enter the actual studio where the show is recorded. Each attendee walks thru a small pathway one at a time where somewhere in between you get stopped and asked a few questions. Based on your answers, they way you talk and your overall appearance, they mark you as "Yes" or "No", then they pick randomly from the list of "Yes". That is probably the only so-called "random" part, if they actually do pick more than the needed number.
Another tidbit to so you can understand how the value of certain things have changed or were back then. I was told by a neighbor at the time, his house, in the early 70s, a 2-story 1800 sqft 3 Bdr/2.5 bath 2-car garage house (in Lake Forest, CA) was around $20K where the same house in current RE market, even despite its age, is worth about $700K. This is particularly interesting because back in 1973, the washing machine in this show @ [2:24] is $660 where it is very comparable to today's prices yet look at the difference in other things.

I mean, housing prices are definitely not related to the increase due to inflation in most markets. For goods and services like groceries, things cost about 6.5 times what they cost in 1974. (Maybe more now with Bidenflation) Housing markets have gone up way more than that in virtually every city. And then there are the subsidized products like milk. I can actually buy milk for about the same price that I could buy it in the 90s. At least I could have a year ago. And finally, there is the technology factor. Some things that cost a lot less to manufacture, so their price increase is much less than the inflation rate. The washing machine would fall into that category.

I was born in 1986 and something that saddens me every day is that I didnt see the 1970s💔 so I watch these videos all the time at least to imagine how life was like. Just thinking that my favorite singer Karen Carpenter was alive and well when this show aired makes me feel close to her somehow, although she sadly died 3 years before I was born 😭😭😭😭😭😭 oh please, take me back to 1973,life was much better then 😭

Aug. 1973 . Sunday 4 PM. Our family was driving home from the beach and "Yesterday Once More" was playing on the radio (It was a NEW song at that point) . I was a Kid of the 1970s about the same age as Peter / Jan on the Brady Bunch. Whenever I hear that song , I almost want to start crying because the memory is so beautiful and FITS right into the song (The song is about a person reflecting on the old days) . It was like a dream.....

Great episode. I used to watch TPIR with my grandma everyday in the 80s and 90s during the summer. Sometimes I would fake a belly ache so I could miss school and watch with her. This episode is before my time but it seems the game was pretty much the same as it was in the 80s. Only thing missing is the wheel. Good to hear Olivia is alive, well and that the Gremlin lasted a long time. Rocky seemed like a nice guy as well. 6k for a corvette, unreal.
