Car to slow?
Buy the car. Go straight to Abt Sportsline. Give them 3500€. Boom. Problem solved.
In return, you get 410 hp (530 Nm), and you get to keep your factory waranty.
That's your Porsche killer right there.
2024 it only costs £350 to go 400+bhp
Here's my take, if it was ~360hp from the factory, it would probably be $4k more msrp. If the engine really have the exact same components (rods, pistons, rings, etc) as the ttrs or rs3, then just take it to apr and get a flash to get that ~50hp for ~$700.
Just get it remapped! :)
Because the battery is placed in the rear of that car, a dual exhaust system was not possible to install. However, I drove the RS Q3 some weeks ago after I went for a run with the new Audi S3 Sportback. The S3 was very quick but boring. The RS Q3 with its 5cylinder engine is such an entertaining car I had no problems to decide which I want to buy.
Further positive points:
- Enough place to transport at least 4 people comfortably
- Sporty suspension setting without forgetting the comfy side
- Higher entry than a compact class car, good for your back
- Not much more expensive than the S3
- Good stability of value due to the RS badge
- Great breaking components (especially the front brakes which are taken from the RS4/5)

@@catlee8064 I own one, love it. Has the typical audi in cabin rattles, which I find fucking infuriating on such a premium car, but then the suspension is a bit crash, so to be expected. Otherwise a superb car with a bonkers power plant and soundtrack. Decent on fuel on the motorway, god awful round town. All the things you'd expect tbh.
Couldn`t agree more. RS should be the Top-End, this at best is S performance.
Audi is selling out their RS name, might increase sales for this model, but also takes the magic away from the RS badge.
306hp is not to be sniffed at..
A straight forward remap would probably bring it up to 360hp
I was lucky enough to be able to drive the S1, S6 and RSQ3 and was completely blown away by the performance of the RSQ3. I'm not a huge fan of the looks but the performance were absolutely amazing! As well as the noise. Just put it in the sport mode and it sounds amazing. Also it kept up with the S6 which was mindblowing. And the price is good. I would choose this over a Porsche Cayenne or Macan for sure.
Nice car, but I agree, it needs dual pipes, it's a RS thing.
Sorry but I kinda disagree there, an RS doesn't necessarily have to have dual exhausts, the original RS had a single one, so if anything, this is paying homage to the original RS....don't you agree?

Also, include some more exhaust clips. The only one was like 2 seconds.
This car probably makes a lot more power than advertised, Audi is probably underrating it so that it doesn't step on the Q5 and Q7's toes I'm guessing.
Just to make this clear: there is only one exhaust pipe because two were impossible to fit. the q3 chassis just does not offer any space for 2 pipes. They would have fitted two if they could.
It's only taken them 6 years to work out how to fit the 2nd pipe on the other side. lol
2 not impossible to fit at all. Another exit from the back box to opposite side with tips fit's absolutely perfect..
Good review, as you said seems that Audi doesn't want a SUV quicker than the RS3...

The reasoning behind this RS Q3 not having the full potential of the engine is to keep the numbers where they need to be to not cannibalize their own lineup. They cannot have an RS Q3 that does 0-100km/h in less than 5 seconds, they want to leave that to at least the RS 4 or RS 5 based on their current business plan
Never understood SUVs in the first place.Its the size of car interior wise but then has the shell of a tank 🤔 Great performance though
It certainly sounds much better than many other RS cars, and it looks the part too! It should have a second oval exhaust pipe on the right side of the rear end though, specially if we consider the 4 pot S1 has 4 exhaust pipes...

In north America, the s3 only comes in sedan form. Americans hate wagons and hatches unless they are jacked up like a monster truck. So us Canadians are stuck with their bad tastes. Soooo, no S3 or RS3 sportback, no A4/S4/RS4 avants, but this will come over for sure. I wonder how this will do in the elk test.

How can you tell how much mpg an engine will do in a certain car? It's ridiculous. It's depends on more then just the engine. Like drag, tires, gearbox,.... it's stupid to say a different engine would give better mpg as it's not tested in that vehicle.

Veo muchas opiniones sobre el RSQ3 y la verdad que con mi q3 performance 2018 y una repro, subio a 420hp y es mas rápida qué muchos v8 y otros autos turbo o twin turbo. Y el sonido del su motor es música. No lo cambió por nada, y su versatilidad es singula.

You'd be a fool to remap a new car that's in warranty unless you are not bothered and willing to pay out of your own pocket if you get a problem.
Audi are just filling a niche with this car...pity really because it's diluting the RS range...besides just buy a RS3 .

spacious? I am about 178 or about 5ft 10 and I don't really fit in the Q3 second row. I also only just fit in the Q5 second row. I tried both at a dealer. I also remember trying to fit into an Mitsubishi ASX rear seat at an auto show and I couldnt get in. These small 4x4s (Q3, ASX...) are plain ridiculous in the sense that they are likely to be family vehicles but aren't any good in serving that function because of a lack of space.

Why A1? Why Q3, and RS Q3 for that matter. Why 2 series, why 4 series, why 3 and 5 GT, why X1, why beemer family bloody van? Why A and B class? Why all those sort of crapy little diesel engines in cars like these germas, that are meant to be unique and expensive? Don't have enough money - go for honda, don't buy this dust. I don't get those consumers and marketers at all. It's all just stupid, crazy and very very bad...

I had to dislike this. Not because there's something wrong with the review, but there's alot of wrong with the RS badge on a small SUV that doesn't scream performance. RS is supposed to scream RACECAR. There's nothing "racey" about a small SUV with 300 bhp. My brothers A6 4.2L has that same performance. But I understand that Audi's become sort of a "sellout", just like BMW and Mercedes.

I think if you want a tru RS car its gotta be the RS4. I mean think about it you can drive it everyday it can go nearly anywhere with its Quattro AWD system and its manically fast, and the best part at least here in America you can get one for under 20K!

It's an SUV with bonkers performance. Something every dad out there will relate to wanting. It's not for everyone.
However, it's got the sounds, looks, performance and daft big calipers and discs to warrant the RS moniker.
So be quiet until you've experienced one.
It's the same idiots who complain about fake M and fake AMG. I highly doubt any of them could even afford buying this straight up. They all lease most likely and still can't.
I see nothing wrong buying in full a S3 or even this RSQ3 and then tuning it and doing whatever you want to it.
Then you have the badge whores who own these high end cars and get anal because they can not exert their small penis size and worthless badge superiority to us C43 AMG, S3, and BMW M340i owners.
Yet I can get their performance for about 2k in mods and still own my car in full because I did not blow another 20k on bs badge whore nonsense or HP you will never use.

It´s personal but I really don´t like the Q3 in any version - It´s the look of it; bit goofy, no elegance, the profile seams so tall due to the short length of the car. This is properly the only AUDI I would not have - I would even take an BMW X3 over this and that is an ugly car too. For a small LUX SUV the Evoque is miles better looking than any current competitors on the market IMO and I would also take a Mercedes GLK over this Q3 and I´m not even a merc fan. Should this Q3 RS version not just be an S version?. This Q3 is the worst of both worlds, bad looks as basis, then pimped but not living up to the performance and miles it could do and apparently does not put a smile on your face - Not thanks to this AUDI.
