This blog post has tips on getting into the chamber for FREE just after the lottery winners exit on the solstice visit mornings!
At all other times, you MUST get an organized tour ticket at the visitor centre! Book ONLINE at the official Office of Public Work's Newgrange website at
heritageireland.ie/visit/plac...
To enter the 2023 lottery to be in the chamber at sunrise:-
email BrunaBoinne@opw.ie with the subject "solstice lottery" and give your Name, Address, Country, Telephone number and email address.

a very controversial reconstruction on Newgrange and still some feel it is all wrong with a wall of white stone. Its amazing how one man had the power to do this based on his own theory. There is NO evidence Newgrange looked like this. Its a recreation.
Why are people allowed to let their jackets rub against the walls?
Mary, because the passage is quite narrow & low in the middle especially for a fairly big guy like me. So people in their winter coats can't avoid it.
