Hello world, how are you doing?
In today’s video we will be taking a look at Anbernic’s latest and I would say greatest vertical handheld to date, powered by the T618 but with a lovely 4:3 4’’ display on android. We all know just what this chip set can do and there are 1000’s of games from 8bit-16bit run outstanding good to mid range…Dreamcast, psp, Sega Saturn also running awesome.
With native android gaming and streaming to boot.
So let’s take a look at the new RG405V and see how the emulation is on this.

Hi, Just found your channel. So I just ordered the purple one yesterday and all I was wondering is are you running the stock OS in this video or have you done any tweaks at all or changed any settings? Have you upgraded this to the latest GammaOS since then and if so how much of a performance boost have you gotten? Are you still using it?
Hi and welcome I just use the stock os and it works perfectly fine no need to upgrade, unless you actually want to really...I still use it

Nearly every other handheld channel has written this one off but honestly I’m so glad I bought this!
I ended up getting the transparent purple edition which looks fantastic although I’m bummed they didn’t ship me a case even though I purchased the 256gb version, they didn’t have the case on their website at the time but a lot of other reviewers got the case!🙄
I’m really hoping you could do several videos of this and maybe a setup guide at some point?🙏
I did hear that garlic os was running on this or am I mistaken?🤔
I’m still using the stock emulators but I’ve created a new card with all my preferred roms aswell as using daijisho as a front end.
Not sure if that’s the best combo but it’s alright for now!👍
Sounds good to me buddy and I will be getting the purple one also as I think that’s definitely the best looking one out of the 3 I have done a few shorts of it so far I will be doing a GameCube and ps2 and Sega Saturn videos and maybe a android video at some point and in them videos I will be testing out of definitely emulators to get the best out of it. I think garlic is is out for it but I will wait till a bit more dev work goes in to it, would rather test it complete not half backed

Definitely looks nice, I do like the look of the transparent purple one to.
Out of all the rg405v videos I watched, this video of yours is the one that will probably convince me to buy this handheld LOL! I'm still in the fence because I want to mainly play this as a Gamecube and PS2 go to console, though I'm not so picky with the PS2 and GC performance.
Personally I would wait and get the retroid pocket 4plus and with that you can play ps2 and GameCube with ease and it’s the same price as the RG405v

There is one that is ok I think it’s the sf300 I have a video on my channel you will have to look for it, it’s like a snes controller but that’s around £16-20 and nice to see you back man

I have the purple one. The RG405V has been my main handheld recently.
Looking forward to seeing what Anbernic will be offering in 2024. I can hope they will be using the same chipset as the Retroid Pocket 4.

I do like the look of the play date handheld but the only thing that puts me off is the none lit screen

Can it run GameCube and ps2 ok? And what’s it like on switch emulation?

With Batocera, most gamecube run good, many at 2x as well (720P upscale to the screen, as win600 is 720P)
Can also still play a ton of ps2,some at 2x as well. But you'd have to set that on a per game basis.
With speedhacks it can run God of War 1 and 2 PS2 at 1x.
I only tried switch briefly, not enough to comment properly but dont forget Batocera doesnt officially support Switch so if you wanna play those you gotta add that manually.
Some may say odin 2 can upscale gamecube, ps2 better but youre running android, and with android OS you have a limit with what you can actually emulate.
For eg on win600 using Batocera I can also play, Wii U,xbox, ps3 (not many),naomi2,model 2,model 3,and also PC games (in Batocera).
Cant play those systems on android.
Edit: Having said that you might be better off with the Loki Zero over win600 now.
Same size screen, same chipset but dual channel RAM and better ergonomics.
Win600 is great for dpad gaming but not great for joysticks.
Nice tips man ok cool, I only have the steam deck not really go in to the pc handhelds yet but am definitely thinking about it…only thing stopping me is the money they are not cheep lol

I still like the x28 but I do love the rg405v just the form factor is different man the emulation is the same
Ive been having trouble with the emulation Im so new to all of this and so far pegasus is the only front end Im using psp games arent playing and neither is ps1 also I get an error that says ???base.apk and it just throws me out of the game and back to the android homescreen ...any ideas?

And use ppsspp for psp games that’s the best emulator for psp
I would recommend people install a newer version of MMJR for playing GameCube and Wii than the version that comes pre-installed with the handheld. Different versions of MMJR work better with some games and not so well with others.
Personally, I cannot get MMJR3 to work at all.
I don't use the standard Dolphin emulator ever.
I will look in to updated emulators for it I have dolphin for handhelds and a few other builds but it hit and miss with most game some work well with one and not others so it’s a bit of a miss match but I will look in to mmjr3 though
