So, if we assume Wrexham do sign Okonkwo, then it seems highly probably that they're gonna sign some Championship heavyweights too. Hard to see them stagnating in League 1 in such circumstances.

Okonkwo is my valentine as well, Rich - I feel he's kept us in the closer games and he's got a good hunger at seeing the ball sent up the field like Foster. Mark is a good, stable GK but I don't see him helping our offense quite as much as Okonkwo. Here's hoping we can sign him or at the least convince Arsenal to loan him out next year again.

He's out of contract so it is curious if Arsenal look to extend in a bid to protect their asset and make sure they get a fee. Will be a fascinating few months ahead on his future

@@robryanred ah, him being out of contract is good news for us, potentially. If he knows he's a starter at Wrexham and will not even be on the bench at Arsenal, he may opt for us. Too, he'll be helping us get promoted to L1 and Championship (hopefully PL too!).

Best Goalkeeper Of The Year fr me!! If Emi Martinez goes in Summer as I think he will! Id love this guy at Aston Villa! He's brilliant!! I was amazed he was at Wrexham n not at a big club! Never heard of him, but EVERYONE has now! Clever!!😮

No offence, but Okonkwo is The Best most valuable at Wrexham now! I've been stunned at how good he is! He's better than most keepers in Premier League! 😮

Based on his reaction to the goal at the end of the half, I wonder if he doesn't have a mild concussion

Is I’ve said on X, he’s going to want more than a contract. Sunderland, Birmingham, Hull will all be after him this summer. Other than “the project”, what do we offer over an aggressive championship team? We have to improve our facilities. We have to be able to compete in all aspects of talent attraction.

He's not the be all and end all of keepers. The 'project' you minimize is what brings people to the Club in the first place. It's the only thing that makes Wrexham 'special'. If he doesn't want to be another Mullins or Lee or frankly just about anyone else on the TEAM, then he can leave and take his chances with one of those Championship Clubs. And all good luck to him going forward. I would rather the Club took more years to get to its 'level' than try to satisfy someone who really doesn't want to stay, and thereby damage the 'culture'. Attitude REALLY matters in this particular storyline.

I’m wondering how his jaw is doing and will he play in the next match.

I don't really follow Wrexham but as an Arsenal supporter I 100% think you should try and sign him permanently. He's not breaking into the first team at Arsenal and if Wrexham get promoted to league one he might be convinced to join the project.
Lets say Wrexham go at the same trajectory as Luton and get to the premier league in 10 years from the national League, okonkwo will be 30 and in his prime ready for the premier league. He would be the perfect goalkeeper signing if you could afford it

Think this is the plan but it is definitely easier said than done. Let's see

@@robryanred it will depend on what you can offer him. He's out of contract next summer and if Arsenal are unwilling to give him a new contract I think you could convince him

Okonkow's future likely lies outside arsenal. Wouldn't be surprised if he's let go on a permanent in the near future.
He was in fact rumoured to leave permanently before he ended up signing for Wrexham on loan.
Reckon a lot would depend on the player if he was to continue at Wrexham. Ultimately, his camp would most likely lean to the best proposition.

    • @robryanred

Yeah he could well buy in to Wrexham if he's crucial in a promotion. But he's so talented that it seems inevitable clubs abroad and probably Championship clubs come calling

I really don’t rate Okonkow.Don’t know what all the fuss is about?? Mark Howard is isn’t any better. Wrexham haven’t had a strong keeper since Foster left
