    I have never reviewed bag gloves before so I started out with the gold standard (PUN INTENDED!) Rival is one of my favorite companies out there because of their awesome innovative technologies. These gloves support AMAZING technology that will satisfy every combat sports athlete from boxing and MMA and for every level from beginner to pro.

    I love my el cucuy 2.0s thanks for the recommendation! I may have to spring for these when I get my next pair of gloves to only use for the bags and mitts. I hope you feel better soon!

    I have the black and orange RB10. I've been using these gloves for years. Sometimes with wraps, but often just with fitted leather gloves as wraps (I'm lazy). Best bag gloves I've ever used.

    I bought these in blue (size large) and found it way too light and small for my hand. My hand measured 9.1" without wraps on but the second those wraps went on, it was very uncomfortable to wear. I do believe in the company and the reviews online though so I'm exchanging them for some XLs. Just eager for them to arrive!

    Hiya, we're similar in size, could I ask if you recommend these over the Fairtex BGV9'S?
    I'm currently working with Hayabusa 16oz and would like to maintain the wrist support and protection, but in a more compact glove.
    Thanks

    Great review -- the best! Very thorough! They protect the knuckles, which is what we look for in a heavy bag glove. And yes, they look phenomenal-- very cool!
    For those on a budget, however, what heavy bag gloves would you recommend?
    Thanks for your input. Keep punching! 👍

    • @combat_corp
      @combat_corp  Před 3 lety +2

      I would say for heavybag work, I would get a simple pair of bag mitts from ringside or title! Plenty for what people need so long as they know what they are doing! They are cheap. 20 dollars or less. Ringside is probably my favorite company for most things just because of the quality and price they put out.

    Problem is these gloves are pretty firm- excellent knuckle protection but because the foam is very hard you feel more shock into your forearms than a glove with more forgiving padding. With that said, the glove position and support is excellent, just wish they were a bit softer for using 120Lb+ bags, lighter bags and Thai pads feel excellent. Have you tried the RB11 , I've seen the reviews that claim there is no difference in how the feel on the heavy.

    • @combat_corp
      @combat_corp  Před 3 lety +1

      That is intersting! I haven't had that feeling as of yet but yet that might be the constant nerve damage lol. I have not tried the rb11 but hear they are great. My other bag glove is the RB2 and they are excellent!

    In my boxing class we do drills like blocking jab, slipping jab, 1-2 block basic drills as I’m a leaner over 42 years old so I’m in the senior class. We do a lot of work on bags and the only sparing we do is with head guards jab only. Do you think these would be ok or would you get the RS11V thank you.

    The whole weight of gloves goes out the window. The XL is 13oz which is great for my large hands. I’ve tried 18oz gloves that are small inside. All that 16 is sparring, 12, is this and that bla bla bla. The pros must be getting the right size inside that’s also the right oz for a fight. If it was just ounces I can’t find a pair of 10 or 12 my hand can fit in: that means no fight lol. Hand size should come first. All you keep hearing out there is 16 oz is for sparring. Does the hand compartment stay the same size as the ounces increase or does it get bigger? In my opinion they should give you the hand compartment size AND the ounces. I’m yet to find and XL inside 10z. Even at a boxing store, they asked, is it for bag work? Get 12 oz. what about the size of my hands?

    • @combat_corp
      @combat_corp  Před 3 lety +1

      I personally don't know off the top of my head with Rival but I don't believe they change too much with the hand compartment because I do have a lighter pair of bag gloves by them that have an open hand compartment. Companies like Everlast though change hand compartment size by oz. It is rather annoying trying to figure everything out with each company, you'd almost have to call and ask for each model...not gona lie kinda what I do. but at the end of the day I just want to know how the padding is in each glove. like you said, some 20 oz gloves I see have not a lot of padding in the knuckles and some gloves that are 16 oz are big and floofy. It's the same with MMA gloves. MMA sparring gloves are the same oz as some MMA competiton gloves but the padding is WAY different

    • @afrobeat4576
      @afrobeat4576 Před 3 lety

      @@combat_corp I agree. If you are looking for size 12.5 wide shoes, size 13 won’t necessarily do if the shoes are narrow. Some brands, the hand compartment size doesn’t change by ounce which makes sense. Ounce is the weight aka how much padding. Others, the 18oz is roomier than the 12oz. The first question should be how big are your hands? THEN the ounces

      Favorite gloves of all time is incredibly tough to answer in all honesty. My always go to would be the cleto reyes training gloves because they just fit and suit me perfectly as a puncher. I have durable hands which helps as well BUT one that is virtually tied with Reyes now is no joke our sponsor phantom boxing's el cucuy 2.0 and we are also developing a new puncher's glove which I am excited to test out. It really depends on which kind of puncher you are and what your style is yknow? But I would for sure recommend the el cucuy 2.0s they just perform amazingly for me as do the reyes. They are also durable as hell. IF you can't decide, I also go with a failsafe glove of the Hayabusa t3 because they are durable, protect your hands, and have good pop and feel. They are also great for boxing, muay thai, or mma training so they are multifunctional. I hope this helps but if you have more detail let me know

      Guerreros are my favorite bag glove ever so far. Great punch feedback, fits perfect on my hand, SUPER balanced, awesome knuckle/wrist support. Sometimes the RB10s will curve down too much and cramp my fingers whereas the guerreros do not. Overall for me just a better glove. Rival makes some of the best gear out there and those gloves are proof for me
