    Stunning job buddy. When it comes to sleeper steps, do you need the engineering bricks as your risers, can you just use another sleeper instead?

    😂😂😂 You and Brad proper crack me up😂😂
    I actually cant belive that ground is retained with just timber..surely someone should have said this needs a brick and block retaining wall..how does that pass NHCB standards but a snot on a cavity tray is a whole deal😂
    On site alot of time If you got leftover compo,bricks blocks and hardcore its thrown into the back gardens and under slabs as "backfill" the 100mm of some nice topsoil ontop 😂
    That looks stop on! Love that flow point stuff too! Gonna try that in the future! Keep up the great work! Big thumbs up!👌👌💪

    Hi Justin
    I know that feeling mate , I’m running out of energy and enthusiasm mate not had a holiday in 2 years and feeling it now mate , lovely job as per usual mate 🙏👍 that retaining wall (wooden posts ) at the side of the house mate , that isn’t as easy to replace by the looks of it mate , you could undermine the side of the house if your not careful , you probably need to create an abutment to take the pressure off the wall otherwise all their garden will end up in the neighbours , bloody nightmare now , but when built would be easy , but as you know Justin house builders keeping costs down is key mate and do the absolute minimum , great video mate , and yes I’ve stopped using resin now mate as it’s failing after 3 years and turning green , which it was supposed to never do , all the best mate to you and the Welsh wilderbeast hard as nails bathing in flowpoint , have a good week pal 🙏🙏🙏👍

      I had to stop brad eating it 🤣🤣🤣 agree on all you say about the wall i wouldn't touch it unless a structural engineer was involved john cover all ends mate.
      Good luck to you boys take some time out mate

    • @brickrightbuildinglandscaping
      @brickrightbuildinglandscaping  Před 3 lety

      Thanks will much appreciate mate.
      Well in an ideal world fall the paving away from the house .where like this job and many others if the fall has to go towards a house i would always add eco drains to accommodate the water and protect the house walls and dpc.
      Can use shallow or deaper eco drains depending on the height of the dpc to the paving.
      Hope that helps will .
      Thanks mate
      Justin 👍👍

    I'm in the middle of a slabbing job at the moment, lads....I will probably be using the brush in compound. To be honest that flowpoint gives me the fear looking at the jet washing and critical timing involved, although it is a belter of a finish.

    cracking job as always chaps. I am doing a sleeper wall for a client in a few weeks, not done it before. When you put the first row of sleepers on the concrete, do you smooth the concrete off first and then lay the sleeper, or do you tap the sleeper onto the concrete, similar to how you would tapping a slab onto mortar? and do you have to screw it in to the concrete or anything? many thanks!

    • @brickrightbuildinglandscaping
      @brickrightbuildinglandscaping  Před 3 lety

      Hi Jack
      Thanks mate for the comments.
      We level the concrete on a semi dry mix and slightly tap the sleeper into the concrete but only just get it level and bedded nice .Lay your first one below ground level aswell.
      Spec depends on what your asking the sleepers to hold up but that answers a question.
      Good luck
      Justin 👍

    2 nd . Another stunning job lads and I love the detailed explanation. I’m picking up tips for when we finally get round to doing the back garden 😏. That really is a beautiful little job
    3rd That tin pot house builder that we have just left do the pencil retainers only theses cheap skates use 100 mm posts ! ! ! Which will just about last till the 2 year warranty is up . NHBC. Isn’t worth a carrot as this type of external works aren’t guaranteed. Total cop out , do the bare minimum ( or less ) to get it sold then let the customer deal with the massive bill down the line . It really pisses me off no end . Houses are expensive and people stretch themselves to but them so don’t budget for a massive civil engineering job in their back garden .
    4 Fun fact , I was investigating Aco drains and was watching a video on their website and apparently it’s pronounced Aco ( as in Jacko without the J ) every day is a school day .
    5 hope you’re feeling better Just 🤒🧱👍🏼

    Lovely job Justin, as usual but won't using wooden sleepers cause the same problem you mentioned earlier or will the weep holes fix that ? I know it's not on the same scale as a retaining wall but just wondering why you or your client choose wood when it rots.

    • @brickrightbuildinglandscaping
      @brickrightbuildinglandscaping  Před 3 lety +1

      Spot on Tommy
      I priced for brick but they went for sleepers as it was cheaper so upto them i did explain but there choice but i agree .

      Used a few now Aztec’s 1 don’t like at all setting times are all over the place more it takes a age to go off in my experience twice the price also for nearly half the amount of what get with flowpoint and a headache with it lol. Stick to flowpoint now mostly or Kerakoll grout is good more so maybe. Small locked in areas where no wash off point. Use a just a normal grout trowel best suited for porcelain a think but it’s not really 1 that can flowed into joints. Get yourself a raimundi peddalow system what a tremendous bit of kit simple buy saves the back. Tilers tools. They have everything grouting on there site tool wise buddy. Take care 😎👍🏻
