Already she is star

You're right, a whole generation had to listen to Evenessence for years. This means that MTV Music should not be listened to.
@@sondevirofficialevanescence is pretty cool too no?
We call her as "Queen" here . Of course its easy to understand why :)
I can confirm this

My Queen 🖤
For your request at 13:38 : Kork-mak-tan-sa is a single word meaning "rather than being afraid. Thank you for the video. Sebnem is our Turkish rock queen and you showed everyone how great she is
She puts in deed so much emphasis on that word, she could basicaly pronunuence it kooooorkmaaaktaaaaannnsaa. but the way she sings it is definitely extraordinary, and well reflects the emotions. As a turkish language speaking person i find it so much more tense then a quick "korkmaktansa". for example when we get angry we could spell out every syllable one by one like "gi de cek sin" instead of 'gideceksin'
There is nothing better as a musician on stage than to have the audience singing your music along with you!
This has a very operatic vibe. She has a strong clear voice , impressive even without being able to understand the language.
WOW.......Who is this vocal wonder??? I was totally captivated with her first word. This is just the kind of music i listen to late at night, loud to hear every detail. To hear a story told with music served just the way i like it. When i mentioned Floor and GLS i was thinking not of the likeness of the singing or the song but the divine ability to bring us into their arena and let us feel as they intend and where there are no barriers like language or taste ect. Just pure connection. I havent time to explore the music i want to but i have time for this. Anna you help so much to identify the uniqueness of such singers and song, i am grateful for that , for you. Thank you, today will be a good day.
You should check her out she's the queen of rock in Turkey. She writes all of her songs and every simgle song is meaningful. I love all of her songs I recommend "Ay" and "Ben bir mülteciyim" especially the live 2007 concernt versions
@@esot2093 thank you I will follow your recommendations.
Okyanus is a great piece too.
Still my best is “vazgeçtim dünyadan”. You can find a very great live performance of this song in the same concert.
@@cuneytcalik4251 Thank you, I have listened to each song of this amazing concert. I can't get enough it seems. So glad Anna has connected me with not only Sebnem Ferah but the beauty in Turkish music of this style. .
The part where she does "vocal cry", is also the part of the song where she sings about how she is crying. She says:
What you see is what flows down my cheek
What's really inside me is a sea in which I swim.
Implying the magnitude of the pain she is in.
And I think that shows how thoughtful and sentient she is. Everything is on spot and perfectly arranged in her performances.
Never heard her before, thank you.
she is a real artist. she writes her songs, makes their music also she can play guitar. she is really talented and unique. she can reflects her life, feelings and thoughts to her songs clearly and she can makes us having these feelings same with her. i think this makes her a perfect artist.
❤️
I felt like all registers were opened in this performance.
New discovery, great mix of melody, metal and vocals. Just ❤
The videoclip is actually better…
🤘🏻
Greetings from Turkey. She is Queen of the Turkish Rock Music. I follow you with pleasure. Thank you for taking the time for Şebnem Ferah. I look forward to your reaction to Şebnem Ferah's other songs.
A good Turkish colleague mentioned her with great appreciation and showed me an indeed impressive song. Still, it will again be a welcome adventure into so far for me unchartered musical territory. Excited !
Greetings. I put on SebnemFarah on CZcams then listened to her and related artist for some time. This music runs deep and much talent. Well worth exploring..
NO BETTER CAME FROM THİS WOMAN ! GOD BLESS THE QUEEN 💎🎤ŞEBNEM FERAH 🎶🎵🎼🎹🎸🎧
Flawless performance..., i love how the crowd is a big part of the show. The atmosphere there must have been electric.
Traditional oriental music with modern metal touch, such a great combination. Overall her incredible voice, she's so good !

"Oriental" Wtf?
Hi sis/bro/world citizen etc.. I am a native Turk and music lover, came to give inside information :) This song is not a "traditional oriental..." , since there is no eastern-specific chords. Quick Fact: when it comes to Turkey/Türkiye, thinking oriental things is a misassumption about Turks, actually. We don't understand why you keep putting Arabic songs when you talk about tr in documentaries. We don't listen them; we don't even understand the language 🤦Turks are not middle eastern and not European (or both, long story). Turks are Turks and they have lands in both sides; so, they have both culture in their music and they use whatever culture they want! 😄🤗Also, Turks have another card: Modern Turkish. An ancient asian (turkish) language modernized and combined with French and Arabic words. Today's tr uses "modern turkish" ; which is more like Japanese, based on both grammar structure and pronunciation. ( sounds freaking awesome and freaking weird, I know.😁) So because of modern turkish, there might have been some traditional Asian oriental chords and instruments..? But nah, there isn't in this song. So, what is this? This is pure Turkish Metal 🌟
If you wanna see the difference between this song (modern turkish rock) and turkish rock with traditional tunes, you can go check " Anatolian Rock ".
My sister went to this concert. I was too young. I cried because I couldn't go. Şebnem Ferah is an amazing artist. She has a very powerful voice. Endless respect.
Awww. Did you see her later then?
@@annavaskelainen Then I went to three of his concerts. I have photos with him. I still have my signed t-shirt 🥺
Beginning of the song is about being in crowd, so she let the "crowd" sing that part❤
That was (again) an incredible reaction and an impressive performance. Artists like her deserve being seen anywhere in the world of music. Appreciated and respected but (way to) often don't get the appropriate recognition. Thanks that your views go way beyond the already known. Carry on, keep up the Anna-Way ! I feel from so many comments we/your community follow dearly, with pleasure and willingness to learn. Well, you are a teacher (also), and a damn good one !!! Kiitos 👏👍👏😊
QUEEN 👑
To Viewers: Please let's not compare her to amy lee or nightwish! Şebnem Ferah started her music career in the 80s with the VOLVOX band she founded! Her style is inimitable and she is too special to imitate anyone else! She has a unique voice and performance of her own! Thanks for reaction! 🎉please more Sebnem Ferah performances from this concert series🎉🎉

Great reaction, great analysis. Thank you for that! She is called 'the queen of Turkish rock'. And this concert was from 2007, already 16 years ago.
She has great control over her voice and registers and tonal qualities. Classical-style head voice, the ethnic melismatic sections, the mix belt, the weightier low section, the articulation. I was really curious to hear her singing extensively in her lower range.
5:56 I was really imagining a high, virtuosic, electric guitar solo riding atop this steady march o the orchestra and the band.
Your comment about her boldness to just come in with that belt was also so true. When you've been quiet vocally for a while while the music goes on, there's a need for preparation to connect back on the next phrase, especially if the composition is changing under you.
Ahmed Ertegun, Turkish producer, who was
the owner of Atlantic records signed contract
with Şebnem Ferah years before he signed
the contract with Evanescence. Unfortunately
Şebnem dropped off the contact as she lost her
father at the earthquake in 1999.
She would have won many Grammy awards...
Google this and learned when people compare
her with Evanescence. So there was Şebnem first.
Ooh, another new singer, thanks Anna! 🙏
This was a good one, can't wait to jam through this with you! 💃
@@annavaskelainen ☺☺
KORK-MAK-TAN-SA basically means “instead of being scared”. You actually pronounced the name of the song pretty on point as well. Finnish and Turkish languages are from the same language tree so I’m sure if you read it almost like Finnish you’d be able to nail most Turkish words.
She is one of the most amazing vocals in the world. Şebnem Ferah is a icon
I'm intrigued. 🤔👍Looking forward to it.
This was a great analysis! Looking forward to checking out more of her. Have fun at TUSKA!
She is Turkish Rock Queen
I 100% agree with you there when you say it's very smart musically. Everything has an intention in this relatively simple but strong composition. That part where you reacted at 4:54 for example, she sings " those you see are the ones running down my cheeks, But actually, there is a sea inside me which I swim in" (talking about her tears) and then orchestra comes in with guitar drawing a picture of inner conflict as a stormy sea. She lets out a strong cry fighting it. Those fries coming out showing struggle and at the very end everything ends with a sigh of relief or espousal.
Your language sounds so relaxing wow! Şebnem Ferah is a musical genius and she is really good at vocaling. Thanks for ur beautiful reaction and relaxing voice
Great voice, ☝️🙄👍 great reaction! 🌟🌟🌟🌟
Anna at 13:39 she is spelling the word "Korkmaktansa" (meaning rather than being afraid). Spelling in Turkish is different than in English. We dont spell words letter-by-letter one syllable is multiple letters most of the time. So she is dividing the word in to "Kork-mak-tan-sa" and creating a captivating atmosphere.
Also lovely reaction as always, hoping you to continue Anna'lyzing Turkish music. 🥳🤍
My effing God...who is this!?!?!...this is brilliant!!!!
"Delgeç" ile devam edebilirsin. 2007 İstanbul konseri 🤘😉
She is the rock queen of Turkey.
She is pretty much brilliant indeed. Its not a fluke, she is the Queen…
Woaww. Such a good and detailed analysis. Şebnem is one of the most polular and beloved singers in Türkiye.
And believe me there are so many great songs that she have !
By the way just for the info for the ones who didnt know Şebnem before this video. She writes most of song’s lyrics & music
This is Istanbul concert, 2007. She composes her songs, I think this is worth mentioning. Thank you for the video…
You did it 💯💯💯 keep going reacting other perfect songs from same concert ❤️❤️
Sadece bir şarkıcı değil, çok iyi bir insan o. Kraliçe Şebnem Ferah
Since I am heavily obssesed with this song I watched many reactions videos about it and yours is by far the best one. Happily subbed 🤗
3:23 What you identified as melisma is the result of two fun features of the Turkish language; aglutination and vowel harmony. The words you noticed, I think, are "içinde yüzdüğüm", meaning, "in which I swim". Yüz- is the root verb. The remainder are suffixes indicating tens, aspect, modality and conjugation. And each suffix gets its vowel modified to harmonize with the vowel of the root verb. (Having fun yet?) So, although she sounds like she is singing a single syllable, while moving between notes, she in fact is singing three syllables.
Also, without having a background in music theory or even a firm command of the Turkish music catalog, I will add, yes, melismas are common in Turkish music, independently from the situation mention above. I even remember a joke about Turkish notes being written very largely so as to cover the entire staff, so that the singer can "melisma" the crap out of them.
Anna, it is a really great sound analysis, congratulations.
You should also listen to Delgeç from the same concert .Şebnem's voice is amazing truly a rock queen.
We love the depth of your analysis ;)
This is the best reactions of her I've ever seen, real reaction.thanx
"Vazgeçtim Dünyadan" would be another good one to react from the same concert in my opinion.

My high-school favorite... I am still listening to her songs, especially the live performance records. She is the queen of rock in Turkey - thanks for highlighting her majestic and unbelievable performance for Can Kırıkları!
I loved this song, I didn't know it, please more from this band. Congratulations for your great channel ✨🖤✨

she is our queen lord of screams captivating sound and never uses playback 😍I recommend listening to other concert recordings.
Thanks to your beautiful reactions, I loved finnish language diction, despite I know not a single word of it. 😊 By the way, Şebnem is our rock queen. 🤟
Turkish is belong to altai language family its Siberian language.. Also there is a theory about Ural-Altaic languages, there is a connetion with turkic language with Finnish language.
Hey lady, Sebnem is the rock queen of Turkey :) Your technical reviews are great. Thanks for your great video and reaction

Amazing analysis. My Şebnem Ferah favorite is Delgeç live. I hope you can review that one too ❤
I love this song. Thank you very much for the
analysis
originally called "cam kırıklar" (glass shards) in
Turkish. "Cam" and "Can" are similar in writing.
Sebnem Ferah played with words here and made
"Can kırıkları" (I have got shattered lives) (in
meaning of heartbreak)
Translation of song lyrics
In this crowd
Rather than feeling all alone
At one end of the world
I'm all alone
Your colors that don't show dirt
Let them be yours, rather than fearing
Exactly inside the haziness
I'm all alone
maybe
Know something secretly
Of course I may cry
Because I have my heartbreaks
The things you saw
That shed through my cheeks
Actually inside me
There is a sea that I swimm that inside
In this crowd
Rather than feeling all alone
At one end of the world
I'm all alone
I, maybe
Know something secretly
Of course I may cry
Because I have my heartbreaks
Thanks from Turkey!
I’m so happy and proud of our legendary Turkish rock queen While we were young we were Seboists 🤩 I think if you would listen to the whole album of this song included, you would have got more of her 😉

Hey Anna. You are the best, highest quality, most careful vocal coach I have ever seen on CZcams. Thank you for this respectful technical explanation. If you dive deep into Turkish songs, I guarantee you won't be able to get out of there for a long time. It was a great pleasure for me to watch you.
The Queen❤❤❤
I went to this ladies concert in a music festival a few years ago. it was supposed to last 1,5 hours only, she pulled a 5 hours one . when she started it was a bit passed midnight, when she was singing the last songs, the sun was rising.
Our rock queen 👸🇹🇷🇹🇷🇹🇷
Best reaction ever 👍 honey my ears
Amazing ❤
I love your reactions 🤗🥰
I love this song I think I listened to it at least once during my childhood. Maybe my teen years or close to it.
I also remember her singing part of your world in Turkish. (O Dünyada.) She's such a talented artist. There's no one else like Şebnem Ferah, her voice is so unique and beautiful ❤
@annavaskelainen thank you for featuring our rock Queen Şebnem Ferah. Probably you now learned that she composed this song herself. She is a world class and wrote/composed so many good songs which are like you said "epic". These type of musicians make history with their performances and music and we're proud that we've one of those.
I'm glad you discovered this singer. There is a fact that I have known since my childhood, we Turks call her the "Queen of Turkish Rock".
Dear Anna, you sense the feelings in the music and show, above the language and any other pattern. Meanwhile you express this with your sincere reactions and nice explanations within your beauty. So you made me feel that one day we humans will reach to a civilisation like in Avatar. Thanks. Many Love and Respect to you ❤.
great as always, lets prep for the oncomings :)
Not a fan of some of the high vocals (in general, not just her) but she did have power, range and control so I did like it.
Şebnem is rock queen.
Encontraste un gran cantante. Felicidades.
The Queen
I really loved this reaction video. Also I learned some new things about vocals. 😊 Thank you for this reaction.
Also for your request asking someone to translate the words at 13:49 of this video:
Kork-Man-Tan-Sa korkmaktansa instead of being afraid. Please other Turkish commenters correct me if I'm wrong in the interpretation. I think that word has a strong meaning. She's basically saying instead of being afraid, I am standing on my own, inside of this confusion/filth/fog.
I think it's a very strong, and also lonely statement.
Anyway here is my attempt at translating the song for you line by line.
Bu kalabalığın içinde (in this crowd)
Yapayalnız hissetmektense (instead of feeling so alone)
Dünyanın bir ucunda (in a corner of the world)
Tek başımayım (I am on my own)
Kir göstermeyen renkleriniz (Your colours which don't show your filth)
Sizin olsun, korkmaktansa (you can keep it/they are yours, rather than fear/instead of being afraid)
Bulanıklığın tam içinde (in the middle of this filth/dirt/fog)
Bir başımayım (I am all on my own)
Benim belki de ( maybe I have)
Gizli bir bildiğim var (a secret I've known)
Elbette ağlarım (of course/surely I do cry)
Benim can kırıklarım var (I have alot of broken soul/life pieces/heartbreaks)
Senin gördüğün (what you see is)
Yanağımdan süzülenler (flowing down the sides of my face/cheeks)
Asıl içimde (actually inside of me)
İçinde yüzdüğüm bir deniz var... (There is an ocean that I am swimming in)
(Chorus above repeats twice more )
Enjoy ❤

Şebnem ferah is a
World star for us.point.
She's different level
yes!
Your smile is as good as Sebnem's voice. She was a big name in late 90s and early 2000s in Turkey :)
the lyrics during the vocal cry are actually about her crying:
what you see
are the ones that run down my cheeks
really inside of me
there is a sea in which I swim.
kork-mak-tan-sa is a single word in Turkish meaning instead of being afraid.
btw finnish and turkish are coming from the same Uralic linguistic root. there are apparently some similarities in grammar and how to make sentences although words are not that similar. :)
She can belt out a song, & orchestra gave a feeling of 'depth'. I was expecting both her & orchestra to speed up & really unleash the power she obviously has, but they kept it all slow. Thanks for pointing out all the nuances & work it goes into achieving them Anna! 🙏🙏
The tempo of this song is this and it has been kept at a constant tempo as it is a collaborative work with the orchestra. It's going strong at a certain pace. The depth of depressive feelings can be conveyed in this way.
O konserde bulunmuş birisi olarak yazıyorum Şebnem çok farklı bir ses bunu canlı yaşamak gerekli şimdi izleyince tekrar o güne döndüm ve tüylerim tekrar diken diken
