OMG, you are amazing at explaining the steps clearly without bogging the viewer down with unnecessary details and banter. THANK YOU and may God continue to bless you.
LOL Amy. I know what you are talking about. I always fast forward through all the information that doesn't pertain to the video. Glad to know my video was to the point. Thanks for watching and for the nice comment.
I have not yet sewn a gusset but your explanation left me feeling inspired and ready to go. No extra chit chat just straight up do this and this and why. Thank you please continue to make these tutorials most helpful and informative.
Niler, thank you so much for the simple directions provided for placing a gusset into a garment that is too small. I'm making 5 flower girl dresses and I got to my granddaughter Laicee's dress and the bodice bottom was too small. I saw your you tube video and found a savior! Thanks to you, I was able to salvage the bodice and continue on. Thank you and continue with the great sewing tips. God bless😊
Kool Beanz! I work hard to make sure my videos are clear and understandable, so happy to see my hard work paying off! Thanks so much for watching. i hope you subscribed, I have more garment alterations coming soon...Happy Sewing!
Thank you so much for this demo. It is so easy to see what you are doing and your directions are very understandable too. I'll look for more instruction from you because you're great at showing how to do things.
I try very hard to make sure my videos are short, informative and easy to understand Glad to know it's working...thanks for watching and for the nice comment! Happy Sewing!
I know lots of other people have said this but I've just watched three or four videos on inserting a gusset and this is one is definitely the best. I'm going to save it in my sewing folder and follow it to enlarge a men's shirt to dress upcycle that came out too small across the bust. Thank you very much.
This is great! I haven’t sewn in years and made a blouse without adjusting for my pear shape. This is the answer! Thank you very much for taking the the time to make this video. I know it’s a lot of work.
Thank you for this video. It saved me having to start over on my grandson's pajama pants. I made the bottom of the leg too narrow, and was able to add a gusset to allow for his big feet to go through!
Cool! I try to make sure my videos are user friendly, and easy to view. Happy to see it working. Thanks for the nice comment! Happy Sewing. www.relindesigns.com
So simple of a solution. I have been searching for hours to find an easy to follow video, yours is perfect. Thank you for the very clear explanation. Going to tackle my daughter's costume now.
My dear, you are a lifesaver. My daughter's wedding dress needed to be taken out (The wedding is in 6 days time). This tutorial is so easy to follow. I can add the extra fabric and vintage lace. My daughter will be delighted and I get to keep my head. Thank you thank you thank you. You have a new subscriber.
Thank you for such a clear, concise video. I don't sew very much and usually take on something higher than my skill level so not the best of experiences. I've never done a gusset before and a dress i bought online was made in Vietnam and was too small from armpit to middle of the rib cage, too small. I thought about finding a tailor but live in a small town without one. With your directions, I think I can do this!!
What I like about you is that you don't take the easy way out. Almost ninety percent of the people are reducing the sized when most of us need to add size after two years of being inside avoiding other people. I was searching for what you did today... Well... It was posted in 2014 and this is 2022... But it was a help... Thanks...
Amen Edward. The pandemic has turned a lot of us from "little" Debbie, to "big" Debbie. There is no shame though because it is what it is. We all just try to keep it moving including "stretching" those clothes that the manufacturers seem to keep making "shrink"! LOL. Thanks so much for watching and for your nice comment.
Seriously, every time I need to add a gusset and forget how, I come back to this video. It's why I'm here right now! I'm a new sewer, and your video is just hands down the best walkthrough video I'm come across. Thank you for uploading this =)
This tutorial is outstanding! It is just what I was looking for. So clear, so concise and in a language I could understand! Thank you so, so much for this.
omg. you are my hero. I have been looking for instructions I can understand and follow and you made it simple, neat and understandable. thank you so so much!
Well-done video and very concise and complete instructions. It may seem easy, but your guidance insures the proper insertion for a smooth finish. Thanks for your instruction.....
Fabulously clear explanation! Thank you for the step-by-step with different colors help us see exactly where you were sewing or attaching. You are a super teacher. Keep up the good work!
This is the kind of sewing video I like, quick and simple. Thanks. I want to add a gusset to the crotch of some jeans. I’m guessing it’s the same principle.
I agree - this is the best video out there for gussets! SO so so helpful. Would you consider making another tutorial on gussets for dresses with sleeves and how to connect everything seamlessly?
Oh Perfect !! This is the Exact problem I have -all the other videos were for slightly different problems and wayyyy to complicated . This is just what I imagined I needed to do but was not sure how to . Thank you thankyou -I will be doing this right away to my gorgeous red dress which is just too tight at the top . xxxx
Stumbled across your videos looking for a 'How To' for gussets. Thanks for this. It's simple, informative and makes it look easy to do. I'm off to watch more of your videos!
Thanks was a dream come true wanted to make a overall bigger and been searching everywhere for what i thought will work and you just did it as I had imagine it... the best tutorial ever.
Thank you for watching and it is so nice to be missed! I've had some surgery and I'm recovering nicely. I'm currently working on a couple of videos...will have them up soon.
Thanks so much for a really informative video. I made a shirt for my mom but it was too tight through the middle-I opened up the side seams to within 1.5" of the sleeve seam and, using your instructions, was able to add a total of 6" to the girth. Should fit her now!
+Linda Koivisto I bet your mom loved it too and especially because it cam from you...your are a great daughter to sew for your mom. Thanks for watching and for the nice comment.
Thank you! I learned how to do this at School but it was never explained as clearly. Great picture and sound. You must have a great technician as well. I will be using this technique later today.
My uniform blouses are just a smaller version of a man’s shirt, the sides are completely straight. So I’m adding gussets along the sides to give them a more feminine look and fit. To make sure the fabric looks the same, I’m turning the long-sleeve blouses into short sleeves, and using the excess fabric for the gussets. Thanks for showing me how to do this! 🧵🪡
That's a great idea. I actually have a video that shows how I turned a long sleeve shirt into a short sleeved shirt and used the sleeves to make gussets in the sides.
That really helped me...I'm following a pattern (with barely any instructions) and I was wondering what one does with a gusset. So this really helped. Thanks.
Thanks. You resolved my issue with cutting to a pointed edge at the bottom. I wanted to line the gusset and add an elastic at the top of the gusset. the lining will be to enclose the elastic. This is required for a cap that I am doing. Thanks.
Thank you! My wedding dress is too small across the back but now I think I will be able to use it anyway - I love it and think this will do the trick! Thank you!
I'm making a coat and the armscyes are horribly low... I'm going to use these techniques to add armpit gussets. Thank you so much for the clear instructions!
Thank you so much for explaining why & how the different steps are important! Very clear & to the point, now I feel like I understand the mechanics of the process and can replicate it
Thank you Niler. this was helpful. I have a jacket that's fits around me, but the armpits are tight. I need more space for underneath. I'm guessing a diamond shaped gusset would work?
