Take a small bottle with cooking oil, put some in small bowl,when you get paint on you just dip in the oil and rub that on. It will loosen the paint quick, then wipe dry, keep right on painting. I enjoy your videos, very helpful. Tom

Great session and interesting location for it - its good to get away from the coast now and again. i think my vote goes to Ariah as he gets a great range of colours and textures into his painting. i'm a big fan of reflections in water and what moving water does to the reflections - its a real challenge sometimes. great effort by you both - nice to see that occasionally, like me, you get as much paint on yourself as on the canvas. Hope you both have a great Christmas and prosperous New Year and the fantastic videos continue.

I haven't read a book for fun in years, but one of Emma's videos inspired me so much that I decided to read Steinbeck's "East of Eden." I hear this book was your recommendation. I just finished it tonight. I think it may be the best book I have ever read. It was somehow exactly what I needed to read during this particular phase in my life. This may be a stretch to reach out in a CZcams comment, but do you have any other book recs? Thank you for the inspiration!!
Yes, I read East of Eden and loved it so much that I recommended it to Emma. I know what you mean about a book being just what you need at a particular phase of life. Ive read East of Eden twice, once in my thirties, and again recently and it seemed like the right book both times! I plan to read it again in the future. I also recommended The Razor's Edge by W. Somerset Maugham to Emma and she loved that one as well. As for other recommendations, there are two books that come to mind. Old Man and the Sea by Hemingway and Papillon by Henri Charriere. I read both recently and couldn't put them down. Do you have any recommedations? I'm looking for something to read!

It's exciting to think how I might take its messages to heart in different ways in the future. I so appreciate these recommendations! I'm around Emma's age, and it's so cool to me (and surprises me) how much I feel drawn to these more classic books right now. I checked The Razor's Edge out of the library. Intrigued and can't wait to get started. As for books I'd recommend, I loved The Alchemist by Paul Coehlo. I'd also recommend two books in the 'medical humanities' genre (my minor in college), which may or may not be a new genre and vibe for you. When Breath Becomes Air by Paul Kalanithi and Being Mortal by Atul Gawande. They can be depressing and dark at times, yet I found them to be ultimately very meaningful and eye-opening. Gawande founded the place I work now, so I may be a bit biased. If you end up reading them, I'd love to hear what you think.

Malo-boo = Malibu
Malo means Bad in Spanish. And Boo, for either a scare tactic or from an unpleased audience lol. Makes me laugh because Los Angeles the name alone, goes well with Lost Angels, like a place of lost souls(for heaven). But a very homie place for Hell.
I was told that Malibu means "where the surf sounds loudly". Named by the indigenous people of California. I've only seen small waves in Malibu.
