Price to performance, I'd say that the CHARGE 5 offers the best overall value, when pertaining to the smaller portables.
The rubber feet is just utter crap

Thats what i woulda have thought but alot of people are saying that after like 60 % of volume is up it starts sounding distorted…i dont know which one to get, flip 6 or charge 5….BB 3 would be way too big
@@giantsfan8872 The extreme 3 is a nice medium option, which you can pick up online between $219.99 - $239.99. It puts out 50 -60 watts in battery mode, & 100 watts while it’s plugged in. At 75 - 80 percent volume it tends to hold it’s own & maintain good sound quality.

Ok thanks for that, I was at a small house gathering and the host had a charge 5 just a blasting away on his fireplace mantel, really impressed by the sound, Ill have to go get one, I'm currently using a Go 2 for personal listening

For those who want to take it a notch up the PartyBox series is a hit.
I bought a used PB 200, slapped some rubber wheels under it (the 300 comes from the factory with them), threw in a battery pack (also in the 300 from the factory), and I'm happy! Plenty of good bass JBL sound for small money (bought it for 100 $)
I have the JBL Flip 6, best audio device I ever bought, that small tweeter makes a big difference!
Most portable speakers are tune to produce overkill bass, this one has a great bass but it also sounds clear and opened.

Have had JBL SPEAKERs FOR OVER 5 years. Have a Charge 5 now and it is used DAILY, multiple times. I love music as well as used with phone for CZcams. A must have in my opinion I love it!
I personally bought the xtreme 3 for $150 and it’s the best on-the-go party speaker to bring anywhere thanks to the travel strap
Thanks for the excellent review! I got the go3 about a year ago as a gift and i've loved how portable it is and its been a perfect shower speaker. Weirdly when i was charging it one day, the usb c charging cable literally melted INTO the speaker and broke off. Like it melted the plastic around the port and re-harded around it and then the charger broke off so i literally cannot recharge it.
So long story short I'm in the market for a new speaker! While I loved the go3, its definitely been a little subpar at anything more than personal listening. I go to the beach and pool frequently as well as have small parties so I think I'm going to go with a refurbished charge 5 for only $115! It definitely seems like the best value.
I have had a JBL since the original flip but the charge 4 is the best value over all. I’ve been using it as a job site speaker until the tweeter failed. I got the boom box 2 it’s absolutely awesome but way to large to transport everyday. I’m looking to the extreme 3 simply for portability and type c charging. Excellent information on these devices

Ever since release in 2018 I owned the Charge 4, which has been absolutely phenomenal to say the least. That little thing has been everywhere and always exceeded expectations.
At the time my roommate had a boombox that was still getting outperformed by the Charge 4. But today I live in a significant larger house and the Charge 4 is struggling. Most of the time I listen to harder styles like D&B, EDM, Hardstyle, etc. and after years of usage, I blew the speaker overcompensating the space it had to fill. Other genres are still doable, but the bass is a goner.
So, this time I went with the PB110, knowing from experience the boombox wouldn't cut it either, and with the encore probably still being to small and the 310 and up likely to be way to much overkill inside the house.
My advice: If you want to have something portable to take with you everywhere you go, pick the flip, clip, flap, flop, or whatever the unnecessary overkill on models.
If you want something hybrid/semi, to take to the beach and also use in a apartment/room or small house, go for the Charge.
Everything bigger and stationary outdoors, the partyboxes.
is PB110 better than boombox ? I have charge 5 and absolutely love it and I really liked boombox3 design. PB110 looks like a normal big homespeaker but boombox strap just kills me :) I need to hold it :)
@@bekilturgut In my experience, the PB110 outperforms the boombox by miles! Only in terms of mobility the boombox would be better.
If you already have the charge 5, the boombox wouldn't be much of a upgrade imo.
I have 2 Charge 4's that I bought a few mo ago.
The Charge 5 is better but the Charge 4 was on sale for $80 so I grabbed 2. I'm very happy with them.
I noticed that the Flip 6 is the same size as the old Charge 2 that I've had for years and is now beat up.. but Still works.

I have the charge 4 and I love it. Almost got the charge 5 instead but people say that there isn’t much if any difference in sound quality.
The JBL Boombox is insanely loud and clear, even on battery. I've used it outdoors and indoors. It's always a party when that thing is around. Worth every penny if you're looking for a powerful portable speaker with amazing battery life.

Best party setup- Boombox 3 for volume and bass, then a few pulse 5s spread around for light effects and as just extension tweeters

Been loving the Boombox 3 lately!
I’m trying to decide between the Charge 5 and the Extreme 2 because they are both on sale but I plan to use it for soccer training sessions so out door which one would be better? I kind of do need the volume to be high since it’s outdoors so it almost sounds obvious to go with the extreme 2 but how much louder is it than the charge 5?
I was a little hesitant on getting the red flip 6 because it looked.... scuffed on the color but decided to bite the bullet (currently waiting for it). However, the ones he has look vibrant as hell. I hope that's how they actually look, and the picture is the thing that's scuffed.

Will you be able to have multiple stereo pairs via Auracast? i.e. 4 Xtremes making two stereo pairs? Playing from one source.
My favorite speaker by far is the JBL flip 6 and JBL charge 5 the flip is just loud and small and has good value and the strap makes it easy to hang on my bike and the charge has very good bass and a good price compared to the xtreme which is to expensive and not worth it

I have the extreme 3 I had it for about three years and my rubber feet on the bottom they all fell off overtime, but it still works pretty great.
I was kinda disappointed with the xtreme 3 because it sounded so similar to the charge 5 for me just with more bass so I returned it and got the boombox 3 and as soon as I started playing some music it was a major improvement compared to the xtreme 3. But one reason I see why someone would choose the xtreme 3 for portability. The shoulder strap is super convenient
JBL has been doing PartyBoost for a few years now. I locked in on the JBL Connect+ generation and got 10 speakers. 2 Flip 4, 2 Charge 4, 2 Pulse 3, 2 Xtreme 2, and 2 BoomBox. I connect all of them at parties and especially camp trips with dope playlists. Salty that I can't(won't) get any of JBL's improved generations because I invested in the "wrong" generation. They have done three up to this point by the way; Connect, Connect+, and PartyBoost.

The pulse 5 is something out of Star Trek omg. It is a thing of beauty. I came here to nerd out about the clip4 i own and see what else jbl has, and wow, just wow. I need, neeeeed, at least a Flip, or Charge now lol.

My company gifted me a Charge 5 and I initially thought what am I going to do with this thing?? I listen to music with high end headphones or my home wharfedale elysians/home theatre. Then I connected it to my laptop and it hit me.. perfect for boosting my laptop remotely for zoom meetings, hotels, anywhere really. I just toss this thing in my laptop bag/pack and have acceptable audio no matter where I am in the world.

Ive got a clip4 and yesterday I recieved my new Flip 6
The JBL speaker I love the most is the JBL Charge 5. It’s super light, has a decent size, pretty good battery, and pretty good sound. It has a built in power-bank which is nice. My cousin and I have the same exact speaker so we can use the PartyBoost feature. I’d say it’s better than the Flip 6.

@@VerangaF430 When using the Powerbank, it can affect the battery but I’m pretty confident that the battery will last depending on it’s condition

Is there a big difference in how loud they are and bass wise? I just got the xtreme 3 but want to know if I should of just spend a bit more for the boombox
there is most definitely a bass difference but loudness its a 1db diffrence but the boombox has way better quality and you dont have to turn it up as loud on the volume thing @@omarramos1957

@@omarramos1957 Boombox 3 is loud and has an amazing deep bass. Now, two Charges 5 are way better than an Xtreme 3. I got an Xtreme 3 in the past to compare with my Charges 5 and it didn't fill my expectations, the fact that you can make the Charges 5 work as a stereo in partyboost fills better space as a single Xtreme 3.
i went with a treblab hd max instead. very impressed with them.
I have a general question, do JBL speakers do a sound when you get a phone call or do they just stop the music to let you know ?
My huawei ones do an extremely loud noise and it doesn't matter if my phone is on mute or sound. I cannot use them of fear someone might call bc of how stressful loud the ringtone is.

I still love my Charge 2+.
I got some other speakers in the meantime and I got quite disappointed especially with the Xtreme and the pulse 3. They where really expensive and their battery died way too fast. Also having 3 different connection systems is really annoying.
If JBL would guarantee that they support PartyBoost further I'd definitely buy the new Charge 5.

I was _very_ fond of my JBL GO 3 until the '+' volume button ceased to function after about a year of use.
The speaker still works, but only at very low volume.
You should be able to set it so your phone can control the volume of the speaker directly. Believe it’s a setting somewhere in Bluetooth if you are using a phone

Just ask yourself, are you willing to sacrifice better portability for a bit better sound and volume? I gotta agree, I love the simple design of the flip. Looks so clean. It depends on what your using it for as well.
if you wanna be loud just go with the xtreme 3 it gets up to 114db
