    How sharp can it turn? Is it "highway rated" (to 100 mph)? Is a single wheel trailer stable at high speeds? Other than these considerations, it looks great.

    This trailer costs about the same as a nice rack and hard pannier combination. It's $1,000 or so depending on your bike.

    You've clearly got a good product, the welds are seriously fantastic, cost less than anything else and a simple and effective design, which is genius. You may not need help selling the product, but more help in fabrication. Maybe you're doing fine and don't want expand to the point of being the only thing you're doing, which is understandable. Look forward to getting mine complete. I told a Brother In Law about your product for his Africa Twin and he immediately ordered it. He's happy. It sells itself.
    Constructive criticism: You need a gallery of actual connections (There appear to be at least two methods, if not three) and a closer view in the videos and a FAQ page. It would greatly reduce the questions. Most things are in place, just not complete. People are going to have general questions, like lights, VIN, general registration, load capacity, maintenance. A lot of information is out there but scattered everywhere. Of course I realize you're also fabricating, riding, living and doing family stuff and all that consumes time.

    • @ijaxon6675
      @ijaxon6675 Před rokem

      I ordered one and was notified it was ready, I ended up declining, not one question was answered. It would take a web page illustration or video for the R1200GS. He says he makes it for the R1200GSLC but there isn't an option on the website. I just wanted to see one clear illustration of how it works for a R1200GS.

    i bought a quietcat bicycle trailer built along the same lines as yours,i have a 20" x4" rear tire/wheel tho on mine,rated at 80 lbs i think for gear,was gonna hook it up to my 04 shadow 600,but couldnt envision any way to hook it up.was your motorcycle axle already hollowed out like that with the wheel bolt in place or did you remove it to slide that axle in? in the end i jus decided to motorize my 26" phat tire bicycle,and its a slow and tedious process,but have most of the stuff to fabricate with.and my trailer was only 370 bucs on sale from the manufacturer.

    That has to make riding so much more fun instead of loading everything on your bike. You could carry extra tires and fuel no problem. What is the point where you feel it's just too much weight? My guess is you wouldn't want more than 100 lbs maxed out

    • @KIPMoto
      @KIPMoto  Před 4 lety +4

      Our standard SherpaX is rated for max 60lbs. Slower off road stuff you feel it more, high speed behind a big adv bike and you don't even notice it.

    Would like it alot more if it could be connected to the frame instead of the swingarm the unsprung weight on the swing arm will affect the motorcycle handling and suspension.

      michael schettl
      The way i see it Michael is THAT might exceed the gvw overall and the sprung weight vs unsprung WILL affect the off road performance and most likely the on road as well . I've had plenty of Bicycle trailers , the frames solid AND suspended . The trailers always worked better if trailing the rear axle. Just my musings .

    • @kdx1208
      @kdx1208 Před 5 lety +2

      Yes might effect it a little bit but no where near as bad as having all that gear in panniers

    • @ThisTall
      @ThisTall Před 5 lety +2

      All gear scenarios effect handling, Just cause it effects handling doesn’t mean it effects it to much. This would be much better specifically off rd then a 60lb bag on the tail that locks you into the bike. And most bikes frames aren’t made to handle extra weight like that.

    • @64maxpower
      @64maxpower Před 4 lety

      The best way is to bring a pocket full of money and buy everything along the way and you don't have to carry anything
      You sound like an engineer by the fancy jargon you use and it appears you put a lot of thought into your answer. Where would you like the trailer hitch mounted? How does someone on a bike carry 60lbs of gear to make it feel like you aren't carrying anything? I have a feeling you just may be putting this klp guy out of business
