I had to upgrade from iOS 16.5 to 17.2.1 on my iPhone 14 to get this Photo Grid option. Otherwise using your other tutorial for creating side by side photos was a good workaround to make my own photo collage.
Now with 17.2.1 the 2 photos side by side works directly from photo grid shortcut too. Thanks for posting

i wish i could put screenshots but you click the 3 white dots on photo grid. scroll all the way to the bottom, the last option should say “show image in quick look” go up 4 options from that & it should say “combine image horizontally” click on horizontally & you can change it to vertically. click done. that should work, it worked for me. hope this helps!

That happened to me. I cropped the picture into a square before making it into a collage by pressing edit, crop, icon to the right of auto, square at the bottom, and then moving the crop where I’d like it. Since the picture is already a square, it won’t crop it again. I hope that helped! I don’t think you can avoid some cropping.
