It's good to see a black woman hosting this show. I don't understand why they are only able to host this show once a year.
They pick the hosts based on who has something coming up. A movie, album, TV show, etc. In her monologue she explains she was supposed to host in March when she had stuff coming out.

I'm from Texas but I have been to NYC a few times and that rose guy is a real character on the NYC streets. 🤣 NYC is such a colorful place of the tattoo artists, rose guys, and taxi drivers cursing each other out.
