Honestly, I watch a lot of other cooking channels, but by far, I always end up coming back to this channel. Not only can I binge watch this guy, but he's very detailed about the process, and I'm sure a lot of us can agree that we appreciate that. I think what draws me back to watching this guy is his passion for cooking. I don't speak for all cooking channels, but you can obviously see that there are some cooks who don't look as excited when they're making/cooking their food. And of course, another reason that draws me back is that his food looks amazing, simple but yet amazing. Sometimes, simple is better; his channel's name speaks for itself, "Not Another Cooking Show". Thanks for the uploads and keep it up my guy!
He’s very educational
Those vegetables at the beginning are like jewels. They shine so much freshness.
I tried this recipe last night & it was the best crab cakes I’ve ever had in my life!!! 😩 You’re the man! 🙌🏾
Bro I can’t tell you how excited I am for your keto series! Thank you so much!
Thank you for reworking crab cakes into a keto version. It's one of my mom's new favorite meals, and you laid it out so simply that I can cook it for her no problem.
Omg! I was literally thinking that it would be great if tou made a keto version of some of your foods because that Chicken thigh with mushrooms and green beans is a staple meal for me.
So not only am I OBSESSED with your channel, your down to earth and super chill personality and your sleek cooking style but you now are making keto recipes too!!!!!!!!
Holy xxxx...
Thank-you for being so open minded about food.
I’m gluten sensitive and get super bloated eating grains so I always have to research and through trial and error come up with recipe alternatives that taste just as good as the real thing.
Videos like this are VERY helpful!
You are awesome!
Looking forward to more delicious videos!
All those very appetizing sides dishes are such a good idea! 👏
Cheers from Switzerland 🇨🇭
Aww yea! Excited for this series. Been living a ketogenic lifestyle for 3 years. I watch your channel for inspiration and cooking techniques. It will be great to see some of your keto recipes.
Do you eat keto non-stop for 3 years or off and on?
@@italoblu Non-Stop. A few times a year, if I am at a family gathering, I may have a meal with a decent portion of carbohydrates but I just go back to eating keto after.
“Ketogenic lifestyle” dude how did you guys make it out of high school 😂
@@inappropriatelaughter847 Judging by the other comments you've left on this video your intelligence on the questionable side. Perhaps it's your idea of humor.
@@FormerlyKnownAsAndrew Sorry Andrew. The ambassador of humor and stalker of comments. Forgive my low iq. Not used to being in a space with so many keto mega-minds.
Fucking awesome that you're doing keto recipes on top of your regular stuff. Much love my man! Thank you! PS Yours is the one of two [the other being Chinese Cooking Demystified] cooking channels I follow.
Excited for this series! I'd love to see your interpretation of italian dishes done keto. These crab cakes look amazing!
Thank you so much for doing this with a keto version!!!!! I love your work and your channel. I truly appreciate it sir.
Stephen embodies the saying “Food Is Love!” His care & real affection for people & great Italian food really shines through in every video. TY for this awesome channel.
Absolutely incredible. Can’t wait to see more keto recipes!
Thank you, thank you, I love your shows and we decided to go on Keto this is A BIG WIN for us thank you for all you do love the shows and as always looking forward to all future shows
I started keto about a month ago and seeing that you’re gonna start a keto series got me hyped! I appreciate you 😎👍
That is such a great idea for a series! We could all eat a little better in our lives also my parents are keto so this is very helpful, Thank you!
I’m going to enjoy this new Keto format. Thanks for the extra work it takes!
It doesn't matter how many times I watch you make something, or what it is you're making but every time I find something else to try. Your tastes are so much similar to mine. I dislike fennel for the exact same reason but hearing that take on it makes me think if ever I am presented with one, what I can do to it to make it enjoyable. Also I love how you served these crab cakes.. its simple but with all those flavors it'll make for such good eating.. Thank you for your great recipes and awesome work put into them.. so much love!!!
Very excited about your new series! I'm always looking to reduce the carbs in recipes.
Looking forward to this series! Brilliant! You're an excellent communicator.
Hello how are you doing?
Have really enjoyed your channel for a while now! I’m eating Keto now so I’m very excited to see more of this classic vs Keto video! Thanks so much! Making crab cakes for dinner tonight!
Amazing video, I felt really comfortable following along, you give very clear and simple instructions to follow in every step, it makes it astonishingly easy to follow along in real time and I can’t speak for everyone, I’m no chef but following some of your recipes has really given me a new found confidence in the kitchen turning it into much less of a mundane activity and more of an exciting experience. Thank you for the content and keep it up!
I love watching your show and do keto for health reasons. So looking forward to this. 👍
What an appetizer masterpiece. Looks delicious. Those crab cakes looked chunky and filling.
*doesn’t even make the recipe* ITS AN APPETIZER MASTERPIECE.
I love your videos man, I’m at university at the moment and your videos make it so easy try these recipes. I used to hate cooking but watching your videos, and trying a few dishes myself, has made me realise how much fun cooking is. The back stories behind each dish is just fascinating. Keep up the good work👍
P.S. I’ve been watching and cooking mainly Italian styles but I’m going to be trying other styles soon.
As a Maryland native, up until the peppers, is exactly how I make mine. Though I substitute Lance Captains Wafers, if you can find them, or Keebler Butter Crackers but no breadcrumbs. It might not be but they taste less salty than Ritz. The recipe on the Old Bay can is the basic template, so it's always fun traveling and trying Chesapeake Style crab cakes. Also happy to see you fold the mixture to preserve the lumps, nothing worse than eating a crab cake with the texture of a codfish cake.
I love watching cooking videos, but doing keto, it can be very frustrating, as you can't make most of the things you see. Super stoked for this series.
Do you have epilepsy or diabetes? Because if not, then there is absolutely no scientific reason to cut an entire food group from your diet. Have some unrefined carbs, your body needs them!
Outstanding! You outdid yourself with this video and these recipes!
Oh wow so excited about this. Even though I'm keto I still really love watching you cook. Thank you so much for doing this 😃
Great video! Looking forward to the rest of the series!!!!!!!!
DIVINE!!!
Crab cakes my FAVE!!
I’d like to see your take on a quahog-stuffed clams.👍🏽

OMG!! This is an absolute masterpiece!!! You've out done yourself!!!! Holy crab!!!!
Always find it great spending time watching your videos 😊👍
Holy Toledo! That looks awesome! Thank you!
Hell yeah man! Awesome recipe as always. Best cooking channel on CZcams.
LOVE LOVE LOVE this series
Definitely gonna try this! Love Crab cakes! 🦀 ❤️😋 Thank u! 😘
Can't believe you haven't hit a mil yet been watching for about 2 years, learned a lot
Yummy......I'm drooling.
Again, try adding chopped up spicy sweet pickles from WICKLES PICKLES. It's a must for my tartar sauce. So good
I just made a half-recipe of your "Keto Tartar Sauce". It is delicious. A few slight changes though. The sauce was a bit too loose so I strained it a bit. I also used ground white pepper instead of black pepper. This will be my go-to tartar sauce from now on. Thank you for what you do. You make us all better cooks!
Yes! Thanks for adding Keto!
Man I love this channel!! I've tried a few of the recipes and they are delicious
Try the basic pasta. Also amatraciana
WHAT?!? Classic vs Keto? A GENIUS IDEA! That deserves the ALL NOTIFICATION button!
I'm so pleased to hear you say "grated garlic" . I think it describes it much better than "minced garlic" . Good job mate 🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧
This is awesome, please continue
You're a smart cookie,, thank you so much
Try crushed pork rinds for a breadcrumb type keto coating.
Wouldn't they overpower the crab?
I was wondering if flax meal would be useable. It might not be keto, but I sure as hell need more fiber.
Looking forward to more keto recipes!
Best cooking show around👌
Really nice. Brilliant 👏
New subscriber here! I freaking love this content. Keep em coming
Nice idea
Cheers from San Diego California
I found out that the sauted veggies gave them so much flavor, 💯% greatness. Delicious!!!❤😅
I'm home grown Baltimore. Take it from the crab cake capitol of the world; Maryland Blue Crab is the only meat to use.
One of the tastier crab cakes I’ve had was naturally keto(or almost anyways). It literally wasn’t fried, at all. It was years ago at Del Friscos. I was a bit turned off by it at first but it was actually really good.
Thank you for making a keto version ❤😊
Interesting take! I'm going low carb (Doc warned me keto could fry my already bad kidneys) but often I find myself getting keto foods just to make sure I'm keeping my carbs low. 60 lbs down since Xmas!
Excellent! If you’re not already following him look up Dr. Berg.
Looks beautiful.. Just happen to have some crab meat so will definitely make this.. No fennel so just regular salad will have to do..
Hello how are you doing?
Looking good. I never heard of Ritz cracker crumbs in a crab cake but it might be good. A little richer than saltines. Most crab cakes old time were a little green pepper tiny dice but raw added to mix. Maybe a little Spanish onion dice also. Old Bay was dusted on crab cakes after it was fried in lard or shortening. This recipe is very similar , just a bit more elaborate. The old time oyster Buy boat recipes are in James Micahners book Chesapeake. Sherry was sometimes added to the mayonnaise and egg mixture in Baltimore style cakes.
YES! A keto recipe that isn’t a “quick and dirty” I like cooking and eating good food despite being on keto. It’s rare to find these types of videos. Been a fan for awhile tho.
Pork Rinds work wonderfully for lots of Keto friendly binding.
Thank you!
Just in time for my wife's b-day! Been a while since I bought lump crab.......$60/lb bought by the case🙄.......I'm sure the price isn't going down, so I stocked up. Happy wife, Happy Life😎
Maryland raised however living in Arizona here… so, all was good until you added the pepper mix. Try using back fin crab meat in addition to the lump. It packs the cake together better with a mix. Only use the bare minimum of bread crumbs to bind.
I figured fellow Marylanders would come out of the woodwork in the comments. :)
I think Maryland does many things well, but crab cakes are something it has really done better than anyone else!
Beautiful!!!
I like to use ground up pork rinds or fried chicken skins as a panko/bread crumb keto replacement. Not sure how they would be as a binder though, I do use them for meatballs and meat loaf and they work. Only down side with them is sometimes you get an overly hard piece, almost like a bone.
I love watching you thank you for your style
Me too 👍
How are you doing?
I can’t cook for shit but I’m loving this channel, learning so much! Much love from Denmark, feed yo self!
This is my favorite video. I love the fact that used Ritz crackers that's how they do it at Phillips Seafood in Maryland I live in Texas so I'm pretty sure people use Saltine premium crackers but damn I'm hungry now
This salad was the best. I hate black licorice and the change of taste of the fennel was amazing
oh awesome, i loove crab cakes
RIGHT ON regarding the diligent search for shell fragments! I found a great little seafood and produce market that makes their own crab cakes - they were among the best I've ever had! BUT biting into shell fragments turned me off to ever buying them again. Sad!
SNL would have a field day with the prep
Thank you for doing a keto version
As a marylander, I welcome this
You need to make a Fresh Raw Fennel & Orange Salad with a lemon juice & Olive oil dressing. The freshness of the salad is magnificent. Tastes clean & fresh. Every time I see / hear you maligning Fennel, it breaks my heart. It's an under appreciated vegetable. Roasted with Fish it's great, Roasted and put on Pizza or Flat Bread/ Focaccia and on & on! Fennel is dynamite!
Baltimorean here: I can't endorse the use of canned crab meat HOWEVER you did use old bay and the tartar sauce looked really good. I like your variation, it can be boring when you just get it on a bun or with some fries but I think the bright fresh veggies really bring out the flavor
Normal person here: Anyone that describes themselves as Baltimorean… shouldn’t be trusted by anyone 😂
@@inappropriatelaughter847 To be fair I was born in the burbs lmao but I am a chef
@@jaredgolian98 Nice! You made it further than I did. Worked in kitchens but never had the title “chef”
Thank you so much for doing something keto. Your recipes are delicious however I went ketovore approximately 2 months now and can't really make most of them anymore.
I've in all honesty never found a decent crab cake. I don't know what one should taste like. As a kid in the fifties my dad was a real fisherman. I'd seen him fishing, crabbing and even raking up oysters and filling a jon boat with them. If he brought it home my mom would cook it. What I remember and crave most was her stuffed crabs. She'd boil the crabs and clean them. Then she'd scrub the shells clean. In her 90's I asked her the recipe and she looked at me like it's so simple you should know it. She said you take cleaned crab meat and add celery and onions, salt and pepper, cracker crumbs, and lastly sausage. I don't remember her mentioning any eggs but it may have been in there. Then she'd stuff the crab shells with it and deep fat fry them. I have no idea of the proportions but the result was so good I couldn't stop eating them, digging out all the filling from the corners of the shells. She did tell me you can use hamburger meat in place of the sausage. Now I don't eat a keto diet and even resent the use of the word as most people use it in ways that don't apply. As for me I've eaten an atkins low carb diet for 30 years allowing myself 12 carbs per day but I don't eat a keto diet. So if I were trying to duplicate this stuffed crab recipe I'd use just what my mother used except for the cracker crumbs. In their place I keep the ends from a zero carb commercial bread I buy. Toast them and dry, then make bread crumbs from them. So you have a zero carb addition to a nearly zero carb recipe. Fats I don't worry about. Never have. I cook in fats whenever possible, I eat cheese, and eggs and meat fats. But I don't keep track. Now back to the recipe. I think the mix of crab meat and sausage made an indescribable stuffed crab that no one is able to duplicate taste wise. And best of all there was only a bare minimum of filler like the bread crumbs. It's likely 90 percent crab and sausage.
Looks fabulous. Can’t wait to try. I will just have to take out a bank loan to buy some crabmeat .
Nice! Like the Keto recipes. Ive been on keto coming up on 3 years. Down 100lbs. Could use ground up pork rinds instead of the breadcrumbs, they work great.
You lost weight because of a calorie deficit not because of no carbs
@@abrahamcalderon9236 Wrong actually.
@@abrahamcalderon9236 calorie deficit is the why. Keto is the how. At least for me. I'm more easily sated without carbs.
@@abrahamcalderon9236 nope. Neither helps you loose
@@gp7110 neither works? Losing weight is literally just burning more calories than you consume. That’s it
Thank you.
I'll take one of each of those crab cakes! 😜
Would love to see a keto recipe using pork rind bread crumbs. Just bought some and have only made onion rings. 🤙🏼
"I went with guar gum, it had the LEEEEAST amount of carbs..." sounded like Will Ferrell there haha
If you don’t wanna use guar gum for the keto use pork rinds crushed up as a binder
Ooooh, please fix the link to the recipe because this is AMAZING!
pracisiooon doicing
wow amazin recipe!! gonna do this for sure!
the link to the recipe doesn't work for me
Surprised I haven’t seen any Marylanders questioning the peppers in the crab cake yet.
im wondering if aquafaba would be a good keto binder since you can whip it first, and maybe chicharrones instead of bread crumbs?
Would you be able to recommend basing it instead of the oven? I feel like the crevices really allow the oil to seep through easily
We DO have options, especially on CZcams for cooking. I choose you!
Unfortunately the price of a can of lump crabmeat near me has gone from $19.99 to $47.99
Love the recipe as always great stuff!!
I'm not keto, but I like crab cakes with no exterior breading. Is it possible to get the binding with the guar gum?
Any tips to those who are not so good at the flipping ?
this brother is good.
Pork rinds are a great substitute for bread crumbs if you’re Doing Keto.
