Myra Hindley: Rape-Murderers

  • Serial murderer Myra Hindley is often portrayed as an “evil icon”. Her crimes of sadistic murder against children continue to shock. There are few artistic sights so terrifying as the giant portrait of Hindley composed of the handprints of children. Sadistic women are uniquely evil: in the entire history of humanity, there are only a few and, even then, they generally offend alongside a man (in Hindley’s case, Ian Brady).
    What do we know about rape-murdering women? Is redemption possible?

    Some people actually enjoy being wicked. It doesn’t matter what may have led to them doing badness. They made a CHOICE. As humans we have a will unlike animals. We must bear and take responsibility for our actions. Therefore we deserve whatever penalty is put upon us. Being sorry, having regret, cannot change the fact that they did it. Regret does not have to be sincere. There is always an element of selfishness self preservation involved. If this is not so, that we pay the price, laws do not exist. The bible and other ethics lay down what is wrong, otherwise we are animals

      Myra Hindley probably wouldn't have committed any serious crimes if she hadn't met Ian Brady, and meeting Ian Brady may have been mainly due to chance rather than a choice on her part.

    Some very odd pronunciations - Ian Bradly, haynious crimes, physiogomy, Klytemenstra etc.

    Oldham is in Lancashire not "Lancaster". His name was Brady not "Bradley". Mistakes like this detract, badly.

      I'd say they were mispronunciations. The diction goes a tad awry on other occasions too. It is quite common during high concentration, when performing a long monologue or speech, to occasionally mispronounce or mix up words. Should she watch the whole thing through afterwards, and then re-record it if there are any moments that might "detract, badly" for Christopher Scorah? Maybe concentrate on the content rather than getting all nit-picky over a couple of in-consequentialities... FFS.

    It's common for people to recoil at the prospect of the death penalty in the 21st century, but in such cases as that of Hindley and Brady then they deserved it and more.

  • @PaulDoe79
    @PaulDoe79 Před 2 lety

    I get that some people are against the death penalty because they fear an innocent person could suffer that fate. But in open and shut cases where doubt or innocence is not a factor I am all for it. Why won't the courts poll the people when it comes to legislation? California got rid of of the death penalty and 2 months later the voters got it back.

      Timothy Evans was an open and shut case, except it wasn’t because he was lodging with a serial killer. If you are prepared for you or a member of your family to die despite being innocent, go right ahead. I don’t dispute there are murderers who don’t deserve to live, what I can’t deal with is the execution of the innocent who don’t deserve to die.

      To date 375 people in the United States have been exonerated by DNA testing, including 21 who served time on death row. Benjamin Franklin wrote, that is is better 100 guilty Persons should escape than that one innocent Person should suffer- words that are as true today as they were when he spoke them.

      @@annascott3542 sadly the million plus murderers who were/are guilty get to live comfortably on the taxpayers dime because people worry they "might" execute an innocent person. They are clothed, fed, given excellent Healthcare, a free gym, cable TV and even computers. Meanwhile we have innocent men and women living in poverty who don't get half of the perks these convicted felons receive.

    What is wrong with you, love? You recite the details of these hideous crimes with relish and a big grin on your crone-like face.
    This isn't some victorian melodramatic novel you are discussing. Your overt theatricality and apparent glee at the subject matter is truly infuriating and grotesque in equal measure. Have a bit of respect.
