I LOVE the hood and collar! Live your extra life! ❤
Thank you! I like it too. I prefer a versatile collar over a hood. 😂
I love, love, love the coat with the exposed seams. It looks great on you and that collar is everything. I think it would look great with toggles on it. Beautiful job as usual.
Thank you! 💕 This was a departure for me in so many ways. Which is one of the reasons I did it! I agree about toggles. I think it needs them.
It turned out lovely Stacey, it looks so warm and cosy. 😊
Thanks so much! 😊 It is warm! Perfect for the crazy cold snap we have been experiencing.
Wow! ❤ It is beautiful! Perfect! Don’t change a thing it looks great on you ❤❤❤
Thank you so much! 💕
Love your coat. And the outside seams make the coat work❤❤❤❤.
Thank you, thank you!
So warm and cuddly! This is really an accessible coat to make for the new sewinst. Thank you for the thorough tutorial, I cannot imagine how long it took to put this video together!
Thank you! I am surprised how much I have worn and gotten compliments on this coat. It is so warm! You are right the video editing takes so much more time than the sewing.
It’s beautiful, just leave it alone!
Thanks so much! 💕
Perfectly Lovely.
Thank you! 💕
Stunning 👌🏾
Thank you! 😊
Another great video! Thanks so much!
Thank you! I appreciate your watching and leaving a comment 💕
Looks great. I personally would take off a few inches from the hood. 👏
Thank you! It is quite a big collar! I think on a smaller body the proportion might be too much.
Hi Stacey, I'm watching while at an appointment 😅😅😅
Aww! YAY! I am glad I could be your appointment buddy.
@@stacyrobbins you were!🥰
Very nice jacket
Thank you!
Love it!❤️
Thank you! I am surprised how many compliments I get when I wear it and it was a pretty easy project!
It's a great looking coat. Like you I am a nicely finished seams gal but I think the unfinished seams on your coat look great and right for the fabric. Would also like to see how a more formal version turns out.
Thank you! It is a definite departure for me, in style of sewing and fashion. I don't know how many coats I need, but I would like to try it again in a lovely wool fully lined.
I love the look of the raw seams. Would look good with toggles. I went to buy some Sherpa in NZ for lining a corduroy jacket and it was $70 per metre. It’ll wait until I find it in clearance one day.
Thank you! I agree about the toggles. I haven't tried buying the real deal. I know it is pricey, but wow! It would be so lovely though. 🐏
Highlight of my Wednesday - watching your latest video. Very nice coat. It looks nice and warm. Given the current weather, that is a really good thing. The exposed seams really work with that fabric. To toggle ... or not to toggle ... That is the question. Whether it is nobler in the mind to suffer the slings and arrows of zippers pulling open. Or ... by toggling ... end them. Shakespeare would probably choose the toggles.
Thank you! 💕 I look forward to your thoughtful and humorous comments. In reading this my mind went to "toggle, toggle, boil and boggle." I agree Shakespeare would choose a toggle (zippers were invented yet 😜). I also would like to choose to toggle. Looking for some now.
Beautiful coat... this is totally my style but the seams need to be pressed open n I think I would hand whip them down in the flat open position... I agree on the neckline I thought that you would lap those seams... the coat neckline up n to the outside n the collar in n does toward your shoulder trim to a half inch... that was a big job your shoulders n back must hurt... mine would anyway... I would love to see your other coat... so sorry you never
have gotten to wear it... did you have a daughter that might wear it in the future ??? Looking forward to next week's project...
Thanks so much. The seams sorta do their own thing even after pressing. 😅 We will see after a wash how wild they get. I am considering a binding over the neckline seam to make it softer and finished. Though, it isn't uncomfortable now. As for the old coat I wore about 5 times, it isn't my daughter's style. I will give it a good press and show it off sometime. 😊 See you next week!
Stacey, What is the name of your sewing machine you're using?
My sewing machine is a Bernina 770QE and the overlock is a Bernina L890. I also have my Bernina 1630 that I sewed on for over 25 years and it still sews beautifully!
@@stacyrobbins You love Bernina. I had a burning a sewing machine about 15 years ago and I gave it away. I did not know what I had.
Don't like the collar...a hood world be better.. seams look okay. Fit is great.
The collar is divisive. apparently! 😅 Thank you for chiming in. I love hearing from everyone.
