@@fraz1142Joel tried at least once in the last episode....and twice this episode....I'm not sure who did the glass pane at the beginning of last episode...but the piston trap was wels....xB is just to observant right now....dudes at defcom 5 lol...
At this point failing and trying again is much better content anyway.
It's exactly the same in the life series. Poor Joel has cursed luck in making traps.
Everyone still alive is so paranoid. BDubs is busy planting trees to see if his house has been loaded, and xB is busy sending in Keralis as the bomb squad, all the while Joel is going crazy from his trap failures.
I gotta say, 'Beans' and XB have such different dynamics that seeing them interact is so amusing!
xB is making a mockery of some if the best Life Series players....though Joel is ALWAYS his own worst enemy...lol
to be fair, traps are Joel’s weakness. put them in a PVP situation and the result will be _very_ different.

this has got to be one of the best xB episodes. Joel’s repeated failed attempts to kill xB, xB being very smart and precautious and it paying off, xB using Keralis to avoid testing things himself… just everything about this episode is so funny.

I laughed so many times out loud! Yoel is just amazingly competent at failing with traps. I wouldn't trust the base at all though, the crazy fisherman going in was very sus.

If I was a Hermit, I'd purposefully change small things in his base just to mess with him.
Not even traps, just turn a chest around, move the Dog a bit, replace a block, that kind of thing lol
Also xb tripping every trap on purpose, rather than leaving them alone

Xb put the trapdoor there. If anyone tries to go down into his mine without hugging the left wall, they'll die. Xb knows the trapdoor is there, obviously, but anyone coming downstairs to trap his mine might not think to check the hole to confirm they need to hug the left wall to survive.
I think there's an extra bit of brilliance to it that Xb didn't talk about, on top of that. If anyone comes to trap that hole, they might check it to see if anyone got to it first, see the trapdoor, and assume the hole is already trapped, not knowing that Xb himself is the one who trapped it and therefore knows how to avoid the trap.
@@austinish I was more referring to the fact that on Welsknight's video you can't see the string, but I am fairly sure that Xb's texture pack makes sting more visible.

Honestly one of my favourite xB videos in a long time. The ominous periods of silence really accentuate the anticipation before something is about to happen. Horror movie-esque, except more entertaining.

You seem to have a good nose for sensing traps. Honestly, that whole “I always close my door before logging out” reminded me of putting a slip of paper between the door and the frame to tell when someone has entered the room. Joel’s three failed murder attempts were a delight to watch, and to be fair, every other hermit on the server goes by either their screen name or one that can be derived from their screen name, so Joel’s the odd one out here.
Bdubs is doing something similar, by planting sapplings before he logs out or leaves his area. if the sapplings have grown, someone else was loading the chunk.
Gotta give it to Joel, he never gives up 😂 after the last trap you can't but feel sorry for him

Wels was so sure that tripwire wouldn't render in, but you're apparently just too eagle-eyed, both for that or for invis pots, and watching you outsmart death again and again is hilarious, especially when that death comes in the form of BEANS. it's looking like another fun rivalry is shaping up and I genuinely can't wait for more. also, The Immortal xB has a great ring to it - maybe something to lean into if you end up incorporating any story into your base this season. thanks again for the episode and happy xBornday!
xBCrafted is a freakin' Beast at Demise. The guy has such an active paranoia that he can see small details from long distances. It's incredible. I'll give Joel credit though, those traps would have worked on normal people.
