I was half expecting your solution to be "hide a hermit in the walls, who pulls all the levers." Although slightly disappointed, this is a great elevator!
i had 100% just expected a big wall of levers where to use the elevator you had to pull them in the correct order every time

I do love how, in a series of updates focused on adding more/better caves and chasms, the Hermits keep deciding that those aren't good enough, and they must make their own!
We had Impulse digging out a whole dwarven cave last season and Zed's chasm this season.

With the way that the rickety pathways are turning out, it would actually be quite fitting in with the gameified theme if the pathways were designed so that you need to do small parkour jumps to get around more efficiently!

Zedaph really is one of the most underrated hermit. I love Zedaph's bases where it's just built with tiny UNNECESSARY Redstone contraceptions. You love to see it
I love watching these bits when two knowledgeable redstoners, or builders, come together. It feels like they've switched to a whole other language and you just have to nod along like you understand more than the item names dkshg

This episode summarises why Zedaph is such a genius in my opinion.
He presents a problem, he breaks it down in smaller logical problems and solutions, while explaining redstone on a very basic level, one would need to understand the solution. I don't know anything about redstone, but I learned and understood a bit of it's logic today, and Zedaph did this with seemingly no effort on his explanation.
He made it fun and even called for a break, after all the explaining.

Every video I watch I'm surprised, once again, how perfect Zedaph is. He's a redstone genius, a great builder and a funny, clever guy. I can't get over how every part of the video amazes me. From the dig down of the day, to the funny interactions with other hermits, to brilliant redstone, to clever minigames. It's always such an anticipation to receive another Zed video.

I always enjoy Zed's slightly confusing redstone explanations that end up showing off something really cool. By the end i surprisingly feel like I understand what he was trying to tell me.

A quicker way to move your items: shift+throw_key within the inventory will throw a whole stack of whatever the mouse hovers over. Using the same method where you have a ton of items on the ground, you can cycle several whole stacks through one item slot in fractions of a second.
You should use concrete powder to add some pizzazz to the elevators

Once upon a time, on a boring sleepy afternoon when I was a kid, my siblings and I went on a journey throughout the house to find the longest possible route from point a to b. Watching your videos has the same carefree happiness-along-the-way energy and I love it.

Now that Etho, Tango, and Pearl have launched their post office service I think it would be fun to gameify getting some type of item or something through mailbox only trading. So kind of that swap meet challenge of going from something garbage, like a block of dirt, and trading it up to something valuable. But only do it through the mail system so it can be a bit of a season long challenge where every episode or 2 you check in on the current item you’ve traded up to.

Zed, Zed. ZED! i was with ya, right up till the very end. That was very very unnecessary, but it did make me laugh. so there is that.
I have a problem with piston extenders. I made a 3 tall x 7 long triple piston extender, however every time it retracts it breaks the gravity block (in this case i'm using white concrete powder). I'm pretty sure it's a timing issue, but i have no clue how to solve it.
Same issue here, I attempted to re-create it in line with what Zedaph has built, but the gravity block just breaks.
This Video reminded me of another one by MattBatWing on the topic of Infinite Piston Extenders for 3blue1browns #SoME3 event.
It's a rather short video, but explains the mechanics in a very fast and easy to understand way, and in that progress creates a theoretically infinitely scalable extender.
It's actually a LOT smaller and compacter then you would expect.

The vomit comet travel can really transfer a lot of items… Each "step" you pick up every item and reset the 5 minute timer. So even if it's a 30 minute walk you can get everything there just fine. The 5 minutes mostly count at the very end when you only have 5 minutes to stuff everything into chests which would be slower than spewing the items.
I wonder how many items you can bring that way? Especially if you go with Ctrl+Q you could bring sooo many stacks.
Am I the only one who sees Zedaph's Crevasse and all of his wacky contraptions and immediately thinks of Myst? Maybe it's just me.

When I first found Hermitcraft I found it on Iskalls channel and I only started watching Zedaph in season 8 but now it's all I can watch. Zedaphs videos are so good.
